I’m sure there are many qualified women here 🤣

a couple of key parts of the full spec I noticed:

Director of Campaigns and Communications

“…the postholder will report directly to the Chief Executive and will lead a large directorate spanning campaigns, communications, public engagement, media, policy, research and political relations, helping to shape how one of the world's most recognised movements engages the public, mobilises supporters, influences decision makers and drives social change.”

And this:

“Recruitment Timeline
To ensure equitable access to information and uphold Amnesty International UK's commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, the charity will be hosting a Q&A webinar in place of individual informal calls with the CEO and members of the SLT”

According to google AI and LinkedIn, a Felix Jakens is the post holder and one of their named spokespeople with a brief for (amongst other things) “social and cultural rights…human rights laws and human rights defenders”.

Interestingly, he is listed on the spokespeople page just before “Naomi McAuliffe (she/her)” who leads the policy team all all research for AIUK. She is also one of very few who shoved their pronouns in their bio on that page.

I think I can see where the pieces are on this board…

What, the third sector don't half pay themselves well, I wonder how many weeks paid annual leave they give themselves as well.

They think that's what human rights organisations and charities are about do they, sounds more like unelected people trying to impose their political view point on populations.

I work in the charity sector. It’s so the opposite of gender critical. Still very transwomen are women even if that means that actual women can’t access single sex rape crisis spaces. I just keep my trap shut. Need the job.

God she sounds insufferably smug. Putting feedback in quotation marks to imply it isn't feedback and saying 'from those we less than respect'. Well...from everything AIUK has done recently I'd say 'those they less than respect' are most likely women (as in the actual female kind). I really hate the women like her who are happy to chuck all women under the bus to keep the menz happy. Bloody traitors.

I used to know her a little bit, and she was definitely one of those people who just assumed that all gender-critical feminists were stupid. If her post here is a veiled reference to the report that AIUK had to pull (which, given the timing, seems possible to me) then maybe she has, at least, finally had to accept that gender critical feminists tend to read texts quite closely, and won’t be bamboozled if you just ‘change the font 💅’

While I don't know that they've been getting value for money, to be fair, they are a £24 million organization and campaigns and communication is the core of what they do. So for one of the most important roles in a large organization in central London, I don't think that's a particularly high salary. No one's going to be living the high life on it.

I might detest what Amnesty has become, but the charitable sector does not generally pay highly compared to similar roles in the for profit sector, and I hate to see it getting bashed as a sector just because this particular charity is awful.
