Can I join the bus? Had some good news of my own today (mum is finally moving to respite after being in hospital for past 6 weeks following a fall, on floor for 9 hours then subsequently having a heart attack brought on by the stress).

I've been uplifted by the wonderful friendship and support offered to Sea on the bus. I've brought some fizz to celebrate consultants who listen to patients and give them what they need. Bottoms Up all

JustLurkingAway · 12/12/2018 22:34

Found you!

DMCWelshCakes · 12/12/2018 22:34

Loving the irony of your name there. Xmas Grin

Very glad they've got the pain back under control Seafour. And here's hoping for a much better night tonight.

It's pitch black outside in the south east, but I can share a photo of the dreaming spires of Croydon tomorrow if you're interested! Alternatively that may be more depressing than the pitch black.

Izzy24 · 12/12/2018 22:39

Hello everyone!

Love your rainbow Applesin.

I was out to lunch today and has the most amazing velvety smooth chocolate pudding. I’ve brought some back for all of you Wink

Hope you’ve had a peaceful evening Sea. How’s the breathing been today?

Sleep well I hope.

WheresTheCoffee · 12/12/2018 22:40

Glad to hear your more settled Seafour hopefully you've managed to catch up on a bit of rest today.
I've been following but not posting, theres been a lot going on with DS. Cheering you on from the sidelines! I'm East Mids based, will send you a pm and see if we're unknowingly neighbours Grin

TofuPanda · 12/12/2018 22:55

Phew! Just managed to hop onto the new bus. I'm going to sit at the back again, so I can keep an eye on everyone. Wink Gin Cake
I'm glad to read your pain is being managed better Sea. Pain and nausea aside, I hope the surgery has been successful. Are you still seeing the dishy surgeon, or have you gone off him a bit after the hideous time you've been having? Here is the gentlest of hugs, and I can sit with you and handhold for as long as you like. I'll put some moisturiser on my hands first though as winter is really drying them out. I can do yours too, avoiding cannulas obviously. What do you fancy? Something soft & floral? Or something a bit fresher like lemon verbena or orange? Flowers I really hope you get a better sleep tonight.

mineofuselessinformation · 12/12/2018 22:56

Checking in...
And very pleased you have your pca back.
I'm hoping you're asleep by now.
Rest well.

Bobbiepin · 12/12/2018 22:58

@JustanotherCHRISTMASuser01 that's very kind, thank you. This time next week the hard part will be over, for better or worse. Holding out until then.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 12/12/2018 23:06

I know we are all here because Sea summoned us, but I'd like to offer a lovely group hug, for all of us struggling with one thing or another. Snuggle in. Let it all out. It's okay to just be.

What a lovely bunch we have gathered here on the bus - you picked well, our fearless leader! It gladdens my heart to know that so many kind, generous MNers are here. I feel honored to be part of this. Thank you all Flowers

toohottoohot · 12/12/2018 23:13

Thanks Welshcakes, socks much appreciated!!! Need to change my username to 'toocoldtoocold' but can't remember how to?!

InflagranteDelicto · 12/12/2018 23:13

Found you all. Hooray for morphine, ketamine and consultants who listen.

Fluffy blankets and cool cotton pillows in the lurgy corner. Please excuse me while I cough & cross my legs at the same time. Really this to clear for Friday - got a carol concert. We could always have one on the bus ☺️

I can offer cake made by the 10yo, she likes baking and doesn't need much of an excuse... Grin

I know I keep saying it but this is the nicest thread ever on MN, and it’s that way because of you lot.

My wonderful surgeon came to see me today, in his scrubs and yes he is the thing of fantasy. He got wind of my terrible day yesterday and came to check that I was ok. Our NHS can be a truly wonderful thing when hcp’s really care and he does. He had some awesome photos from surgery to show me and my before and after X-rays are breathtaking. He was, as always upset that part of our meticulous planning was not followed, I suffered, he feels upset and frustrated and hopefully lessons will be learned.

I’m nodding off, will sign out for now, good night my lovely friends.
Tonight I have a nurse caring for me who is a lovely, she is exceptional and a credit to her profession.

So glad to hear you’ve (eventually) been listened to Seafour and glad that your pain is more controlled. Hope you’ll get some sleep tonight and feel better again tomorrow. Shame you can’t post a pic of Dr Dishy!

My poor wee baby is full of the cold so it’s looking like a long night. The in laws come this weekend for fake Christmas so lots to do as DH is out of action due to swapping meds. I’m trying to stress less and enjoy it but only partly successful! Tomorrow I am going to treat myself to some gin, I will bring gin cocktails for the bus Gin Xmas Wink

Stopyourhavering64 · 12/12/2018 23:43

seafour sweet dreams , glad you have a caring nurse looking after you tonight, there are still a few of us around I'm glad to say .
I've taken my evening dose of gabapentin and my weekly methotrexate so I'm going to be feeling rough tomorrow...still haven't put up tree! But dd and Ds home from uni at weekend so need to get decorations down from attic and buy Christmas tree!

GreyCloudsToday · 12/12/2018 23:44

Nice looking buns Infraglante

Glad to hear about your Mum Blue glasses I’m a fellow specs wearer!

Send some mousse over here Izzy

Hope you are home with your beautiful boy Gruber

zebrapig · 13/12/2018 00:09

I've been awol for a couple of days due to a teething baby and you suddenly disappear to a new thread! The baby isn't actually really a baby any more, he's one next week

Glad you've had a better day today @Seafour I wish I were closer so I could visit. Days in hospital can be long without company to break it up.

Baby gruber is just adorable, he's the perfect addition to the bus!

Pavlova31 · 13/12/2018 00:41

Just caught the bus again.
Hope you have a peaceful night and Sleep well Seafour Brew Flowers

Applesandpears23 · 13/12/2018 00:54

Checking in on the new thread. Just back from my first proper evening in the pub in over 2 years. I hope the rest of the bus wasn’t woken by me coming in and getting into bed.

MintyT · 13/12/2018 05:53

Good morning Sea, hope you have a good day today, I have my work Christmas party today and I'm really looking forward to it, take care

NicoAndTheNiners · 13/12/2018 06:25

Checking in, climbing aboard!

Morning!

AlbusPercival · 13/12/2018 06:36

Hello all, we ducked off the bus to take DS to chessington last night. He had a wonderful time meeting Father chrietmas and the gruffalo. The gruffalo dressed as Father Christmas is truly a thing of wonder for a 2 year old and I thought the photo might make you smile seafour.

Hope you had a better night

Gah, I nearly missed the bus there, panic over!
I’m glad things are improving a bit and that the lovely surgeon is sorting things out. Long may it continue

JustanotherCHRISTMASuser01 · 13/12/2018 06:55

JustanotherCHRISTMASuser01 · 13/12/2018 06:55
