Exactly. So very daft to think one type of mind belongs to men and another to women.

Bodies, on the other had, just are. And we can't change them so we have to live with whatever comes along with the body we have, the good and the bad.

So deciding the type of body that always used to mean "man" or "woman" actually doesn't mean that at all, and that a "man" or a "woman" is really a type of mind (a) doesn't change anything at all about all the things that come with the body - they will still happen to the same people regardless of what we call those people; and (b) creates a pointless division between minds that never needed to be there.

Altogther an exercise in total futility, done simply to satisfy people who have defined themslves based on their own sexist ideas about how the sexes are different mentally and now want to make everyone else line up with those definitions as well.

I've read somewhere that a lot of those genders were invented by girls hanging out on Tumblr or somewhere like that, but I can't remember where the reference came from. Does it ring any bells?

What does seem to be clear is that there is no consensus on how many genders there are and what they are, even among people who believe in them.

Same. It was an NHS form. I got to the section where it gave me a whole list of genders/ideologies I could choose from and I thought fuck it. I'm going to take it in to the doctor and ask him to 'help me complete it' I want to hear someone read it out loud and watch their faces while they do so.

Does it really seem sensible to you that there are so many words for gender identies to split nuances of identity ever finer, and and yet no space in all that for two simple words for the simple fact of two sexes?

Did you ever consider that maybe, just maybe, you've got this wrong?

Oh, well, this is disappointing. I thought we were finally going to get a proper answer from someone who had facts to back up their assertions. I suppose I will just have to chalk this one up to "has no idea what they are talking about, maybe once just heard someone say something like this." Very poor effort on your part, I have to say.

So does that mean a transwoman becomes a man again when they commit a crime? Or were they always a man, just pretending to be trans? If the latter, please tell me how we can tell the difference.

We do live in that world.

And the men refused to stop raping women and insisted they were perfectly safe and most definitely not rapists and then they went and raped women in women’s spaces. Because men are going to men and we can’t tell the non-rapey kind from the rapey ones.

So we stop all of the men and the non-rapey men are fine with our boundaries.

The problem is that, if you say we must believe the nice boy who says he’s a girl, @DumpyVictoria, we must also believe the convicted rapist who says he is a woman, or the predatory man who says he’s is a woman, or the intact male who says he is a woman and a lesbian, and that other lesbians are transphobes and bigots if they won’t let him have penetrative sex with them. They are different ends of the matter, but the trans rights activists use the nice trans ‘girl’ who just wants to play his sport to force us to accept the more extreme parts of their ideology. You will not be allowed to say that the trans women rapists are not real women, or that they should not be locked up with women.

This is the ideology you are espousing - I choose to accept none of it, and will not accept any male bodied persons in women’s or girls’ single SEX spaces.

Women need and deserve single SEX spaces, away from male bodied individuals.
