Some replies on this thread - even now - explain clearly why this abuse was ignored - encouraged - for so long. People saying wrong writer, wrong people , I won't read it etc - make me sick. Many of these women participated in this inquiry (led by the amazing Sammy Woodhouse, Rotherham survivor) because they were let down by the government one. And the Bible explicitly contains incest as a moral "good". In most US states there is no legal minimum age to get married. You may also have heard about the international sex trafficking ring run by that well known Muslim convert Jeffrey E who has ties to other Muslims like Andrew and Donald.

I had been reading extracts such as the one I have attached, and I came back to this stupid purity whinging. What a fucking joke.

Testimonies are stories, they are the life scripts of the victims, their lived experiences. You seem to want to have a fight and I have no time for rows over nonsense. Think what you like, I think that the victims deserve better than this report.

It's a shame that the rape of women and girls is only worthy of your attention if the right person talks about it in exactly the right way.

The wrong people donated to make it happen
The wrong people held the inquiry
The wrong people wrote up the testimonies

These aren't stories. They are testimonies of child rape and torture victims and impact statements.

I imagine Lowe cares about these girls and what they went through as least as much, if not more, than many right thinking progressive types. And I mean that.

I am extremely well educated thank you and can separate out the stories. I have no wish to. There are enough things about that report to annoy me without getting repulsed by just the intro.

I can think about the victims without reading the report at all. I have no doubt about the veracity of their testimony. I feel they have been done a great disservice by the introduction, which should have focused on them first and foremost. They deserve better.
