A song that really touched your soul?

I just stumbled upon a song on youtube for the first time and it made me feel so many emotions that i just cant explain.

The song was 'sailing' by Christopher Cross.

The song that broke me and brings me to tears now every time is, All I Need by AWOLNation.

it's not really a sad song, But when driving to a close friends funeral(who had died suddenly and unexpectedly) I had my songs on random and this came on. I'd been trying to hold myself together, But the song was too much.

Bineverywhere · 16/08/2018 11:12

I heard Wrong Crowd by Tom Odell last week and it made me cry because of the issues we’re having with teenage DS.

MiconiumHappens · 16/08/2018 13:34

Theme tune from Unforgotten.

CaveyLass · 16/08/2018 13:35

Streets of London by Ralph McTell. I first heard it in childhood and was in an abusive home situation with foster carers. It made me realise that I wasn’t the only one in a shit situation and helped me develop a stoic outlook on life which I still have. I’ve always understood that things could be worse for me and sitting around whining isn’t an option when I could be working to improve things.

Ezzie29 · 16/08/2018 13:37

I know it’s over - the smiths. Gateway to my love of the smiths/morrissey and so many of his songs do that to me but this was the first - shame he’s such an arsehole

You don’t see me - josie and the pussycats soundtrack

At seventeen and the come on by Janis Ian

So basically anything about being single or ugly or both Grin

As mentioned, Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah", Kenny Chesney's "There goes my life" & Johnny Cash's "Hurt".

Also, Johnny Cash's "In my life" & a Christmas one I heard a few years ago that looks at the story from Joseph's point of view - Makes me well up just thinking about it!

whattheactualfuckery · 16/08/2018 14:05
