Seems to have completed his lurch to the far-right - in addition to his vocal support of Trump, I suppose his 'defender of women and girls' schtick doesn't really wash any more...

And Yougov’s analysis:

While 18-24 year olds remain the most permissive group when it comes to trans rights, there has likewise been an increase in scepticism.
In 2022, there had only been net negativity among the young on the three questions about providing transgender treatment to under-16s, as well as transgender women being able to participate in women’s sporting events. As of December 2024, this sentiment now extends to transgender men participating in men’s sports, as well as a reluctance to make it easier to change your gender legally, and resistance to the use of gendered changing rooms by transgender people who have not undergone gender reassignment surgery.
When it comes to the key questions of whether people should be able to socially identify as a different gender, the number of 18-24 year olds who say they should – 61% – remains almost exactly the same as in 2022. However, the number who say they should not has risen eight points to 25% over the same time period.
And when it comes to whether you should be allowed to legally change your gender, support among the young has actively diminished: while 50% still say so, this has fallen seven points since the prior study. At the same time, belief that you should not be allowed to change your gender legally has increased by a full 16 points, to 36%.

The train always goes in one direction.

I don't know if TRAs realise this and are just violently immersed in the death throes. Or if they truly believe women and feminist groups can actually be bullied into reversing the trend.

Their 'You Must Condemn Graham Linehan' campaign suggests the latter.

If we’re talking sabotaging one’s own brand, I don’t think it gets any more obvious by the zealots who deviated from the Denton’s recommendation of “shhhh!”

Yes. If used the same conceptualisation of ‘brand’ then those who support the extreme version of transgender rights where male people should have access to any female single sex provision surely needed to work on their ‘brand’ decades ago.

Including activists in the 70s/ 80s who referred to female people as ‘Gennies’. (Of course, never ro be confused with female donkeys by those who only heard the term never saw it written)

The list is very long.

But it always comes down to people thinking tribally about their political view when the reality is that most people will disagree on one aspect of an issue (or completely about an issue) with even people they highly respect.

I kept looking for this year’s update to the tracker as I thought surely the people who first commissioned that poll in 2018 would be interested. … but nothing. Maybe the team at You Gov also believed that the trend was indisputable now and that it wasn’t worth any investment from them and no one has invested in another run.

Well the trend certainly appears indisputable.

Getting all the crap out of schools and FWS's unequivocal clarification have been momentous.

And, of course, we have to thank operation let them speak for the rest.

I think this is what you want. The last data is 28th January 2026 & it's specifically about toilets.

Those in favour of separate toilets for men & women 50%
Those in favour of gender neutral toilets as well as separate toilets for men & women 38%

Do you think public spaces should have separate toilets for men and women, gender neutral toilets, or both?

Here is the link to the data:

A link to the article:

A couple of points to consider with this poll. It didn't separate questions with specific scenarios about male people with transgender identities and female people with transgender identities. Many of the young people answering may have a very different focus depending on the sex of the person.

Many female people at that age for instance will have female friends with transgender identities that they are supporting in what they understand that female friend wants.

However, even though some do (moreso than older generations) believe that people should choose the provision, the majority of this age group do not believe that people of the opposite sex should be using the opposite sex single sex provision.
The majority of this age group also WANT single sex provisions.

Actual female women 51% of the population

Um...

Now a new YouGov study, the fourth in a series reaching back to 2018, shows an increased scepticism towards transgender rights across the board – and particularly in the two and a half years since our previous wave of this study.

Notable in this most recent study – conducted in mid-December – is the growing resistance on transgender rights among those groups that are typically more permissive on the issue, like women and young people.

Hahaha I scrolled past it but gathered from your post what it was about.

I guess if some people actually cannot understand the significant issues in using self reported personality questionnaires in categorising human sex categories, then this attempt and misusing the term ‘brand’ is inevitable.

NotBadConsidering · 19/07/2026 10:12

Helleofabore · 19/07/2026 09:39

Could be.

But it could also be that they realised that they have been discovered to be misusing police forces and that the mounting cases are causing plenty of media. I am sitting on the fence still.

You’ll just get a load of AI pulled nonsense the poster doesn’t fully understand.

Did you read the posts about women’s rights campaigns being a ‘brand’ now. Because apparently marketing managers using specific values that resonate with a particular target segment is both ‘modern’ and the branding can be used in the opposite direction … for a non cohesive group with disparate values that loosely fit under a very broadly described outcome

Where on the internet has that bollocks attempt at labelling come from?

Helleofabore · 19/07/2026 10:04

Whisperingwaters · 19/07/2026 09:38

Thanks for the great belly laugh, by the way.

And for thinking that what this man has written is in anyway different to what I and many other marketing students (even at certificate 1 level) were taught and then practised 35 years ago. It wasn’t modern even then!

Helleofabore · 19/07/2026 09:54

I am really keen to discover how some female single sex provisions can be considered proportionate and others are not.

Considering how all female single sex provisions use a list of the same aspects of female people’s needs to justify them in the first place. Let’s see those arguments in detail and not just vague statements that are supposed to be considered as credible.

TRAs seem to be fuming that Graham got £25 grand. I wonder which stings more, the money or 'A Met spokesperson said on Thursday: “We recognise the considerable distress caused to Mr Linehan, and have offered our sincere apologies.

I reckon it's the money 😁

They mention it all the time, so I agree 😂

I never said it should in all single sex spaces. I disagree where I don't perceive proportionality.

What provisions do you not consider to be covered by sex segregation again?

List them and clearly list the reasons why they are likely to fail a challenge on the basis of proportionality?

Timeless.

Classic Trancel behaviour.

Won't listen to women. Doesn't respect their boundaries. Disregards their consent.

You’ve every right to say trans women. You can’t insist that I do.

I have the freedom to say what I know to be true. A trans person has not changed their biological sex.
Sadly, you’re also mistaken in believing the younger generation think like you.

Men are men. They don't change sex. They need to stay out of women's single sex spaces that don't belong to them.

It's about balancing rights though so the harms cut both ways. And let's not forget the very same females that GC's are attempting to protect are subjected to more scrutiny they may not be comfortable with.

You could argue the potential harms of abuse of male teachers & carers of very young children given their track record outweighing their right to that kind of employment…but we wouldn’t dream of it. Consistentcy?

Howse that work again?

Is this the recycled argument that we should have wax segregated workplaces because the person who suggests it cannot understand consent and safeguarding?

No. It's not.

These are single SEX provisions.

No human can change sex. There should never have been suggestion that a sub group of men should have had any right to access women's provision.

Men are amply provided for via their own sex provision and unisex options.

Everyone's needs are already taken care of without men infiltrating spaces that don't belong to them.
