Interesting essay which brings together the many different factors that have got us where we are now and nothing to do with far right funding.

I really like the focus on embodiment, maybe because I grew up in a church where there was an attempted complete separation between the body and the soul, which had very deleterious effects on my self-esteem in particular and psyche in general.

No, we're not a soul piloting a body. No, the soul cannot control the body (if it did, I wouldn't be short-sighted, for example). That belief, that I was a pure soul incarnated into an imperfect body, did so much harm to me, that I guess I'm particularly sensitive to the reality that I am absolutely embodied, and I cannot separate some essence that would be the True Me from my body.

Thank you for linking to this, it's very clear and well-structured, and I like that it sticks very much to deep ideas of experience and embodiment and so on.
A valuable approach to the topic.

That was an excellent article, thank you for posting.

A very good read. The undermining of safeguarding children by the trans mob is one of the most shameful aspects of all this. We now have countless young people harmed and continuing to be harmed as a result of their trusted adult's refusal or inability to safeguard them.

"Historically, cross-sex identification associated with fetishism was largely understood as an adult phenomenon emerging after puberty. Today’s cultural framework introduces children to the possibility that they may possess an invisible identity fundamentally different from their bodies."

Excellent essay. I also think the idea of the 'trans community' is really harmful. What kind of community consists primarily of middle-aged men and indoctrinated young people?

One that is ripe for grooming and sexual exploitation of predominantly autistic children. It has the bonus observed in religious cults - that detransitioners face shunning for 'breaching the faith', after having been encouraged to cut off the original family and friend group.

"Children rely on adults to help orient them toward reality.

When adults instead present embodiment as optional or uncertain, they may unintentionally encourage confusion rather than resolve it."

This needs to pinned on every page.

Allowing children to think that sex is categorised on anything but the materially real and provable reproductive role their bodies are formed around performing (even if their bodies don’t in the future produce the gametes their body type was formed to do) has a destabilising impact.

Thanks, a interesting read, I've watched a lot of the shorts she posts on YT, she always makes sense.

This should be said to every 'trans' parent, you're causing your childs problem not solving it.
