So many Irish women murdered in 2026

More women murdered in Ireland between January and July 2026 than whole of 2025. Sad day for us and a worrying statistic when I think of DD. Another very violent death this week. Theres no answer but I know you all know how I feel.

Sometimes I wonder have senior EU politicians got something serious to blackmail our politicians with. Its the only vague reason I can come up with to explain how every requirement in relation to immigration is a yes with 50% extra compliance. The €€€ just dont make sense. How can it be possible for any country to provide food and a bed for an unlimited number of migrants.

Have a listen to this podcast to hear more unexplainable logic. The government subsidises builders to build apartments. Then the government subsidises anyone and everyone to buy said apartments by paying up to 50% of the cost. Many buying them could own any number of untraceable properties abroad but are classed as first time buyers here.

Our major politicians are thinking ahead to their retirement from Irish politics. They have nice EU sinecures in mind with big expense accounts and lots of international trips or they're considering the private sector for more of the same.

So, in the meantime, it benefits THEM to help the EU implement laws here enthusiastically and it benefits THEM to stay on the good side of businesses that are making money from migrants.

Where are you seeing commentary online?

Across all socials, including her own Instagram, which is still public. Comments like ‘Darwinism at its finest’, ‘FAFO’ (Fuck around and find out), many, many comments about the fact that she has ‘Free Palestine, Fuck ICE’ in her bio.

I really hope someone can access her account soon and remove these comments before her daughter sees them.

This is exactly what I mean. The immediate answer to all men coming from these countries seeking asylum, or simply migrating for economic or other reasons, should be no.

Unless they can unequivocally prove that they are being persecuted and there is an immediate threat to life. Not just coming here and ‘saying’ they are being persecuted for their religious or political beliefs, their sexual orientation, whatever… show us demonstrable proof.

Or, if they can prove that they have valuable skillsets that the country needs, from a predefined list of skills that we are actively seeking, and they can provide all the vetting we as a country require.

Why was Jozef Puska allowed into this country? To live here for 9 years, never work a day in all that time, procreate 5 times (not to mind his family members and their children), have the tax payer fund all of this shit, to then go and brutally murder a wonderful woman, an epitome of everything wonderful about Ireland and its people. We let that man and his evil family members into the country, and paid for the ‘privilege’ of having him murder one of our own.

The man who allegedly murdered Jamey Carney this week… his Instagram was public for a long time (he has now switched to private). I watched videos of him driving at 200km an hour, holding weapons, showing off huge stacks of cash, laughing with gunfire in the background, images of naked children wearing nothing but ties…. WHY WAS HE ALLOWED TO BE HERE? No vetting of even his public social media before bringing him in? And we’re paying for this?

Edited

Did nobody report his social media content to the police/Gardai?

Did nobody report his social media content to the police/Gardai?

The question should be… why did the Department of Justice not, at the very very least, check his public social media before he was ever allowed into the country? It should not be up to the citizens of this country to be monitoring the social media of asylum seekers coming in here.

Couldn’t agree more, the media should be ashamed of themselves.

An apparent ‘man hunt’ was underway for Jamey Carney’s suspected murderer since Tuesday of this week… no image of this dangerous individual released until Friday. He could have been walking among us (even though it has since become clear he has fled to Turkey and probably onwards).

When Ashling Murphy’s partner, Ryan Casey, queried in his victim impact statement how a person could come and be given social housing, social welfare, not hold down a job of any description or make any contribution, these comments were initially censored by RTE. He also took a defamation case against the BBC, and won, as he was branded a racist, trying to incite hated, or pose as a hero to the far right…. For asking incredibly valid questions that need answering, and that have never been answered by our government.

Gillian Curran, murdered in 2025, has been reported as being murdered by Marcus “O’Neill” from Waterford…. His actual name is Marcus Diablos Nina Ua Niall Messado, he had adopted the ‘O’Neill’ name. You won’t see that reported in the media though.

I could go on, it’s just sickening…

The Jamey Carney story is highly disturbing. He's almost certainly got away with murder now as it's clear he's fled to the Middle East.

Well said. The murder case where accuser has surname O'Neill is the perfect example why expanded data is needed to have proper data to analyse and report on. He renamed himself to be more Irish. What a fucking joke and the usuall government funded media sources trot out the new name but in most cases dont even report.

Have a look at cases Crime World reports. Buses seem particularly risky for us women these days🙀

Jesus Christ, it gets worse.

I’ve actually just learned that asylum applicants in Ireland are required to hand over their passports, and all other travel documents, upon applying for asylum. Passports are kept for the duration of the application process.

Jamey Carney’s alleged murderer should not have even had his passport to enable him to flee the jurisdiction.

The utter incompetence of our government is disgusting.

Agree, every day there seems to be another violent death. What isn't being accurately reported or commented upon by the media, as far as I can see anyway, is that the vast majority of these crimes are being committed by foreign nationals/asylum seekers. It's taboo to even mention it even though it is in fact the truth of what's happening. This type of liberal reluctance to face facts is what lead to Trump in the US, Farage in the UK, Le Pen in France etc. I don't want to go down that road in Ireland but we will if this continues. Our politicians are a disgrace

See, I just can’t buy into these types of conspiracies.

Can you expand on this theory? Who is ‘they’? And to what end do they want to replace white people? Who benefits from this?

Im genuinely not goading, I just hear this all the time and can’t understand how people believe this actually happening.

And how is it a conspiracy when it's a stastical fact.

There’s honestly no need to be so defensive. You obviously feel there is a problem with the immigration system in this country, as do I.

If you have a link to the DCU statement/research or whatever it is you are referring to, please link it.

And your previous response to the ‘they’ question, doesn’t clear things up. Who is ‘they’?

And if there are statistical facts, as you say, to support this theory, please share them. I love statistics and data, as I’m sure you’ll see from my previous posts on this thread.

The process is actually even worse than you think. The suspect fled from where hes returned to as he wasn't safe. Applied for asylum in Ireland and had to give his passport while application was processed. Asylum application was rejected. Suspect lodged an appeal. Government handed back his passport while appeal was pending so he was able to leave the country so easily.

This case has shown anyone willing to listen how much is wrong with the system and how much risk it puts women and children and we had plenty home grown already.

The Jamey Carney case is horrific. And it’s now come to light an even more grotesque murder of an American woman.

https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/crime/revealed-the-dublin-man-who-murdered-an-american-nurse-in-budapest/a/158378228.html

There was barely a whisper of this in any Irish media. The details are gruesome. Truly depraved. Him, white Irish, educated, well to do, wealthy parents from an upmarket suburb of Dublin. They did not show up on court. They paid for his top lawyers and for an apartment for him in an effort to secure bail for him.

His name Lorcan Tadgh Murphy.

There was zero reason for the Irish media not to name him. Evil evil man. From the details, I’d doubt this is his first murder.

Waitingtoolong · 12/07/2026 15:09

The New York Post says this today:
“Hungarian law protected Murphy’s identity, only identifying him by the initials LTM, but the Irish Independent identified him on Sunday [yesterday] as a matter of public interest,”

So perhaps the non-reporting until now was not the media’s fault? He was sentenced on Thursday.

It does appear that us that is happening but the missing part of the jigsaw is the ‘why’.

Why would national leaders want to take peaceful countries with a generally cohesive and pleasant society and make them into violent, unproductive, unhappy societies by bringing in large numbers of people from unhappy violent countries with no attempt to integrate them into the peaceful societies? How does this benefit them?

The lack of a convincing answer (from anyone) on this is what makes me think that this is just horrendous stupidity and incompetence.

I'd like the answer to why also but cannot find it. Before all this began individual European countries had national identities and traits and Christian leaning values. Now all of that is reduced to sub culture within each country. Perhaps thats the why. Unfortunately we haven't been enriched we have been diluted.

Our politicians are full square behind it and it wont change. They have either been bought or are on a promise or are deluded. But current statistics would suggest women are the collateral damage.

Was here here as an asylum seeker or under international protection? Do we know what country passport he had? I only ask because I know Ukrainians have come here under international protection and have full custody as it were of their own passports. He was in an Ipass centre so surely that meant he had the same rights as Ukrainian 'refugees'.

To the poster who asked where I have seen commentary well it is everywhere. On all social media platforms absolutely vile things being said like basically she asked for it as she was a palestine supporter and a leftie etc. Absolutely horrific things to say about anyone but the woman has been murdered and her family are coming to terms with that they dont need to see or hear of that stuff being said.

Also in relation to a PP on HIS social media maybe he deactivated it while he was being processed and reactivated again once he was 'safe'?

You are incorrect about the media.

This is my understanding

  • under Hungarian law the murderer can not be named, not before conviction nor afterwards
  • Hungarian law does not apply in Ireland
  • Irish media knew about the case
  • irish media chose not to report daily on the court proceedings, they did not need to name him, Irish national would have sufficed
  • if the victim had been Irish, and not American, one wonders if Irish media would have been so reticent
  • that’s treating victims differently, no matter how you slice it
  • the victim’s parents are disgusted with Hungarian law which protects criminals being named
  • nothing prevented Irish media from reporting
  • the American parents can be interviewed by Irish media
  • I do not believe grieving outraged Irish parents of an Irish murdered woman would be ignored by Irish media

I’ve zero interest in left right stuff. Some men are dangerous.

In case Mackenzie’s loving parents/ brother or family ever find this website, and/or my post, there is no disrespect here, I’ve read your grief, shock, and acknowledge your disgust that a vile Irish man besmirched your daughters name, that the law/justice saw fit to allow that, that you had no recourse. Have faith, he’s been convicted. You’ve beaten the odds and actually achieved justice for Mackenzie. I salute your bravery in coming to court every day to honour her innocent short time on this planet.

SmallorBigorBigorSmall · 13/07/2026 08:30

@Cailin66 horrendous case, truly barbaric and inhumane what was done. What some men are capable of doing to women and then try to protect themselves is frightening. Karen Buckley murdered in Glasgow was similar. An ordinary night out turned to a nightmare.

What is disappointing is how each side uses these awful cases to score points. Ruth Coppinger was out again yesterday highlighting the naming in the independent and using it to score points by bringing the killarney case into it. Strengthening our Irish laws and expanded crime data to protect women should be the priority. Its not all men but there should be no where to hide when it is no matter what race, creed or colour is involved.

Coppinger is a windbag and will point score at every juncture. Vile woman. Thankfully the Irish media are now giving full details on the 'fugitive; who may have murdered Jamey Carney. He's apparently now in the tribal area of Jordan. He made a big mistake, Jamey is an American citizen. And the American's have way more clout with the Jordanians than Ireland.

Both Coppinger and the odious Paul Murphy were rightly called on on their refusal to answer questions from Gript media. Now I'm not a fan of Gript but they have on many occasions done a great service to women in highlighting stuff the mainstream newspapers are afraid off. At least the other journalists of those main steam ones stood up for Gript's right to ask questions

Unfortunately while celebrating the publication of the Hungarian criminal details Coppinger neglected to highlight the law that prevents publication by Gardai of any details related to killarney suspect. This is all they can provide. That needs urgent review given freedom of movement that the killarney case has shown is possible
