Who’s the nicest celebrity you’ve met....

Got some inspiration from another thread, so I wanna know who’s the nicest celebrity you’ve met, either at a convention, gig, anywhere really.

Mine had to be Austin Nichols, met him at walker stalker this year, he was genuinely the nicest person, he may have been acting but I don’t even care as he made me feel at ease even though I was terribly nervous. He actually spent about 5 minutes talking to me.

Gary Player the golfer. No, I’d never heard of him either. I met him at work and all the sports fans on the crew went nuts over him. I got chatting to him and he was so nice to chat to.

I've met a few but truly one of the nicest I ever met back in the day was David Hamilton - the radio DJ. The older ones on here will remember him - 'Diddy David Hamilton' as he was sometimes known. I wasn't that keen on him on the radio, until I actually met him and he is one of the nicest, loveliest, down to earth blokes you could ever wish to meet. And without parodying Smashie and Nicey - he did a lot of work for charidee ... and it was all done quietly without fuss. Just a genuinely nice man.

Just googled him and he is now 80 (!) and still working in radio.

Russ and Caroline from 90's band Scooch were lovely when I met them a few years ago, they had just finished a set with the band and were walking to their cars to go home and I spotted them!
I'm actually now friends with David from Scooch and he's equally has lovely!
I met Rob Beckett at a petrol garage a few years ago, it was a few days before his wedding. I'm a huge fan of his so like a tit went over to him and said omg you're Rob Beckett!! He smiled and said yes I am. I asked him for selfie and to meet my friends in the car He said he was in abit of a rush but still had a selfie and met my friends, he was super friendly!

Two stick in my mind..

Sir Mark Todd the event rider - very amiable and a laugh too.

Alistair Stewart the newsreader. A lovely man; very chatty and extremely polite.

Athena51 · 28/12/2018 23:24

The comedian Mark Thomas, super friendly, chatty and charming. An absolutely lovely bloke.

RabbitseatDogs · 28/12/2018 23:26

Tom Baker (Dr Who). He lives locally and I often see him in the Co-op. He always says 'hello' to my children (DS is a massive Dr Who fan), has given them money for the fair and extra money to give to 'somebody who may need it more'. He's really lovely and even if he's in a rush he'll always spare the time to say hello or autograph something.

Just as well, as I didn't embarrass myself. He was very polite and lovely

Theimpossiblegirl · 28/12/2018 23:31

Julie Walters, a lovely woman.

Ariela · 28/12/2018 23:32

I'd say Brian May, but a friend of mine met JR Ewing in Dallas actor Larry Hagman and he was the complete antitheses of the character he played.

doublethink · 28/12/2018 23:34

Threestars, Bob Mortimer is one of the (few) famous people who I would love to meet. So glad to hear he's nice in real life!

CazzieCatsRock · 28/12/2018 23:35

Russ Abbot. What a charming, eloquent gentleman!

DevaDiva · 28/12/2018 23:35

Andy and Alex from CBeebies at Glastonbury. Met them two years in a row in the kids field, both thoroughly lovely people who we had a good chat to.

Also Kym Marsh, Ryan Thomas and Brian Capron (all from Corrie) in a work capacity but again vvlovely people.
