If you're up and about, why are you awake?

Waves at fellow night owls.

I've just made a pot of coffee, as have a deadline tomorrow and lost ground this afternoon being faint and ill and useless. My blood sugar has zoomed up to 20 after a crappy hypo, but I'm doing ok for now, though obviously would prefer to be in bed.

If you're up and no plans for sleep yet, what are you doing?

Just started a thread - not feeling well and not able to sleep when anxious!

Watching true crime on Netflix to distract me.

DramaAlpaca · 06/12/2018 00:30

I'm watching tv & pottering around on MN. I almost never go to bed before 1am, usually nearer 2am, but I'm actually quite tired so I might head upstairs for an early night in a minute Grin

Just fed the baby and put her back down - only I now can’t get off to sleep myself even though I am shattered!

I’m always awake until about 1.30/2 am , years of being a night nurse have wrecked my body clock despite not having worked for about 4/5 years . I’m watching something about armed police on channel 5 as I’m in a hotel that only has freeview .

Flambola · 06/12/2018 00:31

I suffer from insomnia which gets worse this time of year. I had a stillbirth on Christmas Day 2014 and so far it hasn't got easier.

thelaststraw123 · 06/12/2018 00:32

Living in a new refuge, anxiety is making it hard to sleep

chipsandgin · 06/12/2018 00:35

I’ve been packing for a work trip - will be up at 4.45am to leave at 5.15 & had a phenomenal amount of shit to sort before I leave..it’s like a military operation planning two kids for four days! Will be especially haggard tomorrow & all my colleagues are young & child free so the contrast will be soul destroying. Off to attempt a couple of hours sleep..hope you all get a bit too ;)

SlowNorris · 06/12/2018 00:35

Boswell Angry

FrancesFryer · 06/12/2018 00:35

I'm up because i have had a bad stomach. It's settled down now but I'm worried to go to sleep. Although i have to be up at 5.30 for work

nocoolnamesleft · 06/12/2018 00:37

What do you mean why are we still awake? The night is yet young! (Okay, yes, extreme night owl)

Greensleeves · 06/12/2018 00:37

Incurable insomniac.

HoobleDooble · 06/12/2018 00:37

Just got home from an early Christmas meal out, followed by karaoke at the pub.

HappyGoLuckyGo · 06/12/2018 00:38

I’m three hours behind the U.K. so it’s not that late here but MN makes me feel connected to home :) Waiting for DS to settle back to sleep, been having some problems with him the last few nights. He can now sit up in his cot but doesn’t seem to have worked out how to lie down calmly again.

Ladygaggia · 06/12/2018 00:38

I'm sorry Flambola Sad

I can't sleep because I woke up feeling like something was stuck in my throat and now I'm scared and can't go to sleep

HappyGoLuckyGo · 06/12/2018 00:38

Boswell 😂 Love it

Ollivander84 · 06/12/2018 00:41

My usual sleep pattern. Night owl
Browsing stuff about matching betting and half watching TV

silentcrow · 06/12/2018 00:42

Just a night owl, mostly. Bedtime is usually 12-1am anyway (don't ask when I doze off over my kindle!) but Wednesday nights are double karate class and it takes me a while to settle down after that. And I'm trying to whizz through a book for work, too.

Flowers to those of you who'd rather be asleep, hope you get some rest soon.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 06/12/2018 00:43

I work rotating shifts so don't have a sleep pattern. Not long in from work. DH on nights this week, so watching tv in bed cuddled up with the dogs

Shriek · 06/12/2018 00:44

Oh goodnes laststraw do you have DC with you? I really hope it all works out for you and your life turns around.
Flambola Flowers words fail, did you get support to recover somehow?

I've just got a new sat box and playing switching channels found michael mckintyre's big show!

Eminybob · 06/12/2018 00:44

I take it there’s still no definitive solution on the Boswell thread?

I’m feeding ds2 for the 5th time since coming to bed at 9.45. Every time I put him down I pray he’ll do a longer stretch of 3 or 4 hours but he hasn’t for days. Cluster feeding is a bitch.

Shriek · 06/12/2018 00:45

ladygaggia was that name because of your experience just now!?

notangelinajolie · 06/12/2018 00:48

It's not bed time yet I'm usually still up at this time. Me and DH watching 'A place in the Sun'.

MrsFriskers · 06/12/2018 00:50

Im on a train with loud drunks about me, one braying about his masters. Tedious fucker

Ladygaggia · 06/12/2018 00:50

Lol Shriek, no - but it's apt.
My husbands away, I can't reach him as he has his phone off now and I'm feeling pathetic

Flambola · 06/12/2018 00:50

I'm well supported but I just find the dead of the night difficult. I suffer flashbacks and get anxiety about my 3 year old DD... it's messy. Confused

Might look into this matched betting actually, do you make much from it Ollivander?
