BBC2 Politics Live today - Samantha Niblett MP says the new EHRC guidance won’t keep anyone safe

Samantha Niblett, Labour MP thinks that the EHRC guidance is not going to keep anyone safe, not even gender critical women (who just hate trans people) because now any man can enter a women’s space and say he is a trans man.
Apparently you can’t tell the difference between a man and a trans man.

She was on Politics Live today and the section starts at about 23:30.

The bit about how if she was getting changed and a trans identified man came in she’d go to a cubicle to stop him feeling awkward.

Hope those women locked up with male rapists are being as sensitive.

It's quite worrying the absolute muppets that get into these positions.

Mine has explained that they absolutely want women to have single sex spaces but that they 'shouldn't start from a position of exclusion' - to men, presumably?
How the hell does that work ffs?

There was a journalist who challenged her but she wasn’t having any of it.

The ‘you can’t tell the difference between a 6ft hulking bloke and a trans man was a new one on me!

She was also implying that the risk to women was worth accommodating the tiny minority of men who are struggling with their identity, and most women are attacked by men in their own homes anyway.

It was all very polite but they did. The two other women basically said we're where we are because TW took the piss.

Samantha Niblett had a pained expression the whole time. She said its now easier for men to get into womens spaces because they can claim to be TM.

That confused the panel. They've obviously seen The Odyssey.

Niblett arguments were lightweight. Basically we wouldn't know TW were trans, its only a small number, most abuse is in the home from men we know. Never once talked about the needs of trans identifying women. Funny that.

Its amazing how politicians would rather look stupid than go against this ideology.

If she thinks single sex spaces are an impossible dream, why does she think they exist?

Men have always been able to claim to be trans or non binary, or a woman, they could claim to be a cleaner, they can walk in when no one is looking.

That doesnt mean that single sex spaces are not legal and needed.
