If you're up and about, why are you awake?

Waves at fellow night owls.

I've just made a pot of coffee, as have a deadline tomorrow and lost ground this afternoon being faint and ill and useless. My blood sugar has zoomed up to 20 after a crappy hypo, but I'm doing ok for now, though obviously would prefer to be in bed.

If you're up and no plans for sleep yet, what are you doing?

DS is screaming with earache. DP ( good un that he is) just nipped to Asda for ibuprofen before setting off to work at 5am. We’re watching 20 mins of nightmare before Christmas while it kicks in and then I’m going to try to get us both back to sleep.

It’s spectacularly awful timing as I flew back from the US yesterday, landed at 7am and haven’t slept in 2 days. The joys of parenthood Hmm

TheGhostsOfPresidentsYetToCome · 11/12/2018 05:21

Sorry you’re having such a shit time Toecleavage

SpeckleDust · 11/12/2018 05:23

At the swimming pool for DD1’s training.

Up at 4.20am to be in the pool for 5am. Only once a week this early the moment, thankfully.

A combination of a sore throat/ache all over virus, a DC who has never been a good sleeper, some worries, and nappy duties. I haven't been to sleep yet, and soon the morning alarm will be going off to begin another day.

BlackBeltInPresentWrapping · 11/12/2018 05:40

I saw on another thread that you are an animal lover, Toe. It's lovely that you've got your cat, and she's got you. Flowers

Time to make a cup of tea here.

ToeCleavage · 11/12/2018 05:42

I’m sorry.i was just having a very extreme emotional moment. Thank you, blackbelt and ghosts Flowers

BlackBeltInPresentWrapping · 11/12/2018 05:47

Don't apologise, Toe, you're just being a human, as opposed to a cat, just like the rest of us are. Brew

moolady1977 · 11/12/2018 05:57

I'm awake and really annoyed over it I need to sleep, today is my friends funeral and I had a weird dream about it which woke me up and now I can't get back to sleep

HopeMumsnet · 11/12/2018 10:13

Hey, ToeCleavage,
Sorry to hear you've been feeling so grim. We hope you don't mind but we've deleted your first message as unfortunately it goes against our guidelines. When your sort of post is flagged up to us we usually add a link to our Mental Health resources - here. You can also go to the Samaritans' website here, or email them on [email protected].
Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you will be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek RL help and support as well.
We also like to remind everyone that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.
Much love to all, and strength and peace to you for today, moolady1977.

ToeCleavage · 11/12/2018 19:13

Just to note, I didn’t ASK for anything and that post from mumsnet makes it look like I did. I categorically didn’t! I only expressed how depressed I was feeling. I feel rather horrible now.

Could you clarify that I didn’t do that please, mumsnet?

It was a one off remark basically saying I was sad but in stronger terms than that. I didn’t even say why I was down.

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 11/12/2018 19:19

Toe, it's a standard reply from MNHQ, they use it a lot. Don't take it personally.

How are you doing? Flowers

ToeCleavage · 11/12/2018 19:26

Oh, OK, thanks for clarifying that, SneakyGremlins.

I’m obviously a tad over emotional at the moment.

Thank you again for being kind, lovely people.

And obviously what with @moolady1977s later message it was all rather bad timing

Flowers to all

BlackBeltInPresentWrapping · 11/12/2018 19:38

Don't worry, Toe. I can confirm that you didn't ask for anything, and that Sneaky is right - it's just the standard MNHQ helpful advice message in the circumstances. You could start a thread in Mental Health if you feel you can or want to say a bit more about why you're down - some kind and experienced people in there? And I hope you've got or will seek out some support IRL. Thinking of you and your cat, and wishing you all the best. Flowers

ToeCleavage · 11/12/2018 19:57

Thanks for that , Blackbelt. I think right now I just need a bit of furry cat love.

(Not a euphemism!)

BlackBeltInPresentWrapping · 11/12/2018 20:03

Nothing wrong with that, Toe. I enjoy a bit of The Litter Tray myself. 😻

And very glad to see you're still holding on to a good sense of humour. 😸

moolady1977 · 11/12/2018 20:17

toe I didn't see your post I was just skimming through them and if I upset you I'm really sorry

ToeCleavage · 11/12/2018 20:59

Oh no, moolady that wasn’t at all what I meant.

I didn’t see yours til today either and was reflecting on the bad timing of my initial posts.

Hope you’re OK given what you had to go through today Flowers

ToeCleavage · 11/12/2018 21:02

Have to smile at you enjoying ‘a bit of the litter tray’, BlackBelt

(No idea how to do those)
