The odious Robin Ince has resigned from The Infinite Monkey Cage because of his trans views. He says he would have been pushed if he didn’t jump. Neither he nor the show will be much missed, both being self absorbed and pompous. But does this mean the tide is finally turning at the BBC?

Perhaps instead he could pamper us with the luxury of his silence?

"I felt I couldn't pamper myself with the luxury of silence."

Is that one of the most knobbish phrases ever uttered?

To be fair, I do think it is one of the funniest things he has ever said and I would like to congratulate him on reaching his comedy peak.

I'd forgotten about him comparing himself to his heroes!

He's been much funnier since he's pampered us with his silence.

I think life/work has gone a bit quiet for him since he flounced off, and he's trying to make himself seem relevant again in the hope that someone will hire him.

He resigned last Christmas, I suspect it’s just a new series is due out without him

I've just had a google and it seems that Brian Cox is doing a series of shows with a rotating panel of scientists of which most are female including Hannah Fry.

I've never listened to the program and know nothing about Robin Ince, but the line "I felt I couldn't pamper myself with the luxury of silence." is hilarious 😂

😂

Oh Robin, please do pamper yourself. You'll be pampering us too 🙏

Yeah, I saw that.
She’s 81.
She was on their side.
They were so nasty.
What absolute dicks these people are.

"What absolute dicks these people are" - "have", surely? Poor Mia. Surely she's suffered enough in life.

I thought Ince flounced from the BBC a long while ago as well. The only time I've ever really laughed at him is when Ricky Gervais was winding him up in some of his stand-up DVD extras. I saw RI once at the BBC, trying to get his son in with him without a security pass.

Interesting to learn the BBC are meeting with people and telling them the views they express are problematic. I wonder who else has had the chat - David Tennant for example.

Ah David Tennant, the most unpleasant scrotum faced angry old bloke on the planet, how he loved spitting out his virulent misogyny at anyone who would listen. So testerical
