A song that really touched your soul?

I just stumbled upon a song on youtube for the first time and it made me feel so many emotions that i just cant explain.

The song was 'sailing' by Christopher Cross.

Squeeze Labelled with Love

Just something about the loneliness of the woman in the lyrics. I always think of my mum (died of alcoholism last year) when I hear it

Just remembered another.

Say Something, I'm giving up on you by Grooveshop

Secret Garden - Bruce Springsteen

In My Blood by Shawn Mendez at the moment. The lyrics almost exactly describe my experience of anxiety and brought tears to my eyes the first time I heard it

Just when I needed to hear it!

So many....right now, Dynamite Lady by Big Country. Such an achingly beautiful song.

Vienna - Ultravox. Always stops my in my tracks.

Small Bump - Ed Sheeran. Sent shivers through me when I first heard it early in my first pregnancy, and again after I miscarried just before 12 weeks. I didn't click re the sadness of the lyrics the first time I heard it, but certainly did afterwards. It was playing as I drove home from work one day shortly after and I remember the tears just rolling down my face one after another, not even trying to stop them.

Burning Bride by Shilpa Ray. She opened for Nick Cave in Brighton a few years ago and it sent shivers down my spine. We were all mesmerised.

The House of the Rising Sun - The Animals
Bright Eyes - Art Garfunkel

That James song had us all in tears, the video just blew me away. I’m still working my way through the songs on this thread. Graffiti on the Train is brilliant too! Thanks for this great thread.

Arley · 31/08/2018 20:58

Black by Pearl Jam

Will you still love me tomorrow covered by Amy Winehouse

KitchenDancefloor · 31/08/2018 22:54

I was putting together a melancholic playlist based on these amazing songs when I looked up @LaLaLamp's suggestion of So What, by Anti-Nowhere League

Well that changed the mood 😂

3luckystars · 05/06/2020 12:11

Sorry, for replying to an old thread, but I'm working my way through all these songs today. This thread does not age at all. Thanks for all the amazing music!
