Amazing.

If this person is defended and wins with the FSU to say the vile things they have said... then we can all say he is perverted man who gets off on invading womens spaces without fear of prosecution.

Makes the world a nastier place in the end but at least we can call a man a man.

AgedPudding · 17/07/2026 09:53

Lmao they want to be ladies but sure go about it the wrong way 😆 🤣 keep it classy

If I had a health condition that required me, every day, to find a clean dry place where I could lie down, take off my knickers and spread my legs I doubt I'd be leaving the house.

At least they're not calling Herbert a woman. Though it would obviously be better to identify him as a man.

I assume the "white British male" terminology was used in order to prevent unfounded rumours spreading online, potentially resulting in violent attacks on certain groups of people.

I sure you're right about the ethnicity and nationality aspect.

But Devon and Cornwall Police and Counter Terrorism Police didn't avoid mentioning the sex of the person arrested in Rotheram.

Police Scotland have very obviously avoided mentioning Herbert's sex, for one reason only.

Usually police statements will say "a 50 year old man" or "a 50 year old woman". Either the police didn't specify or the BBC chose to remove it.

Most likely the police didn't specify, given the particular situation.

Most likely the police didn't specify because most if not all police forces are captured by gender ideology. Previously they would have referred to Herbert as a "woman" and 'she", and defended that action as respecting the person's chosen identity - see for instance Scarlett Blake (murderer) and Naomi O'Brien (child sex offender).

This attracted some criticism, so now the police will often avoid referring to sex or using pronouns altogether in statements about transgender people.

You will have noticed that the police statements about the two men arrested in the investigation into Ann Widdecombe's murder (one later released without charge) referred to the sex, ethnicity and nationality of the arrested persons, "white British man".

Reporters are thorough. Someone’s sex is so obvious they will report he/she. Any good reporter will ask why the police haven’t mentioned someone’s sex.

A decision to not use sexual-based pronouns will be made because the subject of the report identifies as trans.

You are presumably a grown adult who has known this instinctively since childhood.

As a journalist you would ask why are they reluctant to say “she” about someone called Heather. You would not be doing your job properly otherwise.

We can get into the detail if you want but I get bored easily. I’d much prefer to send gifs of kittens.

I disagree. This is not investigative journalism, it is reportage. Note they also did not mention the skin colour or nationality of the offender. Because those weren’t mentioned in the police statement either.

Funny how they are never so vocal towards other men disbelieving men can be women. Does our very presence make them so insecure that they want to bully us into submission.

I think you've hit the nail on the head.

Will female staff feel comfortable working with him? He might have previous given indications about his position on gender critical women, but he's overtly shown who he is.

Got to say I agree with this

AccordingToWhom · 17/07/2026 00:50

MashaPav · 16/07/2026 20:27

Indeed.

What do you mean by this? Because it looks awfully like you think the murder was poetic justice.

IndigoBluey · 17/07/2026 00:49

@WhyamIinahandcartandwherearewegoing what a car crash. Is he a popular figure with other men wanting to be women? How is he prominent in their world when he clearly has no clue and has to deflect to Trumps America. Big Herbert

MashaPav · 16/07/2026 19:59

Freedom of speech for me, but not for thee.
Transphobic individuals can incite violence on innocent people or preach hate and it’s not against the law but when someone else expresses their free speech it’s against the law.

Just out of interest, what did you have to say about Graham Linehan's arrest?

GreenwichPips · 17/07/2026 00:35

Is this the same man who was dilating in a disabled loo at Gatwick?

“'Dilation, day two, let's play. Where in an airport can I locate a clean, dry, private place I can lie down, take my knickers off and spread my legs?“

Bloke clearly has a fetish 🤢🤮

'but other things he's posted publicly almost definitely are.'

Like what? (I'm not on Facebook)

His boyfriend made a video with a picture of guns on a wall behind him. He was talking about feeding people bullets.

This video is so odd in the way he's hiding his face in shadow.

Something of the night about him...

Just saw that on FB. I reckon they're on a hiding to nothing with that one. His Ann Widdecombe tweet might not have been illegal but other things he's posted publicly almost definitely are. And we don't even know what the charges are yet. It may not be a freedom of speech matter at all

As an MP and on the cabinet, she made some awful calls, so I can understand why people might not feel sorry for her death.
What he said is disgusting but I do not think tweets like this are criminal, it's his opinion. Noone needs to read it or respond. The less attention posts like that get, the better. He has now been given a stage and he might not lose...

Whatever anyone thinks of her, she did not deserve to be murdered. It's terrible and I hope the person who did gets the full weight of the law thrown at them.

selffellatingouroborosofhate · 17/07/2026 00:12

MashaPav · 16/07/2026 20:27

Indeed.

And none of that justifies her murder.

Freedom of expression, remember? Democracy? She was voted in by a constituency to represent them. One presumes that they largely agreed with her views, else they would have voted for someone else.

In a democracy, any assault upon a current or former elected representative or candidate that is motivated by how they performed or say they will perform in office is an assault upon that democracy itself.

Thank you for confirming, yet again, that you consider any defence of women's existing, and confirmed by FWS, rights under the law to be "transphobia", "incitement of violence", and "preaching hate". Don't look now but your misogyny is showing.

Your accusation of hypocrisy melts in the face of the many posters, probably double digits by now, who have said that Herbert's tweet about Widdecombe should be treated as non-criminal free speech.

Because it’s the BBC.

agree! This is what frustrates me! It’s male violence against women but it won’t be reported as such :(

That, and they’re scared of other men, and they don’t get any gratification when it’s a man.
