Guardian: weaponised emotional blackmail from 14yo 'trans' athlete

The Guardian's rearguard action on reality continues. Apparently the problem is not the parents and authorities who conspired to lie to this boy, coddle his delusions, disadvantage all girls around him in the service of his own wishful thinking etc etc etc: it's definitely the people who pointed it out:
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2026/jun/17/trans-athlete-no-one-should-face-vicious-attacks

I am prepared to feel a little sorry for the kid, who couldn't have been exposed like this if the useful idiots around him had done their fucking jobs. But the Grauniad can fuck off with the tired 'beee kiiiind' shit as a solution. Been there, binned the t-shirt. We want our shit back.

I’m a 14-year-old trans athlete. No one should face the vicious attacks I have faced | Lina Haaga

People understand gender differently, and I was taught to respect all ideas. But the vitriol I recently experienced was not a healthy debate

The anaconda would eat the gerbils if left in their enclosure. Oh hold on a minute maybe this is a very good analogy. What might happen if a man is left in a women’s space?

Not at all. If the anaconda was really a gerbil, of course it wouldn't eat gerbils.

Can I just say once again, that the anaconda/gerbil analogy was NOT started by me.

DumpyVictoria · 17/06/2026 20:11

Well, if the anaconda is really a gerbil, it wouldn't eat its gerbil friends, would it?

And since we've crossed into the realm of talking animals, the other gerbils and the anaconda would get to know each other as individuals, and the gerbils would realise that the anaconda is, in fact, a gerbil, and they would feel sorry for it because they themselves would hate to have the body of an anaconda when they are really a gerbil. And there would be much more love and understanding in the world than there is now.

😂😂😂

There are people out there who truly believe they’re Jesus or Napoleon or Cleopatra reincarnated too. Don’t believe them too? If not, why not?

Hmm. Well, I'm not sure I believe in reincarnation, but if I did, someone would have to be them, wouldn't they?

Which has nothing to do with anything, but shows your prejudice by bringing it up. No one has said we’re forced to agree with any religion except yours - the religion of gender ideology.

You said that you're not forced to follow that ways of God, and I pointed out that you live in a society that does follow them in many ways.

I am not prejudiced against anyone.

I don't think it's that simple. There are many, many types of minds. Some are good at maths. Some are good at art. Some are good at both. People are so varied, why is it so hard to believe that someone might, in their mind, really and truly feel that they are the other sex, even if, for most people, there's no conflict between their identity and their body?

They can feel that they are the other sex all they like. But they are not. That is simply a fact.

Foughties · 17/06/2026 21:14

My friend thinks the genes from their mum and dad have got mixed up and that's how they end up trans.

DumpyVictoria · 17/06/2026 21:13

MyrtleLion · 17/06/2026 21:11

So “she” has a penis. Probably a working one. I don’t want a working penis in women’s spaces. It’s a hard boundary. I’m allowed to set it.

You are not allowed to breach it on my behalf.

It depends what country you're in, doesn't it? In the UK now, trans people have to use the loo or changing room that accords with their sex assigned at birth. In the place where that story took place, that's obviously not the case. Of course I cannot breach the boundary on your behalf. I'm not sure what that means or how I would go about that. The things I'm saying are purely my opinions. I'm aware they carry no weight in law.

MyrtleLion · 17/06/2026 21:13

DumpyVictoria · 17/06/2026 21:04

OK, I should have said between two spouses. I was illustrating that in Christian societies we don't allow the man + four women marital configuration that Islam does.

Jolenepleasetakeawaymyman · 17/06/2026 21:12

DumpyVictoria · 17/06/2026 19:54

That's a false equivalence. Your anaconda is not telling you it's a gerbil, is it? It's not saying it has a gerbil's brain inside an anaconda's body and, as a result, knows it's a gerbil despite the anaconda casing.

In the unlikely event that an anaconda told me that it was really a gerbil inside but had the wrong body, I would believe the anaconda. I would get the anaconda an appropriately-sized gerbil wheel and some gerbil friends. That would be the kind and humane way to treat a trans-gerbil, whether you believe the anaconda or not.

HTH

FlirtsWithRhinos · 17/06/2026 20:56

I'll ask again, since you seem to have missed the question:

This whole trans thing only works if you
decide "girl" is really a type of mind.

Do you really think that?

That the fundamental defining difference betwen boys and girls, men and women, isn't the fact we simply have different bodies but that we have different types of minds?

So different in fact that this difference overrides the very stark and obvious differences of physical sex such that actually being male or female, with all that comes with it physically and socially especially for those of us who are physically female, is less significant than whether a person thinks like "a boy" or "a girl"?

Because that is where your beliefs go. So please, let's have some clear eyed honesty. Do you believe in different types of mind for men and women, or not?

I don't think it's that simple. There are many, many types of minds. Some are good at maths. Some are good at art. Some are good at both. You think it's detrimental because you don't believe them.

But why would anybody take hormones, expose themselves to complete ridicule and hate by dressing in stereotypically feminine clothes like dresses, heels and skirts - which can look pretty comical on a male body - and in many cases have surgery, if they weren't genuine? Why bring so much complete crap down on their own heads if not genuine?

Men who want to hurt women have ways to do so that are far easier for them, sadly for us.

A man recently amputated his own legs to satisfy his fetish, popping a few hormone pills and wearing a dress pales in comparison. Some men will go to extreme lengths.

Treaclewell · 17/06/2026 21:08

DumpyVictoria · 17/06/2026 20:58

If men and women were just the same, you'd see them choosing given interests and careers at the same rates, wouldn't you? But you don't.

If boys and girls were all taught exactly the same way ar home and school from birth you could make that comparison. But they aren't, so you can't.
Our science staff weren't allowed to order platinum electrodes, so we learned to lie about the results when we electrolised water.

SabrinaThwaite · 17/06/2026 21:08

OK, I looked it up. I see that that's a transwoman working at a YMCA pool in America, and the complainant is a ciswoman who doesn't like her being employed in the changing rooms. The worker is saving up for her procedures. There's nothing to say she isn't genuine. If the complainant is against transwomen then of course she would say that the worker was looking at the girls. If there's an agenda, it's harder to take her word for it. I'd need to see CCTV footage of the worker working to make that call.

Do you really think it’s appropriate for a male to be in the female changing rooms with women and girls?

Do you have the first idea about safeguarding?

You also said marriage is between a man and a woman. Not true.
And that “we frown on adultery”, but we don’t ostracise people, or criminalise them for having sex with someone else when they’re married. We actually make them our king.

But this is a diversion from your belief that it’s ok for men to pretend to be women.

If I have to pretend that men are women when they’re not it’s detrimental to me.
I don’t actually have to pretend I believe in God to enjoy Christmas.

You think it's detrimental because you don't believe them.

You have to worry about people who not only believe 4 year olds theories, but encourage them to live by them as they grow up.

“She” is saving up for a procedure. We’re not told which procedure but it does mean this person has an intact penis. That makes them male.

And I don’t want any man in my changing room, especially if he has a working penis.

I am not a cis woman.
I am a woman.
I entirely reject the term cis - biological reality renders it redundant.

cis is in the dictionary for Roman geography and organic chemistry, where it works approriately. It may be there as a record of usage but like other words not in general use, it doesn't mean everyone has to use it, especially when many have said they don't want it used. As is the case with dam-buster Gibson's innocent black lab. So bollocks to the dictionary argument.

Jesus, you really are that sexist aren't you?

Tell me, what do these hormones that make a person "really" the opposite do?

I assume (at least I hope!) you don't think they make male people bad at maths and like pink or something equally sexist, so tell me what is the actual, practical difference between a male person who got the boy brain hormone and a male person who got the girl brain hormone?

What is the meaningful observable quality that is different between them such that means the latter is a girl rather than a boy outside his own head as well as inside it?

If men and women were just the same, you'd see them choosing given interests and careers at the same rates, wouldn't you? But you don't.

I'm not denying anyone anything, and Britain follows the Christian calendar and has Christian ways, as I outlined above. The fact that some people practice paganism doesn't mean that we are not, broadly, a Christian society in ways and customs, if not churchgoing and prayer. Why else is everything closed on Christmas Day?
