He's such an odious man with a very nasty misogynistic streak. His comments towards women over the years has made me now dislike any characters he plays to the point I cannot watch.

This was my interpretation of his words as well. Also, when he saying he wished to be in a world where Kemi Badenoch didn’t exist, there was a very long pause filled with cheers before he said, ‘I don’t wish ill of her I just wish she would shut up. I think it is clear what his intent is, especially coupled with the ‘whinging little fuckers comment.

I look at it like this.

Transwomen and gay men have the similar threat profiles when using the male facilities i.e. the men that target transwomen are the men that target gay men. Transwomen might be slightly more at risk because of their possible loss of strength - but the reasearch regarding that is such poor quality that it could range from 10-30% loss which still makes them significantly stronger than women.

Gay men are very unlikely to be a risk to women. In fact I would argue that gay men pose less of a risk to women in single sex spaces than a lot of transvestite-cross dressing type of transwomen.

I would still feel unsafe if a man that I knew was gay came into the female single sex space. I would still consider it harassment even if it was for a valid purpose. I am sure that gay men would feel uncomfortable going into the female single sex space as well.

David Tenant is an excellent actor- its just such a shame that he can't see that it doesn't make him any type of political guru.

Yes, if he (and his wife) understood the difference between sex & gender, and why this is an issue they wouldn’t have a ‘they/them’ because they would’ve told their son that he’s a boy and growing his hair and changing his pronouns don’t alter the fact that he’s male.

He wasn’t telling them to go, he was saying they would, right? Where do you think he thought they would go? If Tennant told me to go anywhere I’d tell him to fuck off. But you know and I know that “they’ll be gone soon” is referring to his idea that anyone objecting is old and will die soon. Which is false, but he’s a misogynistic dick. With regard to the OP and Tennant, if those comments were all he’d ever said, he might deserve the benefit of doubt. As it is, the “Whinging little fuckers,” statement leaves no room for doubt at all. That is a comment from someone who despises women like those here. It would be hard to come up with a more disdainful form of name calling, in a world where name calling is, in itself, an offensive and weak action for anyone.

If you e.g. tell someone who’s bothering you, or a cat or similar to go away, shove off or get knotted, you’re not telling them to die, nor do you care where they go, so long as it’s a long way off.

Keeping males out of women’s spaces is an entirely consistent stance.

We have sex segregated spaces, which is based on a long-held societal understanding of the risk between two groups of humans.

You are the one who wants to justify changing the groups, therefore it’s up to you to justify why the group of men you are championing should gain the privilege of moving spaces.

No other risk groupings have been taken into consideration, so throwing them randomly into the debate, as you are attempting to do, is irrelevant.

And if you think you can compare this to racial segregation, think again. The campaign to remove racial segregation was a campaign to remove that segregation. The current campaign is not to remove segregation, rather it’s an attempt to change the terms of that segregation, giving some people the special privilege of using opposite sex spaces, regardless of the negative effects on those who need them most, in this case, women.

The equivalent would have been white people claiming they were black and insisting that they must be given access to black peoples spaces, even though black people objected that this would make them feel unsafe.

Any biological males, no matter whether they identify as 'women', or anything else, should NEVER be in women's spaces.

He did not say they will all be dead soon, he said they’ll all go away soon. And in respect of Kemi Badenoch, he said “However until we wake up and Kemi Badenoch doesn’t exist anymore — I don’t wish ill of her, I just wish her to shut up — whilst we do live in this world I am honored to receive this.”
