Who’s the nicest celebrity you’ve met....

Got some inspiration from another thread, so I wanna know who’s the nicest celebrity you’ve met, either at a convention, gig, anywhere really.

Mine had to be Austin Nichols, met him at walker stalker this year, he was genuinely the nicest person, he may have been acting but I don’t even care as he made me feel at ease even though I was terribly nervous. He actually spent about 5 minutes talking to me.

John Challis (Trigger from Only Fools and Horses).
Alison Hammond.

Billie Joe Armstrong was really nice when I met him, really down to earth and friendly.

BellBookandCandle · 29/12/2018 16:19

Rhys Ifans - very funny and charming
Cerys Matthews - lively and good fun!!!

David Beckham, Paul Scoles and David Ginola - all lovely.

Jose Mourinho and Frank Lampard - absolute gentlemen (and bloody gorgeous too)

Paul Nicholas - reserved but happy to chat
Patricia Routledge - funny

Linford Christie - polite and charming

Harvey Smith - bluff but honest
David Broome and Nick Skelton- another pair of absolute gentlemen

Jo Johnson - great to work for

KaliforniaDreamz · 29/12/2018 16:21

Bill Nighy is a total charmer. He actually kissd my hand when introduced.
brilliant.

Unevenbeard · 29/12/2018 16:33

Met Bianca del Rio at a meet and greet, she is a sweetheart!

SymphonyofShadows · 29/12/2018 16:35

So glad that Lee Brilleaux was lovely, he always seemed it.

All The Blockheads are absolute gents, who have loads of time for their fans. Ed Tudor Pole is hilarious. My favourite is Tom Robinson, he’s a darling (2-4-6-8 Motorway, not the EDF wanker).

Bubbinsmakesthree · 29/12/2018 16:36

Tony Blair was unexpectedly humble and affable during a brief meeting.

TonTonMacoute · 29/12/2018 16:38

David Attenborough.

GrubbyHipsterBeard · 29/12/2018 16:38

@bellbookandcandle surprised but pleased to hear Jose Mourinho is nice!

Don’t think I’ve ever met any celebrities Sad

ScarletPower · 29/12/2018 16:40

In Dublin Airport, many years ago, the comedian Frank Carson walked past us. My dad got very excited and shouted at him "IT'S THE WAY I TELL THEM" (FC catchphrase) and I'm sure he must have heard it a million times before but FC did a comedy double take and shouted "IT'S A CRACKER!" (another FC catchphrase) and my dad was chuffed to bits.

GraduationDilemma · 29/12/2018 16:41

Robbie Williams was very laid back and funny when I met him a decade or so back.

Flairhead · 29/12/2018 16:44

Mark Read from the band A1 is an absolute sweetheart, takes time to speak to everyone and has a way of making you feel special. If he's met you before he'll remember you! Lovely guy.

GreyGardens88 · 29/12/2018 16:44

Mumsnet is well known for its love of Anthony Head Grin

Heuschrecke · 29/12/2018 16:46

ScarletPower. Many many years ago my, then, DP and I were at some ball/do (can't remember what for) and Frank Carson was on our table (of 10 people?). He was absolutely lovely - I don't think he did the "it's the way I tell them" thing, but he was charming, good fun and - unsurprisingly - highly amusing! Another top bloke!

SilverySurfer · 29/12/2018 16:49

About twenty years ago I bumped into Alan Rickman (who was/is my no.1 crush) in Portobello Road. I nearly lost my power of speech but managed to mumble something like 'I love your work' and he did 'the smile' and said 'how kind, thank you'. I will never know how I didn't crumple and end up on the floor or grab him for a quick snog Grin.

When I lived in London Billy Connelly and Pamela Stephenson were neighbours. Whenever I saw them they were always friendly and would stop for a chat (even if it was to tell me that my cat had dug up their new plants.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 29/12/2018 16:50

Robert Plant was very friendly, unassuming and low key, considering what a god he is.

Glad to hear Michael Palin is lovely, he’s my imaginary long lost uncle! I’d be gutted if he was horrible.

Heuschrecke · 29/12/2018 16:59

Oh, another one. Jane How (the actress who played Dirty Den's posh girlfriend in the early years of Eastenders). We lived in the same area (where I also worked), so we crossed paths in my professional life over the years. She's just charming.

cstaff · 29/12/2018 17:05

I met Colin Farrell in a pub in Dublin a good few years ago - back when he was still drinking. He was lovely, really chatty and had no problem if you wanted a photo - he would hand the phone to one of his mates and get them to take it.

lotusbell · 29/12/2018 17:13

@todayiwin, genuinely green with envy! I was supposed to marry him!

NotCitrus · 29/12/2018 17:23

David Mitchell and Rob Webb are lovely.
Griff Rhys Jones, also does lots of charity work.
Sat next to Clive Swift (Hyacinth's husband Richard from Keeping Up Appearances) at a dinner - really lovely.

Gordon Brown - great sense of humour, though I didn't dare ask him wtf he wanted to be PM for!
Shakin' Stevens

Daniela Nardini
James Marsters, Danny Strong and Tom Lenk
And Stephen Fry - met him doing his Christmas shopping in a department store when he was frazzled and my dad and I ended up helping him for half an hour.

todayiwin · 29/12/2018 17:27

@GraduationDilemma Christ he was off his tits when I met him 10 years ago ....

ElizabethMainwaring · 29/12/2018 17:34

Lionso · 29/12/2018 17:40

Jared Padalecki of Supernatural. Lovely guy. Jensen Ackles is nice too but Jared has a lot of time for fans.
