If you're up and about, why are you awake?

Waves at fellow night owls.

I've just made a pot of coffee, as have a deadline tomorrow and lost ground this afternoon being faint and ill and useless. My blood sugar has zoomed up to 20 after a crappy hypo, but I'm doing ok for now, though obviously would prefer to be in bed.

If you're up and no plans for sleep yet, what are you doing?

I'm awake just as I was two nights ok because I wake up and can't get back to sleep.
I did fall asleep at 9.30pm so had 4 hours sleep.

I know I'm going to have that awful odd feeling later though and I have to work.

LilyWasThere · 06/12/2018 04:19

Because I've been good and not tested early after our IVF cycle... until now. BFP!!

And now I'm too worried about having yet another miscarriage that I can't get back to sleep.

Because tomorrow I have the first of 10 days of brain radiotherapy for metatastic breast cancer and I’m bricking it slightly!

DrWhy · 06/12/2018 04:26

Feeding the baby again, have also resettled the toddler once - tonight has not been a good night. DS will wake me once his grow click comes on at 7 then DH will crash about like a herd of buffalo getting him and DS ready for work and nursery. Yay.

cherrypiesally · 06/12/2018 04:27

I’m awake as it’s my dad’s funeral today and I’m getting anxious about it.

BlackBeltInPresentWrapping · 06/12/2018 04:29

School and Lily - I hope all goes well for both of you. Flowers

BlackBeltInPresentWrapping · 06/12/2018 04:30

And Cherry too. Flowers

My body clock seems to have set itself to a 4 o'clock wake up, despite the phone alarm going off at 6.30. It's been every might for weeks and weeks. I'm exhausted.

HalfBloodPrincess · 06/12/2018 04:47

Ds (almost 18 months) has decided that 4:05 is an appropriate time to start the day. There’s no way he’s going back to sleep so I have admitted defeat and come downstairs to try and stop him waking up the older dc.
Currently sitting eating dry Cheerios (him) and drinking the strongest coffee known to mankind (me) whilst watching hey duggee on Netflix.

Haze0215 · 06/12/2018 04:52

Toothache!! I've coped with only paracetamol for 3 days due to pregnancy. I can't wait for my dentist appointment tomorrow 😭

Thejezebel · 06/12/2018 04:52

Lack of sleep is soul destroying.

I actually think I may have an iron deficiency. Or something that is dissipating my energy. I can sit wide awake for hours until all hours of the morning. Can I actually get out of bed and shower? Can I fuck! I slump out of bed, completely shattered, exhausted and destroyed. And so the cycle begins for another day of torture.

Thejezebel · 06/12/2018 04:57

I'm also diagnosed as suffering from depression, so maybe that is affecting my sleep pattern and energy levels. Who knows!
I'm so tired of it now. It's so bloody frustrating. I used to go to the gym at the very least 5 days a week, sometimes 7 days a week.
I haven't been to the gym in 6 weeks. I literally have not the energy to scratch myself.
Can I sleep? Ye, some days 4 hours, some days 16 hours.
I think I'm just stressed.

Millie2013 · 06/12/2018 05:11

I’m awake monitoring asthmatic DD’s breathing. She’s on prednisolone so she’s rather restless too!

olderthanyouthink · 06/12/2018 05:45

Fed DD again and haven't gone back to sleep, she's due another feed soon I think 🤦‍♀️

tryinganewname · 06/12/2018 05:47

Myself and 4 month old DD have horrible colds and coughs Sad

Rarfy · 06/12/2018 05:54

starlight45 · 06/12/2018 05:56

Really bad dream.

KillashandraRee · 06/12/2018 05:59

Starlight45 me too Sad at 4.45

Then DS2 has been up twice since so not worth going back to sleep. Brew

preggersteach · 06/12/2018 06:02

Been awake since 3.30, 4 month sleep regression. Losing the will to live

tryinganewname · 06/12/2018 06:05

@preggersteach I feel you on that one, coupled with her having a cold - I might as well just say goodbye to any sleep!

Enigmam · 06/12/2018 06:37

I'm stuck in the habit of waking up at 4am everyday 😩 DP snores frequently throughout the night, which then wakes up DS 13 months, I then have to get DS back to sleep. I have this cycle continuously through the night. I don't know why I even bother to go to bed at all.

1MillionSelfiesTakenByMyKids · 06/12/2018 07:36

and we're up. Thanks dd.
Ugh.

Who knew there were meditation podcasts? A godsend!

Ollivander84 · 06/12/2018 10:56

@Flambola I started with the save the student guide as it literally holds your hand and works it out for you!

AutumnCrow · 06/12/2018 16:06

@Thejezebel I've been thinking of you today.
