'A Sheffield man has been jailed for raping an unconscious woman on a Sheffield city centre street and ignoring pleas by four girls to stop.
Ansar Younis, aged 41, of Hatherley Road, Tinsley, attacked his victim on Sheffield’s High Street.'
'Four girls witnessed the horrific attack and challenged Younis, who ignored their pleas to stop.
They then filmed the attack to help police catch the rapist.
One of the girls was able to identify the sex attacker and he was arrested but provided no comment to all questions.
Younis pleaded not guilty to the offence but was found guilty following a trial at Sheffield Crown Court on March 31, 2026.
He has now been sentenced to nine years behind bars.'
As grim as the story is, I wanted to pay tribute to the girls who managed to do what they could to help the victim.
