Whatever happens to Herbert I'm very pleased he's having an unpleasant few days. He's a very unpleasant man. And if Sophie Molloy is reading this. Stay out of women's spaces.

anyolddinosaur · 15/07/2026 12:09

He's probably loving the attention.

EasternStandard · 15/07/2026 12:24

Sadly yes and likely getting online support from equally unpleasant men.

He’s vowing not to.

What a delightful “young woman” comments on Widdecombe death

I have seen some comments from tw saying they won't comply, and if challenged, will claim to be a biological woman. That's not exactly going to work for Sophie Molly, is it? Everyone knows he's a bloke. He never stops going on about being trans.

SabrinaThwaite · 15/07/2026 13:33

The good quines of Aberdeen should point out these loons every time they try to inveigle their way into female spaces.

Its not about left or right wing. It is about maturity. The violence and threats of violence are probably about too much internet and possibly about too much strong cannabis.

Widdicombe had her views, but she was clearly able to enter into a respectful debate with people with different views. People with maturity can do this. disagree with someone and use that debate to test your own beliefs.

The thought police approach where there is only one correct view and anyone who disagrees is phobic is both simplistic and dangerous.

Well said.

I wonder if they’ll have an info box “what is a polycule” 😂

The article goes on to explain:

A polycule is a group of people involved in a series of interconnected relationships. Smith said: “What we have seen most recently is one member of this polycule taking gratification out of the dreadful death of a former MP, an elderly woman. Herbert has glorified in the violence and made no apology.

“The words used chime with the language in the earlier video, which was well noted by us when it was produced. The reference then was to ‘show bullets’ to people who don’t agree with them.
“The big problem here is that these are not just words. They are broadcasting suggestions to people online and we know that these suggestions can be acted on by people who may not be of sound mind.”

I'm shocked, shocked to find that there is gambling going on here!

BridgetYourFortyDaysAreUp · 15/07/2026 19:11

On a more serious note, as I said on another thread, we really must get back to reality, the rule of law, and respect for democratic principles and processes in this country, or more of this kind of violence will happen. What kind of a society are we living in where identifiable people think it's perfectly acceptable to glorify someone's murder?

(What I really mean is that although I am a free speech absolutist, and I think people should say whatever they want, which I know is not entirely allowed in Britain, I am constantly amazed that there are people out there who think that what Herbert has posted is perfectly acceptable in a civilized society. Who are these people and where did we grow them? And how did we get to this point?)

Good.
The police, amongst others, have effectively condoned and encouraged the most revolting rape and death threats against specific women and women in general. The language is absolutely vile and graphic in its hatred and contempt. These men clearly get a sexual thrill from imagining the torture and rape of women. Women have been punished and derided for drawing attention to this. The escalation of the threats and behaviour, together with the confidence of the men in their untouchability, can only lead to worse behaviour in reality.
It is about time the police took it seriously. Personally I have no faith in the police. They are institutionally misogynistic and homophobic. So I don't hold out much hope.
I find it very concerning that HH posted his vile remarks BEFORE it was made public that this was a murder case.

Hear hear.

We even have establishment and government, local and national, wanting to pick and choose which laws they follow with no respect for their own democratic process.

We badly need a government that stops making new legislation, particularly badly thought out vibes based rubbish that will the cause absolute havoc in the courts at huge expense, and just properly enforce and respect the laws already in place.

He can be refused access merely on suspicion, particularly if gender neutral facilities are right there to use as an accessible provision that is not sex based, and he can take the service/place that refused him to court if he wants. Where a judge can order a DNA test if he wants to prove his sex. That isn't going to end how he wants it to. And a judge is likely to go back to the SCJ which pointed out 'individual hard cases' such as a person being upset by being refused access to single sex provision does not outweigh the need for the provision to be protected for the group of biological women.

This isn't about individual people. They don't trump everyone else.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/07/2026 19:37

Yes, none of the ones with a media profile are going to be able to pull off the “but I’m a biological woooman”, are they?

Hoardasurass · 15/07/2026 19:43

Zonder · 14/07/2026 19:10

That's the issue. You're using hyperbole. You know that the vast majority of left leaning people wouldn't dream of celebrating any murder. I am capable of saying the same about most right leaning people. However you're using the label sweepingly. It says a lot.

No she was calling the man who made these comments hard left.
Whilst you are correct that many on the left wouldn't make these sorts of comments or celibate the murder of a political opponent however when it comes to the extreme/hard left they regularly resort to such behaviour, so no not hyperbole

MintBird · 15/07/2026 20:39

So how come people are defending Lucy Connolly and saying what she said was "free speech" but whenever someone who is LGBT or brown says something bad the police and their employer are swamped with reports?

So should or shouldn't people have "free speech"? It should be the same rule for everyone.

lcakethereforeIam · 15/07/2026 21:04

Lucy Connolly rapidly deleted her tweet and expressed remorse. She also pled guilty. If she hadn't, I don't know what might have happened at a trial. She went to jail and lost her job despite not being 'brown' or, as far as I know, LGBT.

I'm not sure what your point is.

anyolddinosaur · 16/07/2026 07:47

Lucy Connolly was inciting violence. There are limits on free speech. Herbert was promoting violence - I'd be happy to see him jailed. Has anyone on this thread defended Lucy Connolly as opposed to saying the same rules should indeed apply to Herbert? edit as one word got repeated.

Excellent use of correct pronouns in that article and it’s FAFO time for the polycule. Why the hell have these men been allowed to get away with this language for so long? (Rhetorical question, as we all know it’s Inclusive Be Kindery)

Ok that's that cleared up.

She had a terrible defence team.
