Being trans right now is to be institutionally discriminated against. It’s having to worry about where and when you can go to the loo. Which is fucking outrageous. That this should happen under a so called Labour government is unforgivable.

Meanwhile we stagger on. If you want backup using a toilet I’m yours. I’ll walk into the ladies with you and tell people to back the fuck off if I have to. I will walk into the men’s too if I have to, so everyone is scandalised at me while you get a chance to sneak in and have a piss in peace. The situation is ludicrous - what I can do is a drop in the ocean, but drop I will.

Maybe I need to print myself a t-shirt that says fighting for the freedom to piss in peace. I don’t know. The world is on fire both metaphorically and literally, yet of all the things one could do a big chunk of people have chosen to gang up on a vulnerable minority. It’s like watching people dig their own graves.

I can see why women were/are sympathetic to these men. Being gender non conforming in certain situations is scary, and generally, women dont want to see anyone hurt.

But what is gender non conforming about verbally abusing women? Or being angry, or ignoring womens boundaries?

If these men were genuinely gender non conforming, they would work towards finding solutions to their own problems and not expect every women to be their mothers and social workers.

Keeptoiletssafe · 05/08/2026 14:55

The OP has the toilets of the sex they are, the accessible and the universal.

Non ambulant people have the accessible, usually not single sex. The ‘ambulant’ design in single sex accommodation maybe suitable if they can move a few steps as it has grab bars and the door opens outwards.

Non ambulant people that need a hoist etc can’t use ‘standard’ accessible, they need a changing places toilet. There’s an estimated 250,000 people in the UK that need these.
https://www.changing-places.org

Meanwhile, many people are left in tears as there’s no toilets for them to use. This affects women, girls, elderly, medical vulnerable and disabled people more than an able bodied man.

Why is it all about loos? This guidance also applies to many other places including prison and rape crisis centres. Remember Karen White, the rapist put in a female prison because he said he was trans,
halfway through police investigations? Lo and behold he goes and sexually assaults four women!! Who’d have thought it eh!!

This guidance ensures that will never happen again, I want to know why every right thinking person is not supporting it.

Because some male people appear to have based their entire identity on getting to pee in the same bit of ceramic thst female people have pee'd in.

It is deeply deeply weird and very insulting to female people, who continue to exist, continue to be female and continue to need female-only resources, support and indeed language to deal with the reality of being us in a society built by and for the male-bodied.

Helleofabore · 05/08/2026 14:54

You know, I am marvelling at the fact that OP has pretty much admitted that they don’t understand consent, safeguarding or boundaries.

Walking into any toilet to ‘back up’ people who wish to use them regardless of the sex that facility is for is a sure sign of having no understanding of consent, safeguarding and boundaries.

You should certainly campaign for more unisex provision if there isn't sufficient.

In the meantime, Costa Coffees are plentiful and they usually have unisex toilets.

I will walk into the men’s too if I have to, so everyone is scandalised at me while you get a chance to sneak in and have a piss in peace.

Thank you for telling us, but this seems to be a men's problem, and this site is predominantly used by women.

I mean, we are all walking phenotypes, even cis people, and to assume that there are no deviations from a hard-line biological distinction set out in genetic code seems un-scientific and unreasonable to expect in an age that has long-since accepted nature V's nature is a false distinction. The idea we are all equipped with skills that makes chromosomes, hormonal profiles and gonads 100% observable with clothes on seems nonsensical in this day and age. But moreover, there is no sense in creating division where statistics do not back up any of the widespread danger claims that are being touted around. I doubt any trans people are here to read this, but if you are, panic not. Trans people are always going to be here so society needs to adapt to you, not the other way around.

I'm fighting back the urge to write
PARKLIFE!
after all that.
Ooops I just lost the fight😏

The idea we are all equipped with skills that makes chromosomes, hormonal profiles and gonads 100% observable with clothes on seems nonsensical in this day and age.

That doesn't even come close to my list of things that 'seem nonsensical in this day and age', whereas 'the idea that it is possible to change your biological sex' is in the top ten.

But if you think it's true that it's problematic that 'chromosomes, hormonal profiles and gonads' are not '100% observable with clothes on', all the more reason to do the simple thing, and just use the facilities which are designated for your biological sex - which is 100% knowable.

If everybody did that, there's be no need for your complicated chromosomes, hormonal profiles and gonads-spotting skills.

There's a lot of nonsensical stuff going on in this day and age, so why invent new nonsensical stuff with complications that needn't exist?

Biological males, use the men's, biological females, use the women's.
You know which you are. Just do it.

Pingponghavoc · 05/08/2026 14:49

It's been said a million times, but its worth repeating.

Single sex services are needed for legitimate reasons. They wouldnt be able to exist if not.

Trans people do not change sex. They may have identification in the opposite sex, but that does not change their sex.

If a provider has established that single sex service are legitimate, including the opposite sex makes no sense. It negates the orginal aim.

If trans people want to remove SSE, and create 'gendered' spaces, they are free to lobby the government.

To do this they have to define 'gender' and established need based on this gender, and demonstrate that SSE are no longer needed.

Getting cross and insulting women on a feminist board on a parenting website will not achieve this.

Happy tucking.

The people with trans identities who are decent people will follow the law.

If they do not want to use the toilet facilities for their sex, they will need to do a tiny bit more planning to ensure that unisex facilities are available at their destination.

As mentioned upthread, this is not a big deal at all compared to the huge issues that people with severe disabilities have to plan around and are restricted by.

So, the people with trans identities who want to use toilets for validation of their identity and refuse to follow the law, just out themselves as non-decent people. Those egging them on... also out themselves as non-decent people.

Yeah, I know about people with phenotypical deviations.

I refer you to my previous posts about lacking public provision for people with disabilities.

Disabled people are always going to be here, so society needs to adapt to them, not the other way around.

Thank you for your rational response, although the very fact there have been reports - rather than serious engagement - hugely underlines the major issue to which I'm alluding 🙄

It’s a bit hard to have any “serious engagement” with such nonsense 🤣

Over on trans reddit the boys are either furious or excited at the idea of being found in the ladies.

Either way, it includes lots of violent and misogynistic language.

Good work fellas.

Yep.

GreyskySexRealistsky · 05/08/2026 14:14

Well said @AstonUniversityPotholeDepartment

There are people in this country who genuinely struggle to leave the house due to lack of appropriate toilet provision.

It's honestly salt in the wound to read posts like the OP's. It's like OP phrased it deliberately to demonstrate exactly how little they care or know about the plight of people with severely limited mobility.

Just this week I was with a disabled man who can't leave his house for more than two and half hours because of the urinary leash. That seems like a long time, but realistically, it's not. Forty minutes on the bus to the shops, and forty minutes back leaves you a scant hour and 10 minutes to go round the shops. There's no time for pottering, casual browsing, or chatting. It's in and out of the shops and dashing for the bus back, quick.

just piss in the gents men, it’s not difficult.

WallaceinAnderland · 05/08/2026 14:29

It’s having to worry about where and when you can go to the loo.

All mothers have had to find facilities that accommodate them, their baby. toddlers, changing bags, buggy and all. They can't just leave them all outside the cubicle while they pee or get changed, they have to plan their outings accordingly as a routine part of life.

I suggest you do the same OP.

BridgetYourFortyDaysAreUp · 05/08/2026 14:28

Trans people are always going to be here so society needs to adapt to you, not the other way around.

And therein lies the problem in a nutshell. If you start from this assumption, you'll never grow up.

Duckyfondant · 05/08/2026 14:28

I don't think this is a new OP, I've heard this spiel before. It's a woman with no tolerance for other women and their need for privacy/dignity/a feeling of safety.

I can only echo the previous posts about disability. Disabled children being changed on public toilet floors. Disabled adults and children unable to stay out of their homes because of an actual lack of suitable facilities. Now that's a fight worth having.

Iheartmysmart · 05/08/2026 14:26

Lordy OP, you just need to pee in the toilets appropriate for your biological sex. It’s not rocket science. Nobody is discriminating against trans people, women are simply taking back the rights stolen from us by a group of men who had no right to take them in the first place.

If you are worried the world is on fire, perhaps you could go and pee on some flames and help put them out. Kill two birds with one stone so to speak.
