Pissed you can't piss in peace

Being trans right now is to be institutionally discriminated against. It’s having to worry about where and when you can go to the loo. Which is fucking outrageous. That this should happen under a so called Labour government is unforgivable.

Meanwhile we stagger on. If you want backup using a toilet I’m yours. I’ll walk into the ladies with you and tell people to back the fuck off if I have to. I will walk into the men’s too if I have to, so everyone is scandalised at me while you get a chance to sneak in and have a piss in peace. The situation is ludicrous - what I can do is a drop in the ocean, but drop I will.

Maybe I need to print myself a t-shirt that says fighting for the freedom to piss in peace. I don’t know. The world is on fire both metaphorically and literally, yet of all the things one could do a big chunk of people have chosen to gang up on a vulnerable minority. It’s like watching people dig their own graves.

A plopper who complains about lack of engagement, to boot.

TisEye · 05/08/2026 15:33

I thought this was going to be about trying to find 2 minutes to yourself with small children.

It's just a plop-scold.
Disappointing.

The poster was being sarky to the OP

You are right though, that this used to be said to women who didn't want men in their toilets. But it applies equally to TRAs, they just can't see it.

nicepotoftea · 05/08/2026 14:58

Doesn't this particularly affect women because it is less easy for them to use another receptacle for urinating while out and about?

This seems to be another example of why women need sex based rights.

Actually, that's a good point. My area of expertise/lived experience [delete as applicable] relates more to people whose disability is too severe for that level of work around, but I can see that some men with impaired mobility, but to a lesser extent, might be able to use a urinary bottle inside a standard accessible toilet, whereas a woman with the same level of mobility impairment just couldn't.

"The idea we are all equipped with skills that makes chromosomes, hormonal profiles and gonads 100% observable with clothes on seems nonsensical in this day and age."

Well, there's the small matter of skeletal features such as shape of skull, angle of pelvis etc which tell humans instinctively whether someone else is a man or a woman. We might be in the 21st century but these things don't change.

WallaceinAnderland · 05/08/2026 15:29

"I'm a sexist twunt who just sees female people as stereotypes rather than fully realised human beings"

Straight from The Book of Reddit (I wish I was joking) :

"If you're a passing trans women (ESPECIALLY if you're short, weak, wear a lot of perfume, have big konhongeroogas, and a fat, juicy ass), use the men's bathroom/changing rooms. Shave your legs smooth and wear a skirt. Maybe a short one. Go goth for a day. Show off your cleavage. Soften your voice."

RoyalCorgi · 05/08/2026 15:02

You have a gender-neutral bathroom at home, so why does it bother you?

Hahahahahha.

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 05/08/2026 15:28

If you can't use the toilets for your own sex, whether that is because you're male and are afraid to use the toilets with (other) men, or because you are female and have masculinized to the point where you are afraid of scaring (other) women, then the solution is to fight for additional single-user unisex facilities.

You have had a decade or more to get on with fighting for this. Most GC women would have supported you. Instead you and others like you have wasted those years by fighting for access to facilities where you don't belong. My sympathies for you are therefore limited.

I mean, we are all walking phenotypes, even cis people, and to assume that there are no deviations from a hard-line biological distinction set out in genetic code seems un-scientific and unreasonable to expect in an age that has long-since accepted nature V's nature is a false distinction. The idea we are all equipped with skills that makes chromosomes, hormonal profiles and gonads 100% observable with clothes on seems nonsensical in this day and age. But moreover, there is no sense in creating division where statistics do not back up any of the widespread danger claims that are being touted around. I doubt any trans people are here to read this, but if you are, panic not. Trans people are always going to be here so society needs to adapt to you, not the other way around.

Are you seriously suggesting that there is no distinction between men and women? I wish you luck in picking the right kind of partner if you ever want to make a baby.

Most women are very good at distinguishing between men and women out in public. It is an evolutionary advantage.

But moreover, there is no sense in creating division where statistics do not back up any of the widespread danger claims that are being touted around.
Look up the statistics on VAWG. Shame on you for saying this.
Besides which, single sex spaces are also about privacy and dignity, not just safety.

Agreed

so society needs to adapt to you, not the other way around.
Non-sequitur.
Short people will always be around, yet still shops have high shelves. Tall people will always be around, yet still cinema seats have crap leg room and doorways are too low.

I’m not clear on whether the OP is male or female, trans or not, so it’s hard to ‘engage’ with what they have said about ‘marching into’ the ladies toilet.

What I can say is that I fully expect that there will be some entitled men still trying to use the female toilets.

Entitled men don’t like being told ‘no’.

Disrespecting women’s boundaries and responding with intimidating, aggressive behaviour towards women when they can’t just do whatever the hell they want is what entitled men do.

No amount of lipstick or pronouns-changing seems to affect this deeply ingrained behaviour that results from male socialisation.

Totally. It's always the behaviour. Look fellas, stop obsessing about your appearance and whether you "pass" and work on your behaviour. It's not just the physical factors that give you away.

My money is on a teenage boy or young man identifying as an outraged woman with about as much insight as a man who thinks lipstick, a bad wig and a sparkly mini skirt makes him a woman.
🙄

It's so fucking dull and predictable.

So... your point is there should be no such thing as separate male and female facilities because such a distinction is impossible? (I call this one the "colours are a spectrum thetefore traffic lights are impossible and could never work" school of dumbness)

Or is it, as is more likely, you very much want separate facilities but a special group of people get to cross over? (I call this one the "I'm a sexist twunt who just sees female people as stereotypes rather than fully realised human beings" school of dumbness)

Either way, female people matter and exist outside your sexist presumptions.

murasaki · 05/08/2026 15:09

The 'community' has brought this on themselves by their actions. Up until about a decade ago I barely gave anyone a cursory glance. Since then, you bet your sweet bippy I look and judge. And would report now I feel supported to do so, whereas previously I just left and found somewhere else.

Like other species, most humans are able to judge sex with a high degree of accuracy.

But moreover, there is no sense in creating division where statistics do not back up any of the widespread danger claims that are being touted around.

If this is your opinion and you want to campaign for mixed sex toilet provision you are certainly free to do so.

Trans people are always going to be here so society needs to adapt to you, not the other way around.

Barring some kind of evolutionary leap, humans will continue to reproduce sexually and be male or female. Women rely on rights that men don't (and many of these have nothing to do with single sex provision), so the law will always need to recognise sex.

I do understand that many men fail to understand the practical consequences of being born female, and societal conditioning leads them to believe that women should acquiesce to their every desire, but this expectation can only lead to disappointment.

im female, and a survivor of sexual violence so to be ‘at peace’ i absolutely need space to pee where I can guarantee no males at all.
so if you could stand outside and guard the door that would be great.

Thousands of people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, as well other disabilities that severely limit mobility, cannot use standard accessible toilets.

People may be limited in their own mobility so need equipment to help them or may need support from one or two carers to either get on the toilet or to have their continence pad changed.

Standard accessible toilets (or "disabled toilets") do not provide changing benches or hoists and most are too small to accommodate more than one person. Without Changing Places toilets, the person with disabilities is put at risk, and families are forced to risk their own health and safety by changing their loved one on a toilet floor.

This is dangerous, unhygienic and undignified.

It is now accepted and expected that everyone has a right to live in the community, to move around within it and access all its facilities. Government policy promotes the idea of "community participation" and "active citizenship," but for some people with disabilities the lack of a fully accessible toilet is denying them this right.

Although the numbers are increasing, there are still not enough Changing Places toilets across the country.

Providing these toilets in public places would make a dramatic difference to the lives of thousands of people who desperately need these facilities.
