Hang on. I thought trans women in female toilets were never a threat. In fact a trans person at my work told me this never happened…

And that's it isn't it. I will, because people like you put me off engaging or seeing any evidence.

based on the trans people I know. Sorry I don't know any rapey ones.

I think if you suggest on a thread about a transwoman raping a child that a man who ‘feels like a woman’ wouldn’t be raping anyone then you have little interest in seeing evidence. I mean what will ever be robust enough to trump ‘I don’t know any rapey ones’?.

For the same reason as you as I imagine.

The knowledge that the rates (as per the prison stats) of sexual offences committed by the TIM population are far higher than the rates for other men.

You can do what you like. You can ignore the evidence (transwomen who have raped people) and make the statement you made. You can also suggest you’re comfortable with some special men in some of your ‘female only’ spaces, but not others. Based on what? Who knows? Others can consider that to be an incoherent position.

It's a bit distasteful to be so gleeful about a young girl being raped because it supports a point you're trying to make.

Nobody is being gleeful.
Hmm

So would he serve his time in a female prison in Germany?
He should get 3 1/2 years for abusing the dog never mind the poor child and the possession of CSA images

Yes I would think so

I didn't realise there were stages....can I move to the next one if I agree with everything you say?

I wonder if this case
might bring about a bit of reverse ferreting in Germany?

I’m sure he identifies as innocent as well.

Why don't you think men should have access to women and girl's spaces such as toilets and changing rooms?

If you’ve got to this stage in the debate and still consider that all transwomen feel like (whatever that mean) and want to be women so much “they wouldn't be raping people with their penis” I’m hard pressed to know what you understand the least. The debate? Sexual offenders? Rape?

I didn't realise there were stages....can I move to the next one if I agree with everything you say?

SirChenjins · 15/09/2026 21:17

I see. No, I don't think any transwomen should automatically have access to female spaces. It wouldn't bother me personally for transwomen to be in some of my spaces (women's knitting club, casual non competitive run club - couldn't care less), but not all of them (changing rooms at the pool, competing against me in what should be a biological only women's run, no thanks) and I completely understand why others would rather keep all women's spaces biological women only.

And do think by patronising me with a 'bless' I'm going to change my mind and think 'oh gosh back to lurk is right I'm changing my opinion now'?

I'm Interested in peoples views of both sides of the trans debate, but as I said before it's impossible to have reasonable discussions online which is why I barely bother with this board. If you want people to listen to your views or understand your pov, patronising them isn't the way to make it happen.

I didn’t say YOU did. Your second paragraph talked about hating the hyperbole of people thinking TW are all perverts in accessing female spaces. That was the bit of your post I was responding to, by disagreeing that’s what people think. Hence why I quoted it.

I said 'some' people.

There have been posters before who say that women should have single sex spaces, as you said, but who then go on to say that "genuine transwomen" should be allowed in female single sex spaces.

It wasn't clear to me from your post whether you thought that "genuine transwomen" should be allowed in female single sex spaces or not hence my question

And where do I say transwomen should have access to women's spaces? - that's your hyperbole. I literally said the opposite.

It's been made very clear to us over the years that we must accept that the possessors of girl dicks can use them how they please.

No one assumes ALL TW want access to female spaces to do pervy things - that’s your hyperbole. But basic safeguarding is that males are not allowed access to female spaces. For safety, privacy and dignity. Same reason as teachers can’t be alone with a child till their DBS check has come through. No one hyperbolises that teachers are perves though or objects to the DSB.

And before anyone says DSB checks aren’t foolproof - I know. The point is that no one objects to them or feels the finger is being pointed at them if they’re asked to complete one. Yet require a TW to use male facilities and apparently it’s because we think they’re all pervert rapists.

And where do I say transwomen should have access to women's spaces? - that's your hyperbole. I literally said the opposite.

I already answered that question in my previous post.

How do you square that with the current situation in Germany where a man who says he's a woman therefore is a woman, with the access to spaces that belong to women and girls? Because that is the end result of this.

DialSquare · 15/09/2026 20:28

Nemorth · 15/09/2026 19:45

The poor victim was the daughter of a FRIEND of the perpetrator.

Horrific. That poor girl.

PensionPTake The desire to rape someone will come down to the individual and not how they identify.

This supports the argument that a transwoman is as likely, or as unlikely, to commit a rape as any other individual biological male.
The fact that an individual man identifies as women does not change 'the [possible] desire to rape someone'.

This is the reason for keeping trans-IDing men, out of women-only spaces.

The French feminist Dora Moutot is facing a fine and possible imprisonment for saying exactly what you said - that because a man identifies as a transwoman does not remove the risk that he will rape:
Dora Moutot on X: "Dear English Followers: on May 20, 2026, I learned that I had been convicted by French court for stating: “As women, we are compelled to be wary of people with penises.”This conviction marks a deeply troubling turning point for freedom of expression in France. You can read more … / X

In France, Dora Moutot convicted of transphobia for identifying a TW as male when asked. | Mumsnet

Well I don't live in France so don't think I'm going to convicted by a French court any time soon.

Genuinely evil, and yet another instance of a sexually violent police officer harming a child.

1 in 10 Met officers here investigated for serious sex offences. How are we ever meant to trust the police when they're not vetted properly?

Their gender is irrelevant. Their personal responsibility is what matters and oh my god what a horrific individual. That poor child.

Using that child's pain to further your transphobia, and posting with (as someone else pointed out) a horribly snarky comment, is something I can't comprehend. The victim is who matters, always.

On this very thread we have had yet another repetition of the common lie that by definition men who identify as women will not be a threat to women and girls.

This is not true. Some aren't, but some of them definitely are. And since there is no way of telling, when you encounter them, whether their identification is sincere or put on, arguing about whether or not those individuals are "really" transwomen is pointless.

It is a very dangerous falsehood because when it is believed, it leads women and girls to drop their guard if men present as women. Cases like this should therefore be publicised in order to warn other women and girls that there is a risk.
