Yep, that reason being pure misogyny and hatred of women. Ironic really, when you unpack it.

It’s important that compensation was awarded.

Well done and thank you to the nurses. As others have said, the cost of standing up for women’s rights isn’t just a material cost and they certainly didn’t do it for monetary gain.

Im pleased we have threads like this to celebrate the achievements of women. Many men cannot bear such a thing and come along to try and centre males with trans identities. Their posts are evidence of this.

Good -to ensure it changes you have to get it on the ledger.

All they had to do was a consultation. I hope the NHS trust sues the organisation that no doubt gave them false legal advice about discrimination on the basis of gender reassignement.

I wonder whether they should be obliged to - to prevent the misuse of taxpayer money…..

Not directly to do with this case, but I think it's the same trust that is being investigated by the National Crime Agency for harming hundreds of women at its breast unit, with several women having breasts removed unnecessarily. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c9qrn3y72dxo Their track record on how they treat their female staff and patients really is appalling, isn't it?

And the Trust's maternity care is rated Requires Improvement.
Is anyone surprised?

Why does it always seem to be women's healthcare where these scandals emerge? Aside from maternity, which despite the best efforts of tras will only effect women and their children, it should be fairly even. Is it cognitive bias? I'm not as interested in fuck ups that only affect men?

The tainted blood scandal, one of the very worst, destroyed the lives of mainly male people.

I think it's because there's "healthcare", and "women's healthcare".

The default human is a man, while women require add-on services.

That's true. Haemophilia is a genetic disease, on the X chromosome, so men are more vulnerable to it. Lots of haemophiliacs (and others) were infected with HIV and/or hepatitis. It was shameful, made worse that the compensation scheme took so dreadfully long. Women 'lucked' out there genetically or we'd have been equally affected.

Funnily enough, and I should have expected it, it's no comfort. No-one should suffer medical negligence or neglect.
