A song that really touched your soul?

I just stumbled upon a song on youtube for the first time and it made me feel so many emotions that i just cant explain.

The song was 'sailing' by Christopher Cross.

Not a song that left my speechless but rather stopped me in my tracks - Cats in the Cradle by Harry Chapin about a father’s relationship with his son. Made my DH listen to it too, quite a hard listen for a busy man.......

Hope there's someone by Antony and the Johnsons.

Heard it on the radio back in 2005 and had never heard anything like it before- it gave me chills

sadeyedladyofthelowlands63 · 15/08/2018 23:30

Yes to Omaha by Counting Crows, and also by them, Raining in Baltimore.

But the one that left me for dead back in the day was High and Dry by Radiohead.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 15/08/2018 23:32

Colour blind was Counting Crows too. They’re such a great band.

patsywine · 15/08/2018 23:33

Lost without you. I heard it on smooth the other day while driving in the rain. Soothed my soul it did 😊

JeremiahBackflip · 15/08/2018 23:35

Geraldine by Glasvegas.

I actually sobbed. I was having a bit of a tough time and listened to it about 20 times in a row and just sobbed and sobbed. It still takes my breath away.

patsywine · 15/08/2018 23:36

Sorry should have said, lost without you by Freya Ridings I think.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 15/08/2018 23:36

I'd really like to see you tonight By England Dan & John Ford Coley

Heartbreaker by Dionne Warwick

SwedishEdith · 15/08/2018 23:54

I don't have a soul but I do remember stopping what I was doing when I first heard both 'Wuthering Heights' and 'Teenage Kicks'.

bionicnemonic · 15/08/2018 23:58

Anna Begins by Counting Crows. The live version where the backing singers come in makes me shiver
Also Siren Song by Van der Graaf

bionicnemonic · 15/08/2018 23:59

Gosh England Dan and John Ford Coley...so lovely! This thread is so nostalgic!

SheWoreBlueVelvet · 16/08/2018 00:01

Motörhead; I don't believe a Word.

An absolutely Incredible song about fame and being a man and death.
Like Freddy Mercury and Ottis a Reading I always think great singers have one song that predicts their own death.
This is Lenmys. I blub every time.

WishITookLifeSeriously · 16/08/2018 00:04

The song itself is enough to stop you in your tracks but Piece by Piece sung live on American idol is truly breathtaking.

TiredPony · 16/08/2018 00:05

This is so unutterably beautiful that I can't breathe when I listen to it. A beautiful song and a beautiful voice.

PointlessUsername · 16/08/2018 00:06

kissing you by Desree gives me goosebumps.

phoolani · 16/08/2018 00:07

the drugs don't work by the Verve. a friend had just died of an overdose and it left me in bits. still does. in fact the whole album really touches me to the extent i can't listen to it.

MegCleary · 16/08/2018 00:10

Take me to church by Hozier.

Broke me

Condragulations · 16/08/2018 00:10

“Heavan’s not too far away” by We Three. Absolutely stunned me.

And yes to Slow Down 😭
