David Tennant seemingly hates women

Just seen David Tennant on The Assembly. Might be a repeat not sure. Flabbergasted that in response to a question about supporting transwomen in women’s spaces he said people need to ‘stop the hatred’, step aside and ‘let people just be.’ (Imagine that being said in his over the top faux ‘man of the people’ manner.)

He was then asked a question about making Good Omen’s 3 when Neil Gaiman has been ‘cancelled’ due to the light issues of being accused of Sex trafficking and rape of women. Here, he simply said he couldn’t ’leave people on a cliffhanger’ and moved on.

So, he’s happy to literally line the pockets of (very alleged) male rapists whilst at the same time arguing women not letting men in their spaces is hatred.

Fuck David Tennant.

Whatever money NG got for that final installment won't be that significant compared to the wages of all the production staff and extras who were expecting months of work. I'd say refusing to be in the final episode would just be virtue signalling, presumably you also think Michael Sheen, Derek Jocobi, Gloria Obianyo, Liz Carr etc also hate women for being in the show?

Are you suggesting 'feelz' is satisfactory evidence? Or only when trans people aren't involved?

Can't have it both ways.

Edited

What an absolutely revolting thing to say about multiple rape accusations.

Princejoffyjaffur · 25/06/2026 08:58

It's a it of leap to say he hates women based on that. Also, charges against Gaiman were dismissed.

heathspeedwell · 25/06/2026 08:58

@Limoncellospritzz we know from the Ministry of Justice data that (as of December 24) there are 151 transwomen in prison in England and Wales with convictions for sex crimes. This is hardly an insignificant number.

We have decades of evidence to prove that men are at least five times more likely to be violent than women. This is why women created our own single sex spaces.

If transmen really are men, then we'd expect to see around 800 to 1000 transmen in prison with convictions for sex crimes.

How many are there?

I completely respect him for supporting his child.

I feel sad for his child, who seems to be used as an accessory to promote DT.
DT is very self absorbed.

All males are potential predators and sexual deviants. 99% of sexual assaults and more than 80% of violent offences are carried out by males. That risk does not change if somebody has an internal sense they are not the sex they actually are.

By this logic all lesbians are potential domestic violence abusers given their propensity for DV abuse as are all muslims potential terrorists, mothers potential child abusers, male teachers, male bosses, priests etc etc.

Are you suggesting all members of potential risk groups be restricted of access or just the ones you don't like?

Again, this is not about lesbians vs straight women.

This is about MALE vs FEMALE. DV and RAPE proves that MALES are a big risk in a way that female vs female is not. Stop playing linguistic games and desperately separating the sexes into tinier and tinier and tinier subgroups in a desperate effort to show that males are not a risk factor to females. You must know that it won't work.

Restricting access to female only safe intimate single sex change rooms and toileting facilities for safety as well as privacy and dignity is what is suggested because there is a reason our fore feminists fought for it a century ago, in the first place! Those reasons have not changed since a century ago. If anything, with the rise of violence against women and the rise of dangerous and hardcore porn in the public realm, the reasons for for restricting male access to vulnerable females exist now more than they ever did!

Oh feck , Gaiman as well. That series was shite as well and ruined the book.

I couldn't even read the book. Only got to 50 pages and gave up. Turned me into a zombie every time I tried to read it.
Can't stand David Tennant.

The journalists were present were they?

If he said she said isn't good enough for trans people then it isn't good enough for any one else.

It's about MALE vs female.

Nothing to do with 'trans' people.

There are two sexes, not three.

RunsABit · 25/06/2026 08:47

A massively over-rated luvvie publicly defending men who want access to women's spaces and supporting the chemical castration of gay children.
Contemptible knob.

You don't get it. It's about MALES being possible deluded and dangerous predators and sexual deviants (and we have millennia of examples this being true). You seem to think 'trans' is a third sex or something. An infallible third sex. We make no distinction between transwomen and males, because there is zero distinction.

You seem to think they're entirely different groups altogether. That's why we're arguing at cross points. To us, all males are males. To you, you think taking 1% of males away from the other 99% percent, relabelling them as 'transwomen' makes them safe. That is truly delusional, and as we know we more than enough evidence, untrue.

You think there is an infallible subset of males. We, know better.

PS you lot always, always, always forget that it's also about privacy and dignity away from the male gaze. Not just 'safety'. Women flee to the ladies to escape a man. We cry. Seek help. We miscarry there. We change out at the sinks to go clubbing. We wash blood-stained underwear at the sink, and baby sick off our blouses. We are in a semi state of dress. We don't want MALES there, understand??

Edited

Oh they get it alright. But promoting the erosion of women’s rights and putting men’s wants before women’s safety and dignity is not a good look so they have to pretend the issue is all about being trans rather than the real issue of it being all about being men.

I completely respect him for supporting his child.

But to what extent? If he supports his son to enter single sex spaces reserved for women and girls that is at the expense of my daughter’s dignity and consent. Which is why I would like David T and others to explicitly state what they mean by ‘let them just be’.

Wishesandhorses · 25/06/2026 08:41

One man in a women's space can cause major problems for every single woman there.

And have you noticed how hard it is to get convictions on men for sexual violence against women, never mind a prison sentence? You're not talking about mild, one off crimes here.

What an actor thinks is irrelevant anyway, this was thoroughly tested in law and the law is clear. Women are entitled to protection from men who believe in their right to use those women as personal resources.

i dont like the rush to cancel people based on a few words in an interview

you will hate everyone if you apply such ridiculous high criteria for acceptance

An appeal to 'basic human kindness' - oh come on.

Limoncellospritzz · 25/06/2026 08:38

heathspeedwell · 25/06/2026 08:06

The sad fact is that 62% of transwomen in prison in England and Wales have convictions for sex offences. Transwomen are at least as likely to be violent as other men, and it's transwomen who, in many cases, are ignoring the law and still invading women's spaces.

@Limoncellospritzz care to guess what percentage of transmen in prison have convictions for sex crimes?

To be clear, I already know the answer.

It's not anti-trans to highlight that transwomen demonstrate male pattern violence as a class, while transmen have a similar criminal profile to other women.

Incarceration is not the same as offending & the trans population is too small to make any meaningful statistical conclusions about.

Tonissister · 25/06/2026 08:38

@FlirtsWithRhinos Brilliant post.

Wishesandhorses · 25/06/2026 08:36

How is a woman expected to get her clothes off without protest for one man who says he has a gender identity, while saying no to another man who says he has a gender identity?

I mean putting aside for a moment this whole lunacy of expecting a woman to undress and validate any man with her body, which is heading fast out of the deep end of misogyny into something one hell of a lot darker and more pathological

what are women (the ones who CAN used mixed sex spaces) supposed to do? Strip off and hope that this man with a gender identity doesn't happen to assault them today? While the ones who can't just end up entirely excluded from public spaces and services?

Ffs. Have a mixed sex space. Women who want to can undress all day in there to emotionally support men with gender identities, I wish them nothing but the best. What is this obsession with forcing non consenting and distressed women to submit? It's the kind of territory to unpack with a therapist.

Hilarious that you think this is some sort of gotcha! Or that with it you’ll manage to deflect attention from your failure to provide any evidence to back up your homophobic, racist slurs.

Keep digging.

I can't stand him. The man is an smug, sanctimonious, hypocritical arsehole.

Although I must say, his portrayal of arch villain Tony Baddingham in Rivals really is top notch stuff. I've just realised it's possibly because he's playing a nasty, manipulative, misogynistic man. It must just come so naturally to him.

pimplebum · 25/06/2026 08:34

Redcliffe1 · 25/06/2026 00:57

I think it’s unfair to twist his words like this. Saying 'let people just be' is an appeal for basic human kindness and reducing hostility, not an attack on women. As for Good Omens, he's an actor under contract finishing a massive project that an entire cast and crew depend on for work—not to mention the millions of fans waiting for a resolution to the story. Equating contractual obligation to actively supporting alleged behavior is a massive, unfair leap

His child, isn't likely to be rendered infertile because there is no way Tennant is going to allow that. He is seeing a fad and instead of saying 'don't be stupid' puts not only other children at risk by celebrating this fad, but women and children at risk by calling them 'whingeing little fuckers' if they want their legal rights to single sex spaces.

Tennant can fuck right off.

No, she was mocking the hypocrisy of the supposedly progressive left.

FlirtsWithRhinos · 25/06/2026 08:28

Limoncellospritzz · 25/06/2026 07:28

It is when they are justified routinely on the basis of trans women being deluded dangerous predators & sexual deviants.

Are all trans women dangerous predators? Of course not.

Only some trans women are dangerous predators.

Just like only some men are dangerous predators.

But nevertheless we exclude all men from women's spaces.

So by the same logic we also exclude those men who are trans women. This is not dehumanising the men who are trans women any more than it dehumanised the men who are not.

What you are asking for is that we give the men who are trans women special access that the men who are not trans women don't get.

But if you accept the legitimacy that women's spaces exclude all men because so e are problematic, you cannot then use the argument it is demonising to exclude all trans women because some are problematic, because by accepting wonen-only spaces in the first place you already accept the general concept.

So uf you want to argue for the men who are trans women to have access to women only spaces you can only base your argument on their being actually women rather than men, and no one has yet been able to make that argument from first principles, only from some form of "well they say they are women, and as long as the word women doesn't actually mean anything that works", which is obviously no argument at all.

Are all trans women deluded? I don't know. But 100% certainly all trans women are sexist, because the belief that the fundamental and defining difference between men and women is that our minds are different, and all the shit that happened and happens to female people because of our physical sex isn't relevant to being a women or to the existence of women's spaces and women's rights is sexist as fuck.

Which is what David Tennant also is for nodding along to it and attacking women for calling it out.

You stopped paying your licence fee because David Tennant? The man who has appeared in rather a lot of major dramas on ITV, Channel 4, Disney, Netflix, Sky etc? Can we take it you have also given up paying for streaming channels and anything advertised on ITV and C4?

He's always on BBC. He has a BBC podcast, regularly hosts Have I Got News For You, narrated on Twenty Twenty Six, starred in a new BBC drama this year, hosts shows on Radio 2 etc.

The BBC despises women who know that men can't change sex!

And yes, I gave up on channel 4 and itv for similar reasons.

I'm hardly alone - viewing figures for those channels are tiny these days.
