Who’s the nicest celebrity you’ve met....

Got some inspiration from another thread, so I wanna know who’s the nicest celebrity you’ve met, either at a convention, gig, anywhere really.

Mine had to be Austin Nichols, met him at walker stalker this year, he was genuinely the nicest person, he may have been acting but I don’t even care as he made me feel at ease even though I was terribly nervous. He actually spent about 5 minutes talking to me.

I used to meet celebs lots through work before I had kids. Agree that Daniel Radcliffe is really sweet and unassuming. Dermot and Steve Jones from T4 were probably the two politest celebrities I’ve ever met. Ewan MacGregor and Idris Elba the most charming.

randomsabreuse · 29/12/2018 10:37

Zara Tindall. Very down to earth and get on with and much in as needed!

ChristmasTwatteryDoesMyHeadIn · 29/12/2018 10:37

Delighted that Anthony Head is on here, I love him! I’d have been really gutted if he was awful Blush

I’ve met a few through work (hospitality) but my favourites were Tony Roper (Jamesy from Rab C Nesbitt) and Elaine C Smith (Mary Doll). Especially Elaine, she was brilliant!

Biggest celeb was Vince Vaughn, he asked directions to a comedy club in Edinburgh and I could barely talk!

Another vote for Tom Baker. Lovely chap. Helped me unload my trolley into the car when I was struggling with little kids. He's local to us and is always chatty and happy. Really top man

Lobsterquadrille2 · 29/12/2018 10:45

Oh yes, another for Tom Baker. Always used to see him in our M&S.

FoulMouthedMotherFigure · 29/12/2018 10:45

Jimmy Osmond - pleasant to chat to, great sense of humour, and so normal. He has a really light speaking voice, completely different from his powerful singing voice.

When I met him, he'd driven himself to his gig; and when asked about where he'd be heading after the UK leg of tour, said he was going home to the States to attend his youngest son's high school graduation, and how much he was looking forward to seeing all his family.

Tom Hardy. The nicest, most helpful, well mannered, unselfish person alive.

I was in Millets buying a tent. He got in one with me to help do the ‘lying on the ground checking for size’ thing. We had a little chat, then he offered a quick shag. I asked if he had the hat from Taboo, he grinned then left the tent. Came back with it on and did a smashing job. God bless Tom Hardy!!!
I don’t limit my dreams to Tom and Tents btw. Henry Cavill was nice but not Tom nice iykwim Grin

PolaDeVeboise · 29/12/2018 11:20

Grin @Maiden

playinthedarkness · 29/12/2018 11:22

James marsters (spike from buffy) was absolutely lovely. Went with a friend to see him perform his songs in a small theatre and had a photo with him him at the end. Took the time to chat to everyone.

MrsFezziwig · 29/12/2018 11:29

Am pleased to see two of my favourites mentioned. If someone can tell me how nice Alan Rickman was I can rest easy!

MamaHechtick · 29/12/2018 11:36

Jenson Button. Met him at festival of speed twice, lovely man.

Juan Pablo Montoya, same.

Westlife except from Brian, really nice guys and fantastic with children.

Judith Chalmers, a real sweet lady.

Christopher Timothy I see him a lot and he has the most stern and unapproachable look but is exceptionally nice and always friendly with my DC's.

Needallthesleep · 29/12/2018 11:42

I met Claudia Winkleman through a work thing, and she was wonderful. It was an awkward thing she was being asked to do, but she just got on with it and was super lovely.

Needallthesleep · 29/12/2018 11:43

On another note, I met the Hemsley sisters who were fab. Until one (argh can’t remember which) started giving her anti vaccine opinions.

FishCanFly · 29/12/2018 11:53

Ron Perlman - I met him at his new series premiere a couple of years ago. He gave me a big hug and I nearly fainted. What an adorable man.

Heuschrecke · 29/12/2018 11:57

Reece Dinsdale. Some years ago the company I worked for did some work for him and his wife. He, and she, were absolutely lovely and down to earth - IIRC the majority of our dealings were with him and he was just a regular guy and easy to talk with! I got a big hug from him on the final day along with a genuine "thanks for everything you guys have done"!

MercedesDeMonteChristo · 29/12/2018 12:08

Hugo Speer. Literally rocketed in my estimation (and those I was with).

FancyFancy · 29/12/2018 12:29

I think I was with you mercedes Grin Agreed, he was lovely - fab sense of humour & polite enough to ignore how steamingly drunk we all were!

LindaLa · 29/12/2018 15:23

@MamaHechtick and @MrsFezziwig

I can first of all say that Alan Rickman was polite, funny, charming (not creepy) and so handsome.

I have also met Christopher Timothy.
He is very lovely, we shared the last spoon of peas in the BBC canteen.

maddiemookins16mum · 29/12/2018 15:25

Jill Dando 😥.

GourmetGold · 29/12/2018 15:27

Gloria Hunniford, really shows an interest in you. Closely followed by Jeremy Irons... lovely in many ways!! :D

LindaLa · 29/12/2018 15:31

@maddiemookins16mum

Yes. So sad, she was a lovely soul.

Heuschrecke · 29/12/2018 15:31

Chatted to Phil Lynott at a record company do, which I'd been invited to. He was just so nice - I can't remember what we talked about, but it was just trivial chit chat like you might have with an acquaintance in your local pub! V nice man.

OMG - I've just forgotten my absolute favourite! Laurence Fox! He used to drink in my local for a while (just before he and BP got together). He was just so lovely and normal - with a great sense of humour, we all had some good laughs with him. Top bloke.

Gooseflesh · 29/12/2018 15:55

I had the opposite experience.
Djokovic was lovely, signing tons of autographs, flags and taking selfies etc
Federer just walked past everyone, calling his name, asking for pics etc

Also passed Michael Aspel once but didn't realise till 10 seconds after Grin
