Currently I can't vote Green, Labour, LD or Reform. They're all just different colours of bonkers, with Reform and the Greens even more bonkers than the other two.

I have never been as demoralised by the state of politics in the UK as I am now, and I thought it was bad a few years ago.

I feel another email to Sarah coming on. She wants to stand as Lib Dem candidate for London Mayor and of course there is a lot of competition from the Greens, so I suspect that explains her going out to bat on this issue as several years ago she seemed quietly supportive of the gender critical position.

The only other party that has a chance of winning in her constituency is the Conservatives, and they would have lost a huge chunk of the local vote after Brexit, and more recently because eventually everyone hated the Conservatives.

The constituency was Lib Dem from 1997 until 2010 (when Cameron managed to convince Richmond types that the Conservatives were no longer nasty) and Richmond Council is 100% Lib Dem.

Before 1997 much of the constituency was Richmond and Barnes, and that was Conservative through the Thatcher years, but with only a small majority over the Liberals.

Many locals will like the LibDems' consistent opposition to the third runway at Heathrow, even when they were in government.

Tbf Sarah Olney only became an mp in 2016 - she won the by election caused by Zac Goldsmith standing down to run for Conservative mayor of London and she has held it ever since, with an ever increasing majority. But why?

There is nothing in the Equality Act or the guidance that prevents unisex provision (whether or not anyone on this board would support it). The only thing you definitely can't do is create a service for women and then allow men to use it, because then it is no longer a service for women. This is not discrimination. It's just how logic and the material world work.

The Equality Act specifically says that people covered by the PC of gender reassignment must have provision, and if ED and SO genuinely cared about this they would be campaigning for more unisex provision. But they don't, so they come up with platitudes without bothering to engage.

God, politics and politicians in this country are so painfully dim.

This isn't about guidance, it's about the law of this country. A silly little vote by a party of no consequence cant change that.

It does however give me real insight into which party's not to vote for.

If they want to change the law to lessen womens rights, let's have it out there in an open and transparent way. The Denton playbook doesn't work anymore.

Davey had some decent policies on care. Probably because he has a personal interest in the subject.

People have been voting Libdem in South West London (Ed Davey and Sarah Olney's patch) for decades. They appeal to people who don't quite want to vote Labour, but think the Conservatives aren't very nice.
