talking about the fact that Pakistani muslims are a minority of about 6% in the UK, yet some of the males from this demographic systematically raped, abused, terrorised and even killed vulnerable white girls-does not make someone racist.

inkognitha · 18/06/2026 13:15

It has been a saddening read, especially for the FWR board.

Sammy Woodhouse advocacy will NEVER be diminished by her talking to get the justice she deserves, whomever she may talk to.

How can some of you claim that her plight and experience should be put second behind "optics" or because RL etc etc etc?

Labour is losing women, Labour women don't see all women.

There are networks of pedophiles and rapists of every ethnicity, but to be able to summon 20-30 friends and relatives on short notice who also want to participate is pretty uniquely part of a very different culture.

There's a class hatred bubbling under the surface as well, white working class girls were ignored.

The mutliple rapists of Gisele Pelicot suggest otherwise. Vile men are everywhere, they have different victims and different methods of concealing their crimes but the hatred, contempt, and objectification of women and girls is the commonality

Pingponghavoc · 18/06/2026 08:41

Lowe wants a white Christian UK, and that, not the wefare of working class girls, is his motivating grievence.

His daughter in law is of Libyan descent.

I very much doubt he has any say so as to who one of his sons has married, so having a daughter in law in Libyan descenct is neither here nor there as a means of signalling that he is or is not racist. My father was a racist, one of his brothers was married to a Jamacian women and my dad had to button his lip when they came round. He said nasty things when they had left but nothing to their faces.

No and they're probably dead at this point. That's a comfort to me.

I'm pleased you have that knowledge and fully undetstand how it brings you comfort.

EasternStandard · 18/06/2026 12:08

Are The Guardian and BBC saying much or anything about all this?

Ik I could Google to see

The Guardian has lost a lot of credibility. They still report things but if it doesn't suit their agenda they will downplay it or skew their reporting. The Guardian has haemorrhaged readers.

Every print publication has haemorrhaged readers, the guardian is not unique in that regard and I'm not sure which paper is the largest loser (numbers or percentage). I think this change is largely a function of competing content being freely accessible online.

There’s a part 2, but here’s a contemporaneous Cologne thread that probably some people reading were on - not going to be gaslighted about what happened and the woeful media response by people who don’t know what they’re talking about doing a 5 second google.

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/in_the_news/2541548-Mass-sexual-assaults-in-Cologne-on-New-Years-Eve?utm_campaign=thread&utm_medium=app_share

That thread was started on 5 January 2016, the same date as the article I found.

I read through the first ten pages of the thread and there was a single (unanswered) question whether the guardian had published an article in those 10 pages,I didn't notice any other reference to that paper.

Apologies because I'm obviously missing something but it's not jumping out at me.

So you’re saying that their readers don’t read their publication? A novel interpretation of readers that…

Sorry, I was unclear. This subject is very triggering for me. I was only referring to the type of rape and abuse, not the scale. The scale of the Pakistani grooming gangs is horrific.

I was trafficked from the time I was young. I've known many other trafficked women because I sought them out for support.

That is awful, I am so sorry for what you had to go through. It is obvious that the authorities in this country do not use their resources correctly to deal with these horrific crimes.

GenderlessVoid · 18/06/2026 11:48

mrshoho · 18/06/2026 11:45

I'm so sorry for what you've endured. Were the people who abused you ever prosecuted? Please don't feel pressured to answer though, only if you are comfortable discussing further.

They stopped reading because they reported on them?

Feel free to read the January 2016 thread I linked for a real time overview of it all. Or start a new thread and ask about it. I’m not indulging your disingenuous questions here.

"If you're suggesting that white Brits don't do the kinds of things described in this report, I have a huge problem with what you're saying. I know that they do. Many, many girls and women who've been trafficked by white Brits know that they do."

There is absolutely no evidence of "white Brits" in their tens of thousands, running grooming gangs, targeting thousands of white underage girls, raping and abusing them, whilst being protected by the authorities. You obviously have some evidence of this, so please post the links.
Meanwhile, I have been married to a lovely woman from Iran for over thirty five years, she was not at all surprised that this was going on, because Iran has borders with Afghanistan and Pakistan and women and girls would never travel alone in those areas.
Males from that part of the World, have a very different view about behaviour to women and girls than males do in the West. You are obviously unaware of the 2015/16 New Year's eve sexual assaults in Cologne (and other German cities).

It’s not just me who thought it, if you ask lots of women here why they stopped reading the Guardian, their treatment of the attacks in Cologne would be near the top of the list.

Yes, the msm including the Guardian and the BBC do everything they can to minimise and downplay anything that doesn't suit their agenda of promoting immigration and multiculturalism.

Genuine question, because I honestly do not know.

Are there any published policy documents re promoting immigration and multiculturism ?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/06/2026 11:33

Mate, I remember what happened at the time. I didn’t say they didn’t cover it at all.

For people who read the Guardian it wouldn’t be surprising that they wouldn’t know about the NYE Cologne sexual assaults (a general point, not aimed at pp), given their disgraceful treatment of it.

It took less than 30s to turn up this https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jan/05/germany-crisis-cologne-new-years-eve-sex-attacks and there are many other articles on its website. So easy to disprove.

Cologne inquiry into 'coordinated' New Year's Eve sex attacks

Scores of women say they were sexually assaulted and mugged by groups of men largely of Arab and north African appearance

And if someone said Zack Polanski hates Jews you would probably bring that up as a counter argument. Just as someone has brought up Rupert Lowe's Middle Eastern family to counter your accusations against him.

It seems to me that Lowe has compiled a valuable collection of women's testimony about their experiences and - also importantly - about the systemic failures to help them. And it also seems to me that some people are very aggrieved that their ideological opponent might have done something good and that the information might run counter to their ideology.

So be it.

Clearly I wouldn't bring that up as a counter argument, would I, when my whole point is that a person's individual circumstances shouldn't be seen as some sort of guarantee of their attitudes? You can't decide in your own head what I'd say then use it to argue against me.
Either Lowe can't want a white Christian UK because his daughter in law is not British AND by the same token ZP can't be antisemitic because he's Jewish, or we allow that those things are irrelevant to both men's stances.
Anything else would be hypocrisy.
