6/3 exactly along the political lines. How did the left leave peoples rights behind like this?

The first opinions are in the transgender athlete cases. In B.P.J., the court holds Title IX allows schools to provide separate women’s and men’s teams defined by biological sex, and WV has permissibly maintained female sports for biological females....

Isn't it strange that is now cominfg out that this poor little trans girl that just wanted to play with "her" friend was really verbally abusive to the girls in the locker room/team mates/friends.

Chickadeeinme · 03/07/2026 23:20

I’m pasting a post by HeCheated.org from X, because I think it shows how bad this is right now in some places:

I don't think people realize how bad the rules have been for girls in California, even if you know about how much boys have been stealing from girls there.

California bases participation on "gender identity" which is declared through self-ID.

This means that if John wants to join the girls' team, he doesn't have to do anything other than say that he wants to. No change of ID required, no hormone use, no psychologists' note. Nothing.

But it's even worse, because boys have also been allowed to do this at ANY time.

For example, several years ago, a boy on the boys' badminton team at Palo Alto decided he wanted to switch to the girls' mid season, right before sectionals, and HE WAS ALLOWED TO, taking the place of a girl who had already been playing on the varsity team all year. She was suddenly booted out. He was in.

This means if a boy knows he isn't going to qualify in track and field, he could run with the boys all season but switch to the girls' team right before the conference meet.

But of course, California respects all athletes, right?

SternJoyousBeev2 · 03/07/2026 18:59

Even if it were true that no girl has been displaced by a TiM, it would only a matter of time until it becomes commonplace, based on the sheer numbers of young people who are no trans identifying.

I am glad that some sporting bodies having rules to ensure female sport is for females only. I’ve not followed this enough with regards to US sport so I don’t know how many still need to get a grip. But the ridiculous situation in California that allows boys to take part in girls athletics and stand on the podium as some some of participation consolation prize is pathetic. I know that they can no longer officially displace a girl but that isn’t true in reality as running tracks have a finite number of lanes and a girl will always lose out.

MissConductUS · 02/07/2026 11:02

If you buy into the notion that young George has transitioned to female and is now truly Jane, and that Jane wants to compete on the track team, or crew, or whatever, it's not a big leap that "Jane" would have to do so on the women's team. If "she" becomes a star, thanks to "her" athletic gifts, and gets a prime scholarship at uni as a result, they don't see anything wrong with that.

My daughter was the captain of her crew team in high school and was recruited to row at an elite women's university in the US (one of the seven sisters). She's just a little slip of a thing. If a MTF trans student had displaced her, it would have been devastating for her and deeply unfair.

Well done to her, and yes it would be ridiculously unfair, and an outrage.

Cailleach1 · 02/07/2026 11:54

In truth, he was never competing ‘as a girl’. He was always a boy who was allowed to compete against girls, in the girls category. It is immaterial how he ‘identifies’; he is a biological male.

Whether the problem here is that these people have no moral compass OR no grasp on reality, the conclusion is the same.

With such limitations, they cannot be dictating how society functions for the rest of us.

Cailleach1 · 02/07/2026 10:02

@GenderlessVoid ’when they found out he was trans.’

Was it more the fact he was a boy/man and thus ineligible for a girls/women’s scholarship, and not because he was simply ‘trans’ identified? If it was a girl/woman who said they adhered to this ideology and identified as ‘trans’, that would not have made them ineligible. As long as they aren’t taking performance enhancing drugs.

So, it seems the university found out his sex was male, and he was trying to take a woman’s scholarship. Maybe the university did know and were shamed into rescinding the few opportunities afforded to women being given to a boy/man because it was made public. Maybe the boy/man was deceptive, and never revealed he was male. Thankfully some groups advocating against this onslaught against women and girls were reporting on it.

I see he came from California, and was being allowed to take girls’ sports accolades. What a boy? (Or what a cheat). Also University of Washington only give two or three of these scholarships per year, and they extend over four years. Good that it didn’t go to a male who is cheating by competing in a sex category in which he doesn’t belong. And shame on everyone who is enforcing/enabling the trampling all over these young girls.

I’m not having a go at you @GenderlessVoid . I’m just trying to peel away the language used so that it is not obfuscating the situation.

At the time, he was eligible for a scholarship if the University of Washington had chosen to honour their offer but it would have been very controversial bc he was a boy who had identified as a girl since he was 12. Many people were angry that he would have taken a women's D1 scholarship. Even in California and Washinton, which are very blue and also tolerant of gender identity, many people were unhappy that he was competing as a girl. But the NCAA didn't change its rules to prohibit transwomen from competing on women's teams until 2025. That's how Blaire Fleming got his scholarship on the women's volleyball team at SJSU.

Who are these boys (and their parents) blythly taking scholarships/honours from girls?

Have they no morals or sense of what is right? No shame?

Who would do such a thing?

In the US or Canada, has there ever been a case where a male who identifies as trans gained a scholarship for university/college by being successful in the female sporting category?

It was reported that Blaire Fleming, the SJSU volleyball player, had a scholarship.

In 2023, the University of Washington withdrew their offer, which I think included a scholarship, from another transwoman whom they'd recruited when they found out he was trans.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/07/2026 08:24

And if you stop calling boys “trans girls”, the problem goes away.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/07/2026 08:23

”Cis” is not a neutral term. It has a lot of baggage. Some women feel that the way it’s used by genderists implies that they are actively participating in their own oppression.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/07/2026 08:20

GenderlessVoid · 02/07/2026 07:58

If you mean me by "your own ideological terms", I'm gender critical so it's not my term. I use it when I think it adds clarity. [ETA I think that clarity is only needed bc TWAW has muddied the waters.] You're free to disagree. I know many on FWR don't like it.

Edited

I was speaking in general when I said “you”. I don’t think the adoption of the term is helpful and I’ll continue to challenge it being normalised whether by genderists or not.

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 02/07/2026 08:13

'Cis' is a 'trans' status, by using it you are accepting that females are just a subset of their own sex/gender.
Using any terminology that reduces or erases female's is not acceptable to a lot of women. We did not agree to being reduced to a 'trans' status, if you want to make yourself clear, then put some more effort into it.
Words count, I think you'll find the whole reason why the Alphabetties have invented a whole new lexicon is so they can control the narrative to normalise the abnormal. Every time you use their terminology you further their cause.

There is no such thing as Gender Identity, it's made up bollocks, there no such thing as a 'trans' child, they are victims of a cult that has been given state sanction access to them.

GenderlessVoid · 02/07/2026 07:58

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/07/2026 07:47

The thing is, “cis” is meaningless ideological jargon used by genderists. So called “trans girls” are boys. People will object to the use of “cis” because it implies girls come in two sexes and moreover using your own ideological terms for disbelievers in your ideology is a bit presumptuous. There’s no such thing as a “trans girl”. They’re boys who claim to be girls.

I've already said that I agree that transgirls shouldn't be in girls loos or changing rooms. I completely agree with that. I also said more than once that I am not addressing the fairness aspect, only whether transgirls take uni spots from girls. (I used cis girls bc I thought that if I used girls in that case, it would be unclear if I was including transgirls in the category of girls. Unlike many here, cis doesn't bother me, but I try not to use it unless I need to make it clear that transgirls are excluded from the group I'm referring to.)

Where do you think I said any of what you said above? I think it's unfair for transgirls to compete in girls sports but I don't think they take girls spots at unis.

E.g., a friend's daughter was cut from a high school team, not bc of a transgirl but bc she lost to other girls. She then started volunteering more at a local shelter. She got more responsibilities, organised new adoption days, and made a website to help identify potential adopters for animals in all the county's shelters. She got a strong letter of recommendation from the head of the shelter. That made her application stand out much more than a similar number of hours playing sports would have and she loved doing it.

If she'd lost to a transgirl, I agree it wouldn't have been fair but I still think that her uni applications would have been stronger if she'd volunteered (as she did) than if she'd played the sport all four years.

Again, I'm not arguing that transgirls playing in girls sports is fair, only that they don't take girls places at uni. That is based on my friends' experiences, including the one that worked in admissions.

I used cis girls bc I thought that if I used girls in that case, it would be unclear if I was including transgirls in the category of girls.

This is where simply girls vs transgirls or females vs transgirls comes into play. Or even girls vs trans identified boys. There is 3 choices right there, just off the top off my head in 30 seconds. There really is no need to use 'cis' if you put even a slight amount of thought into it.

GenderlessVoid · 02/07/2026 07:23

Cailleach1 · 01/07/2026 21:53

Hmm. That is only if it is a choice by the girls, and not because their fair sports and opportunities have been lost to the because they have now been appropriated for the service of boys. Not to mention the flashing and peeping element of changing rooms. People (legislators, and sports trainers) are enabling sexual offending against girls.

It is certainly a ridiculous situation if boys get to compete against other boys, or if they don’t want that, plonk themselves like cuckoos into girls sports. However, girls who are deprived of any fair sports (unlike boys who can insert themselves into everything) have to just accept this and do something else.

It is the boys who don’t want to compete against other boys who could find something else to do rather than colonising girls sports. Cheating boys, and their enablers/accomplices, should just leave girls and their sports alone.

GenderlessVoid · 01/07/2026 22:16

I haven't helped anyone apply to college in years but I knew someone who recently worked in admissions in a selective uni in the US and several people whose children are now in uni in the US so what I say is based on that.

I know that many US high schools require charity work but it is usually fairly minimal. You need to do much more to show dedication. If that's not an interest, do research or something else you're passionate about.

Again, I'm not addressing whether transgirls should be able to participate in high school sports, only that I don't think that transgirls are stealing college spaces from cis girls.

So they might not be stealing places from “cis” girls, whoever they are, but they are stealing places from girls.

Have you read the justices’ reasoning? Are you aware of Thomas’ judicial reputation?
What a patronising, ill informed comment.

People like you, who can apparently see the truth regarding the trans issue, but in an apparent demonstration of the Gell-Mann Amnesia Effect, dutifully fall into line on all other liberal issues are partly why we find ourselves in this situation.

I agree, the left world view is unpinned entirely by postmodern philosophy, some people have spotted the one head of the hydra but are blind to all the other ones.
If you recognise how wrong GI is and you want to fight it you have to give the party that is doing the fighting back your support. If you continue to support the party that is committed to doing the wrong thing, then you might as well give up and go home because you're not fighting back your an enabler and part of the problem.
