Who’s the nicest celebrity you’ve met....

Got some inspiration from another thread, so I wanna know who’s the nicest celebrity you’ve met, either at a convention, gig, anywhere really.

Mine had to be Austin Nichols, met him at walker stalker this year, he was genuinely the nicest person, he may have been acting but I don’t even care as he made me feel at ease even though I was terribly nervous. He actually spent about 5 minutes talking to me.

'You don't have to be gay to sing on this chorus, but it helps.'

Lepetitpiggy · 30/12/2018 14:43

I wrote a couple of reviews about his shows and he sent me the nicest, most thoughtful messages afterwards. I could ramble about him for ever!

SymphonyofShadows · 30/12/2018 14:49

limited he nowsays “you don’t even have to be glad”. I go to see him a lot and he always comes on right at the start and introduces the support, who is always someone he’s championed on his 6 Radio show. It makes it much more intimate and it’s always a special night. He spends ages afterwards talking to people and signing things. He signed my now 40yr old copy of PITD and wrote ‘Symphony’s Original Copy’

Loving the Tom Love Grin

Teachdeanta · 30/12/2018 16:02

Helen Mirren is absolutely lovely. I was among a group of extras in one of the movies she was in. She made sure to chat to everyone and seemed genuinely interested in all she spoke to.

Ratarse · 30/12/2018 16:50

I once sold Led Battersby a telescope Grin he was very nice and polite.

DH was on a flight with Ian Brown, who is lovely (I'm so jealous)

Ricky Hatton, my brother went to school with him and used to go for tea. He still lives local and is nice and normal, his brother however.......what a dick.

Would love to bump into and marry Aiden Turner Grin

Kylie Minogue ... she was heavily disguised at a very quiet beach in Brittany, keeping a low profile (this was in the days when the press were stalking her every move and she was about to split up from her French beau, who was also there). We recognised her, of course and she still smiled gracefully and offered to have her photo taken with my DSs. We still talk about how lovely she was. My DS (3 or 4 at the time) can be seen in the photo demonstrating how a shark moves by waving a toy shark in her face. slightly annoyed she did not remove her hat and shades

Ledley King was also lovely but way less famous. I am proud of the fact that I recongnised him before my Spurs mad DH and DSs did!

Norman Wisdom - legend. Worked in a hotel about 25 years ago that had a big sweeping staircase and we asked him (joking) if he'd do his comedy roll down it. He did, all the way to the bottom !

NoWordForFluffy · 30/12/2018 17:33

Nick Heyward was lovely when I met him backstage at an 80's throwback concert. I was stewarding the entrance to backstage and a VERY drunk bloke came up to me and was giving me grief. I had to get rid of him (which thankfully wasn't that hard!) and didn't have a radio to call for assistance.

Nick was parked nearby and by the time he got to me I'd got rid of the bloke. He (and his partner, with their little dog) asked if I was OK and stayed around until it was clear the drunkard had buggered off.

Also, all three lads from Biffy Clyro. Always so polite and unassuming and just all-round nice blokes!

DameSquashalot · 30/12/2018 17:37

Nick Heyward 😍

NoWordForFluffy · 30/12/2018 17:42

He was so lovely, Dame!

Redgreencoverplant · 30/12/2018 18:00

Ended up opposite Robert Vaughn and his wife on a train and they were very polite and friendly.

Mrskeats · 30/12/2018 18:02

James Corden and John Barrowman and also Peter Andre
All very charming and friendly.

HarrySnotter · 30/12/2018 18:07

George Michael was absolutely lovely. Humble and just wonderful.

Abra1de · 30/12/2018 18:10

Freddy Fox was charming and polite when we met him and didn’t quite know who he was. Seemed genuinely interested in us despite us being middle aged and boring.

Snowflake01 · 30/12/2018 18:16

Has anyone met Michael Jackson?

Ratarse · 30/12/2018 18:20

George Michael, sob. What a beautiful man.

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 30/12/2018 18:25

Emma Thomson, v nice, bit posh and v v sweary!!

met Jim Kerr (Simple Minds) ages ago and he was a prat. used to have a crush on him, I was over that in about 3 seconds....

Liam Gallagher and Chris Evans have both been rude to me, Robert Carlyle was an arse (don't go to a public event when your a celeb and then get your giant posse of minders to push people around)

Billy Connolly threatened my DH, but was lovely to my mum (admittedly about 40 yrs ago) and helped her carry the pushchair with my then baby DB in it up a giant flight of stairs

Vynolo · 30/12/2018 18:58

Martin Sheen an absolute true gent and the best president Winkhe talked to me for ages about the West Wing and when I said I was gutted I couldn't just magic up my West Wing dvds for him to sign he asked for my address and then a couple of weeks later a full set of signed West Wing dvd sleeves turned up for the box set.

Jitters22 · 30/12/2018 19:39

Liam Gallagher and Chris Evans have both been rude to me

Don't know about Gallagher but Chris Evans I loathe - not a celebrity alive I detest as much - his voice, his face, his mannerisms and his vast fortune out of all proportion to his actual talent which seems to be shouting down a microphone to his audience as if they are 10 years old and hard of hearing.

His success absolutely astounds me. How anyone could have listened to this prick on Radio 2 of a morning is beyond me.

JemAppelleLafayette · 30/12/2018 19:47

Danny Boyle was lovely to me when I accosted him out Christmas shopping. Chatted for about ten minutes about the Olympic opening ceremony (it was 2012). He asked where I was from (Edinburgh) and when I told him he said “oh, I’ve done a bit of work in Edinburgh.” to which I roared “I KNOW!!!” BlushGrin
He caught me looking at him as he was leaving the shop and waved at me again.

Bill Nighy caught me doing a double take at him from a bus and flashed me a lovely big grin. He looked very dapper in Wayfarers and a very slim fit black suit.

LindaLa · 30/12/2018 20:14

@ClosedAuraOpenMind

There used to be a running joke that Jim Kerr was actually born in Spain and his first name is Juan..

limitedperiodonly · 31/12/2018 15:39

My mum used to bump into Bradley Walsh in Sainsbury's almost weekly. She always said the same things to him: how much she loved The Chase and how I'd be really good on it.

I never once got the impression that he was ever anything but nice to her. She told me that Bradley always said I should apply. I never did. I should have done. She would have been thrilled if I was on.

mydogisthebest · 31/12/2018 16:13

Me and DH met Lewis Hamilton years ago when he was still in karting. He was lovely then and, as we are both big fans, I hope he still is. He certainly has a lot of time for his fans (much more than other drivers).

Met Terri Hatcher on holiday and she was lovely.

So pleased to hear that George Michael was lovely. I am a big fan of his

mydogisthebest · 31/12/2018 16:15

Forgot about Joe Swift. He is on Gardeners World and presents Chelsea Flower Show. He is the son of the actor Clive Swift.

Met him lots of times and also spoke to him on the phone almost every day for about 2 years (his wife was my boss). Really friendly guy
