Call me jaded but to those of us who have been in this section for several years under various names, this is not new news. It's just that it's hit mainstream media at long last thanks to the SNP.

Edited

I'm about 3 years into this. I started to pay attention just after that bill was passed at the end of 2022 in Scottish parliament, then there was the "Isla Bryson rapist gender" nonsense which made the scales fall from my eyes about Nicola sturgeon, then there was that BBC article about young lesbians being forced to date men and I started to realise that something wasn't right. However this, in particular, this story, 3 years into all this madness, this has shocked me. It's just so many levels of wrong I can't even articulate it properly.

If these men want to start feeding a baby to affirm themselves as the "mother" then just use formula and bottle feed them! There's no need to let babies anywhere near their male nipples. That case study with the "grandpa" had me shuddering. What the fuck was the daughter thinking letting her dad do that? He was clearly sexually aroused by it, if the description of his feelings were accurate. Ugh. These men are beasts. Getting "euphoria" (code for sexual excitement) from a baby suckling and doing what a baby naturally does to live. Suckling on what is essentially pus and chemical waste. Again, wtf is wrong with the people who enable this? I think we can all see what's wrong with the men doing it... In plain bloody sight...

Wtf Scottish government. I feel sick. This is child abuse. State sanctioned child abuse.

To think of all the things I did to make sure my milk was safe, when I had a cold I didn't even take cold/flu pills! This is just...awful. Who can I write to about this? What a thing to read about nearing bedtime. Ugh.

Thanks for the link
"Scottish Trans, another campaign group generously funded by Scottish taxpayers, has also claimed men can breastfeed and said last year’s Supreme Court ruling meant trans women who could breastfeed could lose pregnancy and maternity rights."

WTAF I didn't know they could even get such things, to think of all the decades that women had to fight to get this, every little crumb that took forever to be granted and they're giving to MEN now. 🤯

Good to see GB News covering this safeguarding scandal. Wonder why the BBC / ITV are ignoring another child safeguarding scandal? it? Too many vested interests presumably.

Where are the biologists and midwifery professionals to stand up and put an end to this ridiculous notion? Anyone with an ounce of common sense will know that biological men cannot produce human milk to sustain an infant's requirements. It is complete bullshit and the 'experts' should be speaking up and condemning this practice.

Poor innocent defenceless babies being used and abused.

Most midwifes can't speak up, because ... they're employed by the NHS.

I agree any medical professional pioneering this abuse should be questioned and held to account.

Prison for them all. I wish this was being shown on BBC Scotland news, front and centre. But of course it's not. This is utterly horrifying. It's sexual abuse of babies. Essentially.

She was brilliant. The only point she didn't have time to unpack was that these male secretions are the result of men ingesting a vast amount of chemicals to create them, and no one seems to be at all worried about this passing to the baby while the man has his experience, while women who breast feed are absolutely restricted constantly from taking medications that might pass to the baby. The double standards are vast.

The articles on the thread here also show, the focus of medics involved is always 'the patient' - which is the man they are supporting the gender expression of. The baby is merely a prop, a means to this treatment for the patient, and that should be raising very serious child safeguarding concerns when they are not even figuring as the other human involved and the one taking all the risks, while being used to provide a man with a desired experience for his emotional benefit.

It reminds me of the psychologists who decided to send men to use women's facilities as a means of them demonstrating their sincerity of desire for medical treatment, without once considering the women they were inflicting these men on or what it did to those women's spaces and equalities.

Yes,this is what angers me even more than men LARPing as "breastfeeding women." These babies are human beings, not props. Aside from all the other creepiness and abuse involved (and, yes, I'm calling it creepiness and abuse), these tiny human beings have no agency at all to determine their own minute-by-minute, let alone what this might be doing to their long-term health.

We wouldn't allow this with five-year-olds, or teenagers, or any adult who does not have full capacity. Anybody doing this would be prosecuted. So, why is it perfectly fine to do this to babies?

Is it because they are helpless? What abusing man wouldn't love all his victims to be helpless?

The people enabling this should all be in prison.

Just asking the question, "Do you approve of public funds being given a charity that attempts to assist men who think they are women to feed newborn babies chemically-laden secretions from their fake breasts?" and receiving no answer, and having that on camera would be worth a lot!

Sadly the Scottish Parliament is in recess until August 30th. Gives me time to figure out which of my list MSPs is most likely to ask the question.

Cismyfatarse · 28/07/2026 10:21

I am considering writing to my (Lib Dem) MSP about this. In fact, I might do the whole list. I am utterly incensed. There are a multitude of things this money could be spent on even within the LGB community - education around risky sexual behaviour, for example. Woeful Sex Ed in schools for gay and bi pupils could be improved. Not to mention all the other health areas - MiL is on her 3rd year of waiting for cataract surgery; I am on year 4 of waiting for a bone scan for osteoporosis.

I remember being told very clearly two decades ago that our bodies responded to the age and the stage our babies were. Also the heat. I remember reading even then that our bodies added more water to the milk when it was hot.

There is none of that available for any male person. I genuinely have been at a loss as to why countries health services have allowed male people to do this, let alone providing the services to ‘assist’ them to do it.

Fear of saying no? Creepy joy at saying yes? Laissez-faire attitude towards women, children, experimentation on children, women's right, children's rights? Salivating at the thought of millions in grant funding for research, to be used to prop up and enhance their own careers? Salivating at the thought of other unmentionables to be found only on their hard drives during a police search?

AgnesX · 28/07/2026 09:59

As a Scottish tax payer I'm not remotely happy with this. What a complete waste of money. The government should be focusing on the need for the basics ie housing, education, life defining health which does not include "experiences" for men kidding themselves on that they have real milk producing mammary glands.

If anything, money should be given to studies focusing on how real women can improve their natural milk production.

And no, I don't see any contradiction in that.

Re Katie Hinde's research noted earlier by @Helleofabore, when I BF my DC 25+ years ago, there was already information available on how breastmilk adjusts to the age and condition of the baby. And anyone who has BF will remember the 'feeding frenzy' episodes, when the baby wanted to feed every half a hour for a day or two to increase supply.

Breastfeeding is an incredible physiological mechanism, so obviously men have to be able to do it too...

Much more important to find out how they can rather than using the money to fund research into, oh, dunno, treatments for MND or Alzheimer's, or even just fixing the potholes.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 28/07/2026 09:50

This whole thing is sinister and predatory. Using babies, experimenting on babies to satisfy a male fetish.
I suppose in a world where trading in babies is now acceptable, of course they can be experimented on to aid a sexual fetish

MrsOvertonsWindow · 28/07/2026 09:47

A very revealing recommendation from that report about the secretion expressing grandfather:

"Future research in this field should prioritize cohort studies of transgender patients who desire lactation to further assess patient attitudes, experiences, and outcomes"

Not a word about whether the drug induced secretions are safe or healthy for babies - all about male desires 😡

Telling that we are 3 pages in and silence from the TRAs extolling the benefits of biological male attempts at breastfeeding.

True. Let's hear it, boys! Explain to us why this is fantastic for the babies. With evidence, please, none of this "lived experience" crap.

(You might want to go easy on the "how it was fantastic for you" though, you're likely to get deleted or banned by MN!)

Another male lactation paper
A recent case study.

https://link.springer.com/article/10.1186/s13006-024-00624-1

Case presentation
In this case a 37-year-old transgender woman, who was under the care of the centre of expertise on gender dysphoria in Amsterdam, and in 2020 started lactation induction because she had the wish to breastfeed her future infant. She was in a relationship with a cisgender woman and had been using gender affirming hormone therapy for 13 years.

Prior to initiating gender affirming hormone therapy she had cryopreserved her semen. Her partner conceived through Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection, using our patient’s cryopreserved sperm.

To induce lactation, we implemented a hormone-regimen to mimic pregnancy, using estradiol and progesterone, and a galactogogue; domperidone. Our patient started pumping during treatment. Dosage of progesterone and estradiol were significantly decreased approximately one month before childbirth to mimic delivery and pumping was increased. Our patient started lactating and although the production of milk was low, it was sufficient for supplementary feeding and a positive experience for our patient.

Two weeks after birth, lactation induction was discontinued due to suckling problems of the infant and low milk production.

Conclusions
This case report underlined that lactation induction protocols commonly used for cisgender women are also effective in transgender women.

However, the amount of milk produced may not be sufficient for exclusive nursing.

Nevertheless, success of induced lactation may be attributed to its importance for parent-infant bonding, rather than the possibility of exclusive chestfeeding.

a positive experience for our patient.

Says it all right there. It was "a positive experience" for the deluded, narcissistic man. I bet it was!

When did breastfeeding become an "experience" for a man, rather than food for a baby?
