Just checking in to see how @Sea's doing, wishing things were improving more quickly, but after the fuck-ups made by some of the doctors it's slowed everything up (that's putting it mildly).

Even my forum-cynical daughter is feeling slightly less cynical about MN now, after I've read her Sea's posts saying how this site is helping to keep her spirits up.

Thinking of you, Seafour. This thread has been both inspiration and bloody scary in equal measure, but at the bottom of it all lies the fact that this is your life and while we can all 'dip in and out', you can't. It's humbling to know that despite everything, it's a life you have no intention of giving up on any time soon. Bloody hell, makes my little life grumbles seem so trivial.

Wishing you a night of hopefully 'some' improvement.

Hey Sea. Thinking of you today. I hopped off the bus this morning to go and visit my mum who is settling in at her respite care home. She had a very wobbly first day yesterday (lots of tears and delirium was very prevalent) but today the home were holding an Xmas fete and she was busy folding raffle tickets when I arrived to see her. They have put her in charge of the raffle stall and one by one all the staff popped in and asked her to promise to make them a winner. It was very sweet. She was completely lucid and 'present' today and chatted to me just like old times.

This afternoon, with the rest of the family out, my youngest son and I put the tree up, decorated the mantle and strung lights round windows. He's 15 and has definitely got an old wise soul. I love spending time with him. We stuck the Christmas songs on and laughed at lot and sung along badly!

It's been a lovely day (the first really since before my mum went into hospital in October) and next I need to get stuff ready for a birthday party for mum we are holding at the home tomorrow lunchtime.

I hope you've had a peaceful and pain free day Sea and I'll be back on the bus tomorrow.

NancyHoHoHo · 15/12/2018 17:50

Flippin 'eck Sea you've done so much prep for this and yet they still won't listen. I'm cross on your behalf.

Still, has today been better? Here's to getting the care and attention you need.

mineofuselessinformation · 15/12/2018 19:50

I hope you're ok, Sea?
Don't worry about posting if you're tired, but you usually have a few words to say during the day.
Take care of yourself, and I really hope you've got the CPA sorted.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 15/12/2018 20:59

Hello Sea and FabulousPA.

How was today? Hope you got some good pain relief, something delicious to eat and felt the love from the bus. You know so many of us think of you first thing and last thing? Can't wait for you to be ready to come join us so we can get this bus party really started.

Wrapping today. Only bought for kids, so how the heck did I end up with about a 100 parcels? The danger of buying over a length of time. You forget what you have, then are slightly 😳

JustanotherCHRISTMASuser01 · 15/12/2018 22:03

@2018SoFarSoGreat 100 :-o I only have about ten to do and cannot be bothered :-( my problem is I buy something then see something better I.e I have to go return a jumper I brought for my dad as a better offer came on Debenhams for something a lot nicer and more him for the budget so I have to mess around with a return! Think i need to avoid the internet until 24th December when its too late to keep finding better things!

justasyouare · 15/12/2018 22:17

I hope today has been better Seafour.

GreyCloudsToday · 15/12/2018 23:04

Hope you are doing ok Seafour FlowersCake

Izzy24 · 15/12/2018 23:10

Off to bed now after a day of batch cooking for the freezer for a friend.

Hope there’s something nice to nibble on the bus as I haven’t actually eaten.

More importantly, hope you’re as chilled and pain free as possible Sea

bexcee · 16/12/2018 00:07

Just checking in on everyone. Hope everyone's keeping warm and dry tonight not a nice evening out there.
How you doing @Seafour? Thinking of you often and sending you healing vibes.
Not had a great deal here been very emotional thinking about the first Christmas without my dad. That empty chair at the table is going to be hard.

Seafour · 16/12/2018 03:03

Hi lovely people,

Thank you for the lovely messages to me and fabulous PA, your support is as always very much appreciated and valued .

Hello, how are things, hopefully not more idiots to contend with?

ThinkOfAWittyNameLater · 16/12/2018 09:48

Hello @Seafour

I hope you've had a restful weekend so far. Today it is gorgeous in south east, the sky is a beautiful clear blue, the air is crisp and fresh, and the ground is slightly frosty but without being slippery. Birds were singing, dogs out being walked and chasing leaves. It was lovely. Now I'm back home with a nice cup of tea in my Christmas mug whilst youngest is desperately trying to stay awake to watch Thomas at Christmas. You know, eyes dri

ThinkOfAWittyNameLater · 16/12/2018 09:50

..dropping, head wobbling.
Now he's having a tantrum because he needs a sleep Hmm

JustanotherCHRISTMASuser01 · 16/12/2018 12:57

Thinking of you seafour hope your afternoon is as peaceful as possible x

yawning801 · 16/12/2018 15:40

Hope everything is OK for you and PA xx

Atreus · 16/12/2018 16:16

Just checking in...been reading since you first posted and sitting quietly on the bus soaking up the good wishes, amplifying and sending them in your direction. I hope you are managing some (relatively) pain-free rest today.

As for us, we are visiting friends in Switzerland where we lived for a few years. The Christmas markets are twinkling and in full swing and last night we drank gluhwein and ate mountain food under a singing moose. Today has been spent digesting the gluhwein and mountain food before we do it all again tonight. Home tomorrow to see what carnage our cats (affectionately known as the hairy shitters) have done to the Christmas tree whilst we've been away.

gigglingHyena · 16/12/2018 16:58

Thinking of you and hoping that you are having a calmer time today. Grrr to those who are too invested in their own ideas to actually listen to you. So not a battle any patient should have to fight.

Weather here is now decidedly cold and frosty, the grass was very crispy when I went outside this morning. Having spent the last couple of hours in the unheated garage finishing off a last few Christmas presents I am currently wrapped in a blanket trying to defrost.

Mrspimplepopper · 16/12/2018 17:11

I'm delurking to say hello

I've read the whole threads and I am in awe of you sea.

Just wanted to say hello and that I hope today has been a better day for you.

Roystonv · 16/12/2018 20:24

Still here thinking of you and wishing you all the best. Final Christmas decorations up today except for adding in some green from the garden nearer the time. Made some pistachio/parmesan stables for nibbles on the day. Finalising Asda order too.

Izzy24 · 16/12/2018 20:36

Thinking of you Sea and Fab PA.

Hugely restful and peaceful wishes coming your way.

Looking forward to my own bed after a couple of nights away and can only imagine how very much more you must be longing for yours.

Hang in there Woman of Quite Incredible Strength.

TofuPanda · 16/12/2018 20:36

Yes, still here. Hope all is well-ish x

2018SoFarSoGreat · 16/12/2018 21:05

Hello Sea. Spa and fellow passengers. Quiet day at home today, preparing for the onslaught of the holiday. Am going to use my lovely new mixer today, after looking at it in the box for four weeks. Banana bread, since the over ripe ones are calling me. Not sure what else. Perhaps scones for the freezer. I find they work well if prepped ready to bake. Let's see. Shall try to make smellavision work if it seems worth it.

Rainy and cold out there, so nice to be indoors listening to the radio, with the constant undertone of my lovely DH playing guitar downstairs.

Hoping for home for you in the near future. But mostly hoping for pain to bugger off and let you be ❤️

GreyCloudsToday · 16/12/2018 22:53

We did a lovely fake Christmas dinner for the in-laws today. Everyone had a really great time. MIL put some beautiful words in a card for me about how hard I work caring for the whole family (unfortunately DH has fibromyalgia so he is unable to do too much). For the first time in ages I felt seen and really appreciated.

Sending good dreams to Sea and all our other bus crew.

bexcee · 17/12/2018 07:46

That's lovely @GreyCloudsToday amazing how a few minutes of someone's time and s few words can mean so very much and give your the strength to keep going.
Hope everyone's had a good weekend and is ready to face another week.
Just enjoying a cup of tea waiting for my two teenagers to get up, they have 15 minutes before we leave for school!! Only three days until they break up.
How was the weekend for you @Seafour have you got them to listen and understand you yet? Pleased you're being supported by @Thefabulouspa and your DH.
