Ooh that's a good one Wishes. I too feel that this taxation thing is FAR TOO COMPLICATED for my female brain to handle - particularly the money that my employer deducts at source. Similarly some speed limits - obviously for me only, I wouldn't want the other idiots on the road breaking them. And property ownership, again only when it applies to other people, I don't want anyone getting their thieving mitts on my stuff; but some people have houses with swimming pools and I instinctively feel that they should be mine really.

I know. I'm thinking about explaining to HMRC about how I'm not sure I wholly agree with being taxed, and will wait for guidance. Properly written of course, and put through the HoC. After which I will say I am still finding it complicated and so need guidance about the guidance, and still feel I know better anyway, and since obeying the law is now apparently a matter of personal choice, that will be fine, won't it?

-Fine. Lovely. There's a mixed sex facility over there where it doesn't matter, where you're entirely free to be yourself, and you don't have to be restricted to only a choice of your sex based provision. Have a lovely time.

-But I want to use the single sex provision because I like the feel of that best, even though I know it excludes women from their only available provision, and makes many others uncomfortable, unwelcome and subordinated to my (male) dominance of the resources.

-No, because that's unreasonable, selfish, unnecessary and frankly anti social. Other people have needs too.

And it is only men. No women with gender identities are going to be harassing, dominating and driving men out of the men's single sex provision, a) because the men won't have it, and won't be expected to, b) they wouldn't dare, and c) however women might personally identify they don't behave like this to other people.

Before anyone points it out, I realise that the counter argument is that trans women are women, but to the vast majority of people (and the law) they’re not.

What do you think would happen if your trans child attempted to access the pond that aligned with their gender identity? Would it be "welcome in fellow geezer" or would it be "fuck off woman"?

Absolutely and I am incredulous that anyone can’t see the injustice of this. Born men can swim in three pools. Some women can’t swim in any. Make it make sense.

Women who love to enjoy the pools in a mixed sex environment have a mixed sex pond in which they can have a lovely time, and men with gender identities can be there, with women, as their alternative to preferring not to use the facilities of their sex.

Neither group need to righteously deprive women of single sex spaces and equality of access. It is obviously mad that men have a choice of three pools while smugly enjoying that they are preventing some women from having any access to a pool at all. It's appalling and selfish behaviour.

It's the same old misogynist energy that is deployed to pretend it's women complaining about what men have said or done to them that is the problem rather than what the man said or did.

It never even crosses their mind to consider the "nastiness" starts with the man who choses to insult, exclude or objectify a woman. Their finger points only at the woman who didn't do her duty of smiling and sucking it up to keep things "nice".

I doubt that you would have had a satisfactory response from the management sadly. That was, as you say, harassment. It was wildly inappropriate and transgressing boundaries.

It was obvious sexual harassment.

We left feeling so uncomfortable, because if the harassment itself but actually at a deeper level because we felt our response was gagged for fear of being accused of transphobia. Not that either of us would have said anything centring their trans identity, but anything that amounted to ‘I don’t want to discuss my breasts with you’ could end up with the well worn accusation.

A few years on and with the benefit of hind sight we would now be prepared with a much more robust response. My friend did her best to Grey Rock until I manufactured an ‘urgent distraction’ to end the conversation.

Yes absolutely. I understand your opinion on that, mine is more about ‘treat others how you want to be treated’. There’s a lot of awful behaviour that we need to stand up against, but it’s important to me to remain decent as I do so.

But I’ve seen that a lot on this forum. There’s always screenshots of things posted on x or bluesky or Reddit or fb to here and vice versa. Why should these people get any different treatment?im of the opinion if you don’t want people to know you said something… don’t say it.

It’s not about shame - I don’t know how they’d feel about it, but I don’t think it’s good form to take screenshots of peoples names from one part of the internet and paste it elsewhere without their knowledge or consent. However daft the opinions posted may be. I don’t think we win any hearts or minds with that kind of behaviour. Anyway, op has agreed.

There is a mixed bathing pond on the Heath as well as the Ladies and the men's.
The fact that these TIMs insist on invading the females only space rather than using the Mixed pond shows their lack of good faith.
If they really felt like women they wouldn't insist on upsetting women and invading their segregated spaces.
Meaning many women no longer use those facilities.
It's all cock eyed.
No pun intended. But why should the majority be deprived in order to placate these noisy outliers.
TIMs if you are genuine in your identity and motives please use the mixed pond.
Otherwise I'll continue to think you are there for purposes other than swimming.

So what would be the best way to protest in your opinion? I’m of the idea every time someone sees a penis in the women’s pond, they point and laugh. Shame the exhibitionists.
