You would be bound by Scottish laws if you did business in Scotland even if you normally reside in Wales.

The BBC article says in the first paragraph:

I’m missing how that’s not unequivocal.

That makes no sense, any site that isn't in the UK can't be bound by the UK laws, that's the very problem Ofcom have got at the moment, it's trying to levy fines on USA company's and they're telling it to get lost.

The same must be said for those inside the UK as well surely, we don't have our own laws in Wales, but I'm not going to be bound by Scottish Law, they've got some stupid ones up there.

Mumsnet is read and used by people in Scotland so needs to stay in line with Scottish contempt law, which I suspect isn’t very different from English contempt law in any case.

Thread titles mean very little. There's a Bristol Council one that's currently all about changing rooms. Even the BBC article isn't unequivocal. I'd be surprised if it isn't something to do with the Ann Widdecombe posts but we can't know for certain until he's charged, assuming he is.

But, just as an injunction raised in an English court to prevent, say, publication of marital infidelities , can be published by Scottish newspapers, presumably the same applies?

Joshua Kerry hasn't been charged, of course. But in neither case should people be speculating.

Just going to post that. He's been arrested not charged, we can only speculate as to why. It might have nothing to do with Ann Widdecombe. We don't know what might have turned up once the Police started looking. It could be his TV licence, his crowdfunder. It could be anything.

This commentary is contrary to Scottish law, specifically the Contempt of Court Act 1981 - you shouldn't be speculating about prosecutions that are active

If it is similar the law in England & Wales you can speculate as much as you like until someone is actually charged. Thus far I don't think either Herbert or Joshua Kerry from Rotherham have been charged with any offence.

Yes, I agree Occam’s razor probably applies. But I am enjoying the schadenfreude of the unpleasant and borderline threatening social media posts of the polycule attracting the attention of the police.
