In A&E with abdominal pain, back pain, puking. It's busy here and I'm bored. AMA!

How many posters can you see which tell you stuff that is just common sense?
Have you been triaged and is anyone with you?

Hope you've got some supplies - the last time I was in a&e with a croup y child, I was there for 5 hours with no way to get a drink of water!

Six posters!

Been here four hours and still waiting for meds, was triaged within 15 mins.

On my tod and no supplies, I keep puking anyway.

Looks like surgery it seems!

Can you see someone who clearly doesn't need to be there?

Ooh I've got one! How many people can you see "performance patient-ing"?

How many free seats are there?

All I can see is walls! Have heard a few comments from people.

I'm getting pretty pissed off actually, on my notes if says I need female HCPs, female chaperone at very least. Nope Male dr and I just froze.

What are seats? It's utterly rammed here, loads of bedded patients in corridors.

When I go,to any hospital, there is always a nurse or orderly who seem to walk from one side of the waiting room area to the other, briefly disappears out of sight, and then walks back. They are never out of sight for very long, definitely not long enough to do anything. Once they have walked across the room, they return to where they have come from, without having done anything. They whole cycle,is then repeated.

Is there one of these people where you are?

To the other posters, to keep you entertained: silliest A&E story?

Mine is that last year I got a fragment of an earring stuck in my earlobe. GP couldn't do anything as needed anaesthetic to remove. She sent me to A&E (or, technically, to minor injuries - same location and triage at ours). I felt like a right numpty. But they were nice enough about it!

But my question is: matching socks or non matching socks? Where do you stand on this great philosophical divide?

Are they thinking appendicitis or something more interesting?
I managed to injure myself on the way out from A&e once. Was too embarrassed to go back in (had been there with yet another offspring) and my ankle went over, leaving me with badly skinned elbow, wrenched shoulder, and as it later turned out, 2 broken fingers!

Appendicitis was 2016, Cholecystitis was 2017.

Maybe Choledocholithiasis ;) am in overnight it seems.

If you're able to be on your phone, maybe you shouldn't be in A&E?

What on earth, @raficsk? Do you think every accident or serious illness lead to total unconscious? If someone is in pain, why shouldn't they distract themselves as best they can?
