My DH has written a book that traces the development and transformation of "woke" ideologies from their origins in the 1900s to the present day. It's a "history of ideas" approach that draws on history, philosophy, politics, sociology and other disciplines within the humanities and social sciences. But it is not an academic textbook. He is at the stage where he'd like some of his target audience (serious general lay reader, requiring no specialised prior knowledge) to give him critical feedback on whether he's being successful in conveying this complex subject in an accessible way. It's 80,000+ words long, so not a quick read. But he's looking more for generalised feedback than nitty-gritty editorial help.
