"If you're suggesting that white Brits don't do the kinds of things described in this report, I have a huge problem with what you're saying. I know that they do. Many, many girls and women who've been trafficked by white Brits know that they do."

There is absolutely no evidence of "white Brits" in their tens of thousands, running grooming gangs, targeting thousands of white underage girls, raping and abusing them, whilst being protected by the authorities. You obviously have some evidence of this, so please post the links.
Meanwhile, I have been married to a lovely woman from Iran for over thirty five years, she was not at all surprised that this was going on, because Iran has borders with Afghanistan and Pakistan and women and girls would never travel alone in those areas.
Males from that part of the World, have a very different view about behaviour to women and girls than males do in the West. You are obviously unaware of the 2015/16 New Year's eve sexual assaults in Cologne (and other German cities).

Agree with this. The Casey report stated that the fear of being called racist and Islamophobic played a part in the cover-up. Instead of calming the situation, it just causes more anger.

If we don't get a grip on this, we'll start electing far right politicians, which has happened in Germany, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Spain.

Yes I remember that. Extraordinarily tone deaf, dismissive and crass.

For people who read the Guardian it wouldn’t be surprising that they wouldn’t know about the NYE Cologne sexual assaults (a general point, not aimed at pp), given their disgraceful treatment of it.

Bring yourself to acknowledge the link between the culture of these men and their crimes. Just once.

If you're suggesting that white Brits don't do the kinds of things described in this report, I have a huge problem with what you're saying. I know that they do. Many, many girls and women who've been trafficked by white Brits know that they do.

I think it was good that the Pakistani rape gangs were separately investigated because the clan links are different and police and social workers should be aware and take them into account, though I wish other forms of trafficking and abuse were also investigated and taken seriously. I am very glad that these victims got to tell their stories because they're important. It's a huge problem and the UK needs to fix it.

But please keep in mind that the kinds of things described in the report are not uncommon for people who have been trafficked, regardless of whether the traffickers are Pakistani, British, Romanian, Indian, or whatever. Traffickers only care about the girls or women if it helps them make money. You are not human to them. You are a disgusting sex toy whose only value is in how much money you can bring the trafficker and, to a lesser extent, satisfy him sexually. (But many have fetishes, including sadism, and fetishes escalate. Think about what that means for the girls or women.)

At least when I was being trafficked (and when the women I knew who had been trafficked were trafficked), the police did not care, looked down on the girls/women and were often involved, again, regardless of the nationality or ethnicity of the trafficker.

I truly hope things are starting to change for all the women who are being abused or trafficked and I hope that all the victims of the Pakistani rape gangs find peace, hope, and justice.

This is a good post and I agree with you. I’m sorry you went through that Flowers

And if someone said Zack Polanski hates Jews you would probably bring that up as a counter argument. Just as someone has brought up Rupert Lowe's Middle Eastern family to counter your accusations against him.

It seems to me that Lowe has compiled a valuable collection of women's testimony about their experiences and - also importantly - about the systemic failures to help them. And it also seems to me that some people are very aggrieved that their ideological opponent might have done something good and that the information might run counter to their ideology.

So be it.

YY.

It could have been done better. Especially if the proper authorities with their resources had done it in good faith rather than as a whitewashing exercise. But it’s something that focuses on this issue entirely.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/06/2026 10:47

5128gap · 18/06/2026 08:34

Yes, there are people across the political spectrum who will take up the cases of victims because the crimes committed against them serve as examples to support an agenda/belief system. And this thread is about a report that exemplifies that.
Lowe wants a white Christian UK, and that, not the wefare of working class girls, is his motivating grievence.
I think we should be able to recognise that, and acknowledge when we feel that the input of an activist is unhelpful, in that it prevents any report from keeping women victims front and centre and overlooks other harms committed against them by other men who don't fit the narrative.
I also think it should be possible to put the obsession with left and right aside for a moment and look at this man and this report, to discuss whether his sole focus on immigration, and the resulting weakness of the report serves women well.
Yet any woman trying to do this on the thread is met with accusations of caring more about perpetrators than victims or dismissed as 'a bit silly' for doubting him because they disagree with his politics.
If this was left/right political, the smart move would be to join the chorus of praise for Lowe, given at the moment he is a huge asset to the left. But this is about the politics of sex and how women are abused and exploited by men, and how helpful we feel this report is to women.

It doesn’t matter whether you think it’s unhelpful. The women who took part walked away from the government inquiry because they weren’t happy with how it was going. You can sneer at Lowe all you like, who cares. I’m not going to defend him or his party. But those testimonies are powerful. And it gives them a voice. It’s like Let Women Speak, which many people also think is unhelpful.

And you won’t concede that the left exploit serious issues for political gain, but of course they do. All politicians do. It’s basically what politics is about. It’s a broad point. It doesn’t only apply to people you disagree with. I’m not sure you’re truly grasping or engaging with that point or that this exchange is adding much to the discourse so I’ll leave it there.

I have to say I'm glad I'm not a politician who is trying to walk the line of public acceptability re: immigration/remigration at the moment.

ChestnutSquash · 18/06/2026 10:26

Nobody is saying that groups of men of all ethnicities/ cultures/ races don't commit horrific organised crimes and assaults on women and girls. Awful cases are in the media every single day.
It took decades for the crimes in the catholic church to be exposed, but eventually we got there.
What frustrates me, and others, who have known about this particular scandal for decades, is the constant denial and whataboutery based around accusations of racism. Statistical evidence shows that race/ethnicity/culture of these perpetrators and victims is significant. It needs to be acknowledged and addressed. It is the reason this has been excused for so long.
It is my understanding that this was a cross party committee. I don't care who chaired it.
Previous enquiries over decades have produced the same facts and testimonies.
What is it going to take?
Half a dozen men in West Yorkshire were found guilty a couple of weeks ago. Everyone in the area has known for years who they were and what they did. They represent the tip of a huge iceberg.
One of the best known heroin dealers in the area has been going for decades. He is teflon coated.
I don't believe for one second he wasn't involved in supplying heroin to rapists.

This particular gang needs to be dealt with as well as all the others, not shelved again because some people are uncomfortable.

I think most of us here realise Rupert Lowe has a political agenda. Don't all politicians! What we don't want is for that to be the focus here. A report has been produced with valid testimonies of the survivors of this horrific child abuse that should be heard.

There are at least 2 previous reports, well respected and full of recommendations. Yet there is still a real problem with our establishment in stating that the rape gangs of children were and are mainly committed by a Muslim Pakistani men.

As we saw in Dundee more recently, children are being criminalised still today with police taking the word of an adult male before that of a child. Even when that child is presented with cuts and bruises.

Yes all politicians have agendas and I’m not convinced the silencing agenda from Labour and co is better, in fact it’s worse.

At this point I feel the repeated calls of "but what about the victims of White rapists?" don't so much help the victims of White rapists, so much as hinder helping the victims of the ethnic ones.

Rape has been a thing since before language. We're not going to solve it overnight. But the closest we've ever come to that is the modern Christian West.

And feel free to crack open some history books or stats if you want to check that.

I am not saying the women who gave evidence to Lowe's pseudo-inquiry were lying, and I would not say such a thing.
I'm saying that Lowe's organisation, which is riddled with neo-nazis and white supremacists, does not serve the interests of survivors.

So you read pages and pages of testimonies from raped girls and your first thought is, ‘who has been involved with producing this report, and do I like them?’

Bring yourself to acknowledge the link between the culture of these men and their crimes. Just once.

I think anyone unmoved by the survivors stories would need to be made of stone.
However, its perfectly clear that Lowe's interest lies in the perpetrators, specifically their ethnicity and religion, as this, not care for victims of rape and pedophilia, is the purpose and thrust of the report.
This is why he chooses only to blame immigration and ignore the other social issues that compounded their victimhood, such as parental neglect and abuse, as illustrated by the harrowing account of the rapes of the child 'Chloe' by her uncle and mother's partner, in her own home, which led her to escape to the town centre where she was targeted.
Lowe is enraged by the fact that the rapists of white girls were Pakistani Muslim men.
I'm unaware of any care shown by him for women, working class children or rape survivors in general from which to conclude he cares as much if not more than "many on the left" about female victims of male atrocities against them.

There's a reason for highlighting the ethnicity of the perpetrators. Because the ethnicity has functioned as a shield protecting them from investigation. And we know this from the Jay report (and sadly from personal experience for many).

Actually, two reasons for highlighting the ethnicity - because the gangs are predominantly organized along ethnic lines.

You know what, I'm going to go for three reasons. Because there are options with immigrant criminals that we don't have with native criminals - deportation.

It is the attitude of "we must not talk about ethnicity" that shut down the police investigations in the first place. People can decide what they want to do about it or not, but lets stop pretending there isn't a huge ethnic and immigration component in sexual abuse in this country. Especially of the organised kind.

How many here would be insane enough, as women, to walk around Pakistan or Afghanistan or much of India, unprotected? And if not, why does anyone imagine a plane journey changes people? It's not the landscape in Pakistan that sexually assaults you.

Because the response to the reporting the below atrocities is 'I don't like the guy who arranged the report' and 'far-right'.

A baby was abused and had cigarettes stubbed out on it while the mother was forced to watch; the baby was then killed.
Girls were set on fire.
Girls were sent to “red rooms” to be tortured, some of them killed, some of it livestreamed.
One girl was raped by a dog while men bet on whether it would vaginally or anally rape her.
Girls were forced to have abortions with knitting needles.
Glass bottles, keys, baseball bats, and other objects were forced inside them, some shattering.
Girls were gang-raped by dozens of men at a time in “party houses.”
Girls were whipped, hung upside down, suffocated, and urinated on.
Girls as young as 5 or 6 were tied up and abused.
Girls were locked in dog cages.
Girls were branded with an “M” for Muhammad.Girls were threatened with being killed and fed to pigs.
Girls were mocked for wearing a crucifix during the rapes.

And so you thought the logical conclusion was to... bomb those girls, their families, and their supporters?
