In case anyone has missed this prize example of a mentally ill adult male exhibiting trans entitlement.

Mate. Come back to me when you have done your homework and can debate the issues properly. I think we are a little past Google level pretend play here.

You can brush up on why it's all JKRowlings fault whilst you are at it. I'm sure all the answers can be well sourced off a reputable website.

We'll just play plopper bingo whilst you think you are being dead clever.

One day someone will come along with an original argument won't they?

Anyway as I say goodnight.

Mate. It's the Equality Act 2010. I didn't pull it out of my arse.. or a work of magical fiction

Do you think there ever will be a decent argument? It’s been such a long time and none of the genderists have yet managed one. We can see the efforts on this thread.

Can you give an example of a “grey area” as it pertains to gender ideology?

It's not difficult. It's just not comfortable for you for some reason. So l, there is female and there is male.. and in the world you wish to habit, females are absolutely female and feel female and males are absolutely male and feel male. Them there are those that absolutely genuinely feel trapped in a body that they in no way identify with. Despite how you object to this, it is the cases. You don't like this concept I realise and I sympathise with you having to imagine this grey area. But there is. A very simplified version, admittedly.

Some people have their heads in the sand. These are real situations. This is real life. There are grey areas. They might not be comfortable for you all, but they are there.

Thank you and amen.

is it possible to get mumsnet to verify this i wonder? Although I absolutely can't believe it matters that much. But they will obviously be able to see that I have been posting for very many years.

I can't believe it's not believable that I'm a 54-year-old menopausal woman just because I don't agree with you. That's a scary concept.. people don't always agree you know that right?

RogueFemale · 23/07/2026 22:39

@nolongersurprised I wouldn't say dangerous. I would say amazing. I peaked here. No going back once that happens. Love all the women here.

I don't need to do much imagining here.

Nor do lots of our regular posters.

Try harder.

Men still can't become women. And the law says this too.

Nul points.

I haven't been deleted this much in ages!

Mumsnet is a dangerous place. I am a middle-class, educated, middle-aged woman. 7-8 years ago I was on here arguing for the other side. I didn’t believe people could change sex, but I was all “be kind”, “most vulnerable”.

Mumsnet radicalised me 😀. Do I get a T-shirt?

I like to think I’d have eventually recognised gender ideology for the regressive, misogynistic tripe it is though.

I see ChatGPT finally came through for you! Congratulations!

Did it tell you that the protected characteristic of "gender reassignment" means that a man who is "gender reassigned" cannot be treated any worse than a man who isn't "gender reassigned?"

The comparator to a trans-identified person is a non-trans-identified person OF THE SAME SEX.

If we can call a man a man, we can also call a "transwoman" a man because THEY ARE BOTH MEN.

And you cannot refuse to give one man a job simply because he is trans-identified, if you would have given it to him if he had not been trans-identified.

There are more examples, but that's all it means.

There is NO LAW that says that we cannot call a "transwoman" a man.

If you have find any more laws, please do let us know.

It was plain old Google actually Bridget. Thanks for the congrats tho.. it means such a lot when people are being such "meanies" 🤣

@DetectiveDouche the protected characteristic, afforded in the GRA, and the EQA puts certain duties (with limitation and exceptions) on public bodies and services.

It does not apply to individuals at all, outside of workplaces or as service providers.

As a matter of law i am perfectly entitled to express offensive opinions about, race, religion, sexuality and political views.

it is called freedom of speech.

And as for mumsnet and this board, you may not know this, but it is the main forum for organising activism, to prevent curtailing freedom of speech and legally challenge the excessive activities of genderism, and silencing women.

Poo poo us all you like, we are not just well informed, we are organised in an ad hoc way and are a force to be reckoned with, seeing to it that women can stand up for our collective rights, in our courts and on our streets.

so you can come on here and snivel to the alter of genderism until the cows come home all you like.

It has no effect no power just a load of boo hoo.

oh and menopausal woman , my arse.

Thank you and amen.

Anyone else having Cloudflare issues? It keeps logging me out.

Might have to try a different device.

Will be a while, no doubt. Good luck with The Law and all!

It hasn’t logged me out but the app was playing up a bit, so I used the mobile site while that was happening.

I suspect you may be being rather near sighted when you consider the concept of your child's mental health and well-being.

Most children will grow out of believing they are trans given time. It’s why watchful waiting is recommended. It’s ok to say you understand they feel this way but it’s important to understand the why through talking therapy.

The idea that a child should be set on a path of lifelong medicalisation, possible sterilisation and mutilation of healthy tissues in affirmation of an idea they may very well grow out of given time and support is abhorrent.

The general consensus that "being trans" isn't even really a thing. That's prejudicial in an of itself and it jumps off the screen constantly on these threads. It's been that way for years. Even as the world moves on and peoples perceptions broaden, Mumsnet posters continue to struggle to accept that some people are trans. They dress it up in well worded arguments about women's rights (and incidentally, I believe absolutely that female spaces should be protected) ,but the message on here strongly suggests that so many believe that it shouldn't be an issue because people should just accept that they were born with a penis or vagina and live with that associated gender, despite how they may feel inside. It's so close minded. The world just isn't that black-and-white..

This is such a ridiculous bad faith take on FWR, not accurate at all in any way.

You may as well just stomp your (possibly man sized foot) and scream into the void "Damn those pesky women with their reality, facts and well worded arguments! Why won't they just nod, smile, and agree to let men do what they want?"😂

It's part of the Equality Act 2010. Being trans became an explicitly protected characteristic on the 1st Oct 2010

But what I'm saying is the law no longer sees it that way. Trans people will be trans people and no amount of saying it's wrong to make people pretend is going to change that.

Where does it say “in the law” that trans people are trans people? Is the blue-wigged stripy socked adult man having a tanty a woman “in the law”? Do you see him as a woman?

Look, people can identify as they like - and they do. If a 35 year old man wears stockings and stripy socks or whatever and says he’s a woman, he might believe he is ( except he doesn’t really, does he)

But - you can’t MAKE other people believe it. You can try to emotionally manipulate them (trauma, distress, most vulnerable) or by philosophical arguments (how many genders fit on a pin head) but you can’t make them believe it.

Yes, there have always been cross-dressing men. It doesn’t mean people can change sex.

Pretending isn't kind. It's a lie.

A lie that harms the very people it claims to help.

It's like upon lie upon lie, until you have told so many lies the lie collapses under its own weight because reality whispers really quietly

"Boo"

And then someone lies again and claims that instead of reality whispering boo, what actually happened was some old crone on MN threatened them with a chainsaw with death and erasure from history by mad raving witches and it was all JKRowlings fault because she wore blue today.

Because this is how divorced they've become with the real world and become immersed in this shit pile of lies that just can't help but self replicate with every single next statement.

Well, quite. But people do like to be picked.
