Had a bit of excitement today, but if the good sort. Just as we got settled into work I was alerted that an email was received with a warning that if we did not pay x before end of day they will detonate a bomb. Of course we knew it was more than likely to be a hoax but what if it wasn't? After some thought I called the police. Of course the entire building was evacuated and the dogs and bomb squad called in. Turns out it happened in multiple places today. Better safe than sorry, but still. Who has time for this nonsense? --

Hope your day was less eventful!

2018SoFarSoGreat · 14/12/2018 00:57

Shugar. Not of the good sort! Fat fingers be gone.

bexcee · 14/12/2018 07:37

Morning all just made the connection at the bus station thankfully you didn't leave without me.
@Seafour not sure what's doing on but hope you've sorted them all out and put them in order to do what needs to be done. Thank goodness you can fight your corner but wrong that you have to. Hope you got some rest last night.

bexcee · 14/12/2018 07:38

*going

InflagranteDelicto · 14/12/2018 08:54

That's not quite the sort of day I'd want 2018!

Morning Seafour, have you sorted out the pillock doctors? There was a light frost first thing this morning, the air was fresh and cold. Not enough to be crunchy under foot though.

AwdBovril · 14/12/2018 09:00

Hope today is going better, SeaFour.

bexcee · 14/12/2018 14:08

Any one else a bit worried about @Seafour? Over 24 hours since her last post. I know she's got more important things to do than chat to us but I just hope she's ok.
Thinking of you @Seafour Thanks

JustanotherCHRISTMASuser01 · 14/12/2018 14:52

@bexcee I know, thinking we need to get the bus and decend on the hospital - I know she has a lot more pressing things to attend to but i do worry about her

DMCWelshCakes · 14/12/2018 15:03

@FABULOUS

Is everything ok?

DMCWelshCakes · 14/12/2018 15:07

Sorry for shouting and for missing your full name @thefabulouspa.

My phone's auto correct sabotaged me!

Seafour · 14/12/2018 15:52

Sorry I haven't posted since yesterday, the dick shit consultant who chose to ignore the consultant who made comprehensive notes the day before relating to my previous reaction to slow release morphine (zomorph). He spent 10 minutes convincing HIMSELF that he knew better and that "the SCIENCE BEHIND THE PROTOCOLS IS FACTUALLY CORRECT AND 100% ACURATE because it's science. He also pointed out that dose of Zomorph I was given the previous night was "very small" for a regular opiate user, who has been using for 10 years.

He was one of those people who believes that science is king and no exceptions can be made because Seafour can kid herself that she's not dependant on opiates but science tells him that I'm an habitual user.

I did point out that my normal opiate consumption was 20mg in 24hrs prior to surgery and that I only use opiates proactively as I want to benefit from them, he did point out that my prescription allowed for 60mg up to six times per day, he wasn't interested in listening to me as I'm obviously in denial and hanging onto my PCA to max my usage and his job was to remove it. He was tripling my Zomorph prescription and it would be given during the day and at night, me telling him that that was a very bad idea because it would impact my breathing significantly and that wasn't compatible with life if he could take the time to read my notes relating on previous attempts to use Zomorph.

This has taken me four hours to write so far so I'm handing over to thefabulouspa who has just left my bedside, she will fill you in on the rest of the story once she has collected her dd3 from school. It's not a nice story.

Please keep posting, I'm reading everything and I'm sorry that I can't respond individually at the moment.

How arrogant is the consultant! An arse of the hole variety for sure 😤

2018SoFarSoGreat · 14/12/2018 15:59

So ridiculous. I'm so angry with you. It doesn't get easier, does it? Sending you a lovely gentle hug, and 💐 and 🧁. But not sure if you are able to eat cake yet?

AlbusPercival · 14/12/2018 16:00

Bloody hell sea. They really are shit. How East Midlands are you? I will be in north Cambridgeshire soon and would love to come visit

Andro · 14/12/2018 16:14

Seafour - I really hope someone is composing the complaint...and that your pain consultant hands Dr arrogant his ass!

I was at work most of last night so you came for a walk with me this morning, we took my friend's dogs out - you had a slightly crazy cavalier king charles spaniel called Jinx and I had a black russian terrier called Drago. We walked through the park, there'd been a hard frost so the grass was white and the paths glittered. One area has holly bushes, the edges of the leaves looked as though they had been dipped in icing sugar and glitter. The sky was a crystal blue and the air icy - you spent half the walk telling jinx that he wasn't being picked up, no matter how pleading the puppy eyes (he hates cold weather but is hyper without the exercise).

FuckBrussel · 14/12/2018 16:14

Oh, FFS, that's ridiculous. I'm angry on your behalf - how dare they?

I hope things improve, and soon. xx

Thefabulouspa · 14/12/2018 16:25

Oh my gosh what a difference a day makes!!!! I arrived to see Seafour yesterday following the said conversation with the dick shit consultant! Seafour was understandably furious as she is more than capable of advising consultants on the best and worst scenarios of want happens when you try to change her medication of any kind!

The nurse administers the Zomorph, Seafour and I where unaware of what it was as it was given with an array of different tablets. As I was leaving Seafour said she felt very tired, so I thought I’d better put her ventilation machine on! Thank god I did!! Seafour slipped into unconsciousness and she spent the next 10 hours like this with the nurses battling to stabilise her breathing with both ventilation and oxygen simultaneously! Having had no medication for the rest of the day and evening she’s spent the whole night and most of this morning in hideous pain from spasms!!!!

I am please to report when the pain team visited today they had to eat a huge plate of humble pie and actually sat and listened to everything Seafour and I said!! When I left Seafour although in a huge amount of pain was very much awake!!!!!!

WitchDancer · 14/12/2018 16:31

Oh my lord, that's awful, disgusting, and downright bloody dangerous! I pray that nothing like this happens again, and the rest of Seafur's hospitalisation goes by without any more serious errors.

bexcee · 14/12/2018 16:35

Don't apologise! As long as you're ok that's all that matters.
Sounds very frustrating for you why don't they just accept that you know the best options for yourself?!

JustanotherCHRISTMASuser01 · 14/12/2018 16:55

I am so thankful seafour is such a strong minded person I dread to think what would happen, I hope to god you are writing all of this down a major major complaint should be made.

Seafour · 14/12/2018 16:58

"Because science can't lie" and obviously I'm just a Morphine junkie in denial and lying about the amount of morphine I use

OP posts:
Andro · 14/12/2018 17:01

They're fortunate that humble pie was all they were eating, that's the kind of screw up that costs lives...Seafour I'm glad you're doing better, I'm horrified but sadly not surprised that this happened.

AwdBovril · 14/12/2018 17:03

What an arrogant idiot of a doctor - definitely make a formal complaint about him.

Hope SeaFour improves soon. Flowers for you & Thefabulouspa, who is doing a great job despite the efforts of various nincompoops you are unfortunately encountering.

LonelyOversharer · 14/12/2018 17:40

seafour just popping on to add my support. I have read your thread right through. You are an astounding woman. I hope you have a more comfortable night.

I live with the fallout from poor spinal care. My dp was in a rear end shunt 10yrs ago. Strangely enough they refused to scan him until he pissed himself. Is this some sort of hideous benchmark? Unable to walk? Crying with pain? No probs, chin up. Wet yourself? Ok, maybe you aren't lying. We are currently waiting for new scans as his pain has ramped up recently. It might be surgery this time.

Sending love from bitingly cold Cumbria xx

Izzy24 · 14/12/2018 17:48

Words fail.
How many times are you going to have to deal with this?

Sorry to hear your story too Lonelyoversharer.

Love to all in these very challenging and chilly times.
