Stojo is the only kind I’ve come across. It works well, does what it needs to!

Our verdict

Earning its place as our best adult stocking stuffer overall, the STOJO collapsible coffee cup is a great gift choice as every adult can use it. Measuring just 4.5cm by 9cm when folded, this cute and compact travel mug is a perfect go-to for holding your beverages when you’re on the go.

It can handle both piping hot coffee and refreshing iced tea, and is made with LFGB-certified, food-grade silicone that not only makes it durable but also thermally resistant. So, drinks will stay at the right temperature.

Dh and I don’t tend to buy each other stuff outside of Christmas as we’re on a budget, so we make a thing of it. It’s mainly stuff he can eat or drink on the day...

Our verdict

Admittedly, this chocolate choice is pricier than your usual Cadbury Heroes and Celebrations. But, given that it’s for a Christmas stocking, we feel it’s okay to share these more luxurious chocolates that would make a great gift for a loved one or a treat for yourself. Plus - they’re not just milk chocolate. They’re caramel infused milk chocolate fingers, made with solid chocolate (not like Cadbury’s fingers) and since there’s 15 batons included, there’s plenty to share but not too many that you can’t scoff them all yourself in one sitting.

Best adult game

You and Me 50 Nights of Intimacy Game, £15

What we like
  • Great for injecting fun into your sex life

  • Discreet packaging when delivered

  • Highly rated by Mumsnet users

What we don't like
  • Could be tame for some

  • Not one to open in front of your in-laws!

Key specs

RRP on writing: £15 | Contents: 45 forfeit cards for each player, four special cards, one joker, one dice, one sand timer

Our verdict

If you want a stocking filler that will inject some spice into your relationship, this fun game from Ann Summers comes highly rated. It’s filled with creative ideas to spice things up and designed to help push you and your partner out of your comfort zone. There’s also a big focus on intimacy, which is great if you’re feeling a tad shy.

You’ll get two sets of cards, one for women and one for men, plus a dice. The game is at a good price and the packaging is fairly discreet to save your blushes. Although, it’s one we don’t recommend opening in front of your MIL.

Our verdict

UNIQLO’s cross-body bag - or UNIQLO’s Round Mini Shoulder Bag, as it’s officially known - has been one of the hottest products of 2023. Its popularity shows no signs of slowing down following the recent release of UNIQLO’s corduroy and faux leather ranges. So, we suspect it’s going to appear in a lot of gift piles on Christmas morning this year. At just £15, it’s an incredibly affordable accessory and fits all of your essentials inside in a Mary Poppins-esque fashion.

Whiskey stones are a great idea.

Our verdict

Whisky stones came up multiple times on our Talk boards and it’s no surprise as to why. These stones are such a clever idea. They keep your beverage nice and cold without melting like traditional ice cubes and diluting the taste of your beverage. Just pop them in the freezer for at least four hours and they’re good to go.

Candy Kittens sweets. Expensive but vegetarian and yummy flavours. The children and husband are not allowed near them!
See Post

Our verdict

Christmas is the time to indulge our sweet tooth and we are fans of Made in Chelsea Jamie Laing’s Candy Kittens’ range.

Not only are they delicious but the brand is really ethical, producing vegan and gluten-free sweets and ensuring their packaging is carbon-neutral. They are more expensive than many sweets on the market but for the taste and brand principles, it may be worth splurging and would make a lovely stocking stuffer.

Falke socks - great quality, super soft and last for ages!

Our verdict

Socks may not sound like the most exciting gift but a gorgeous pair of cashmere socks that will keep your feet nice and toasty are always a welcome idea.

This pair from FALKE are highly rated by customers and Mumsnetters also love the brand. They have reinforced stress zones for durability so they are really built to last. Perfect if you love a stomp on those crisp winter mornings. Although, some customers have commented on the lack of size options, as they only come in S/M and M/L.

Best sex toy

A new toy …something like a Womaniser? Encourage her to reawaken the sexual side of herself, for herself, first.
See Post

Our verdict

Admittedly, it’s an expensive choice for a stocking filler but judging by the reaction in our Mumsnet forums, the Womanizer OG dual vibrator is the gift that just keeps giving… Orgasms. With its unique Pleasure Air Technology, the Womanizer OG is not just a vibrator, but a G-spot and clitoral stimulator that focuses specifically on providing intense and targeted climaxes.

Thanks to its Smart Silence feature, it’s discreet to use, waterproof, and the afterglow feature helps you to wind down after reaching Mt. O. There’s three vibrations, with 12 pulsating intensities to help you achieve blended, multiple orgasms.

Looking for something more affordable? If you’re keen on the idea of a cheaper sex toy as an adult stocking filler but don’t want to splurge, then we also recommend Ann Summers’ 5" Sleek Classic Vibrator that’s under a tenner.

I always use AirTags. It's such a relief when you get to the baggage hall and even if you don't see your bag immediately, you can confirm that it made the flight and is in the same airport as you. It's one less thing to worry about!
See Post

Our verdict

You don’t need to be a gadget geek to appreciate the pros of an Apple AirTag. This handy piece of tech allows you to track your luggage when you’re travelling (or you’re just the type of person who loses things, a lot) and gives you peace of mind should something valuable go missing, like a suitcase or a laptop bag.

You can also attach this to your keyring to avoid the stress of lost keys and some people even place them in their wallets or purses.

Wondering what to get for the music lover in your life? These vinyl coasters are a quirky and cute gift idea. For less than a tenner, you get a set of six and they’re highly rated on Amazon. The only downside is some customers say the small hole in the middle can let moisture through. Something to consider if you want to protect your table!

Our verdict

Want to get something for the gin lover in your life but not sure what flavours they’ll love? This gift set from Edinburgh Gin offers 12 bottles in various flavours, including their raspberry flavour, which is a hit with Mumsnet users. It’s also presented in a beautiful card box, although that may be hard to fit into your traditional stocking. Unless you opt for a larger sack design!

What is a good stocking filler for an adult?

According to several of our Mumsnet users, a good stocking filler for an adult is something that’s either edible or something that’s “needed, but nicer than usual”, according to user JustFrustrated

Underwear, socks, chocolate, hair care items, notepads and pens, pyjamas, lip balm… All of these practical items have been suggested by our users at one point or another. We’ve tried to pick product recommendations that adhere to this rule - but there are a few splurge-worthy items in our roundup of the best adult stocking fillers for your perusal.

If you’re still stuck, there is a rule of four you can follow to help: something they want, something they need, something they can wear, and something they can read. Of course, you can personalise these to suit the recipient's taste but it sure does make picking a stocking stuffer gift easier when you’ve no idea where to start.

Do you need to wrap Christmas stocking presents?

A very personal choice but traditionally stocking fillers aren't wrapped. That will save you time and money but if you still want to achieve that element of surprise, you can add wrapping or even tissue paper.

If you do choose to wrap, why not opt for more sustainable wrapping or papers without glitter or shine so they can still go in the recycling bin?

How we choose our recommendations

First up, we sought out the trusted opinions of Mumsnet users to get their insights on the stocking fillers they think will work for adults. Be that sexy toys, luxury items or clever pieces of tech. We then scoured online retailers for products that had significant positive reviews. Weighing up any pros and cons, we then selected the best stocking fillers for adults for each category - trying to find something to suit every taste and budget.
