Anyone else can't sleep? I didn't go to bed til 1ish last night, but I've already been awake over an hour.

DDog is horrified that I'm up so early (and it's raining here).

Where I am it's 2 hours til grade boundaries released (which I still don't totally understand, but we're hoping for low) and 3 hours til she gets her results. Kettle's on.

I’m here with you

SavageBeauty73 · 23/08/2018 06:16

I'm here with you. I feel sick

IllBeAtTheBarIfYouNeedMe · 23/08/2018 06:16

I’m here too. Dd is sleeping soundly. I’ll probably have to wake her to go and get her results. That kid can sleep.

I actually came on to see if the grade boundaries are out

NearlySchoolTimeAgain · 23/08/2018 06:17

I’m a teacher and I’m awake and excited!

NearlySchoolTimeAgain · 23/08/2018 06:17

AQA grade boundaries - 8am

KeepServingTheDrinks · 23/08/2018 06:19

Oh yay! Hello all. I was REALLY hoping for company. Come and jiggle with me. I watched dawn break this morning. That was grim (it was raining).

Just going to get tea. Anyone else for a cup?

Thank you for joining me.

I think that's my board Nearly. DD's I mean

SavageBeauty73 · 23/08/2018 06:20

I'm making tea too. This was the only time we could go on holiday so my parents are collecting DD's results and FaceTiming us 🤢

She had a lot of time off with health issues so incredibly worried

edamismadebackwards · 23/08/2018 06:21

I'm here too, eldest DD getting results. DH and dogs all snoring. I don't know what grade boundaries means Blush

KeepServingTheDrinks · 23/08/2018 06:22

Right, I've got tea. Who can I hand a cup out to?

If you want coffee, kettle's

KeepServingTheDrinks · 23/08/2018 06:23

My DD's asleep too Bar

Edam, I don't really get it, but we need the boundaries to be low because our kids stand a better chance of getting a good grade if they are. But Gove is a cunt, so they're probably sky high

Morning! Been awake since 5 after not the best night. Been reading the thread in education about grade 9s and grade boundaries feeling a bit mystified by it all and not understanding how people can predict this that and the other. Delayed first work appointment til 10 so hope I am not too emotional!

SavageBeauty73 · 23/08/2018 06:24

@edamismadebackwards thank you! I have no idea what grade boundaries are too 😔

Solomonbitestheworm · 23/08/2018 06:24

I’m here too! I’ve been awake for a while, my daughter stayed at her friends last night, I’m a bag of nerves and she’s all relaxed (not normally!!)
Good luck everyone! Just going to put kettle on!

KeepServingTheDrinks · 23/08/2018 06:25

My DD needs 38 points to get into 6th form. I THINK (given how hard she worked/how well she knew the material/her gut instinct coming out of the exams) she'll have got that. HOWEVER, she also needs to have passed maths, and she thinks she failed that paper.

I'm HOPING that if her grades are good enough, her school will admit her for 6th form if she re-takes.

What's everyone else need?

I wish it wasn't too early to ring my mum!

Flowers to all of you, just for being here.

Thank you. x

Grade boundary - what is needed to get a particular grade. Will a 9 be 90% or 50%?

Solomonbitestheworm · 23/08/2018 06:31

All this points/ average business- makes it so difficult to understand! No sixth form in school here so choice of 2 local colleges. Has a lot of year 10 and beginning of year 11 off with illness so I am just happy she managed to take the exams and we’ll wait and see what happens. Such a stressful time for them (and us!)

SavageBeauty73 · 23/08/2018 06:31

@NearlySchoolTimeAgain bloody hell 😱 hope it's low. I feel sick with worry (and DD is snoring away upstairs)

NearlySchoolTimeAgain · 23/08/2018 06:31

How new grades compare to letters.

GCSE results - kinda hoping I'm not alone.
Bombaybunty · 23/08/2018 06:32

Managed to get to sleep but woke up really early.
30 minutes to go until we can check the school website.

Unless DD does really well, of course. In which case he's an insightful genius

If DD fails, I might have to track him down and punch him [disclaimer - I won't really]

edamismadebackwards · 23/08/2018 06:32

Thanks, Keep, we're NI do not sure if it works the same way.

DD is in a grammar, needs 4B 4C minimum to get back for A-level, I'm sure convinced she's done ok but you know that early morning doubt.....

Iknowwhoyouare123 · 23/08/2018 06:33

I hope they all get what they hope for today Flowers

KeepServingTheDrinks · 23/08/2018 06:33

You're luck Bombay. We can't check until 8
