@Ereshkigalangcleg I’m not saying no don’t believe any of them, but we should certainly be wary of this man’s motives (and the resultant skew that ignores all the other abuses that happen), plus - how on earth, as a country, do we have so many vulnerable girls? What is up with their families and backgrounds, and what is being done to fix that?

You’re deflecting with this, we should believe the victims.

thefloorislavayes · 17/06/2026 11:20

I'm currently reading Chloe's case. I'm shocked, in tears, and seriously contemplating moving my family to a safer country.
I suppose one of the reasons it's written this way is because it wasn't commissioned by the government. It was crowdfunded by ordinary people, and ordinary people expect accessible language.
If you are a real person who has read the report, I'm also shocked by your reaction. To read about what that little child went through - to be tortured, abused, and failed by everyone in her life - and to know this has happened to hundreds of thousands of girls over the last 26 years, yet be concerned about the way the report is written?
I'm sorry, but that concern strikes me as exactly the kind of detached, class-based arrogance that has allowed this to happen for so long. The victims were ignored, dismissed and abandoned, while too many people worried about appearances, procedures and reputations.
The writing style is the least surprising thing in that report. The contents are.

The protection of Muslim rapists really is the hill that some people want to die on. I don't think they can be helped tbh.

That doesn’t mean I agree with Rupert Lowe on much else, or that I support him or his party.

THIS!

I would like to know how this report is independent or to be trusted, when commissioned by a man who wants nothing more than to create hatred and division. Surely nobody can read even a fraction of it and not see the glaring political agenda here? This is surely what the word “propaganda” was intended to encompass.

He has reported facts. Real life testimonies. Which is more than Starmer or any other politician has done. No 'propaganda' required. The facts speak for themselves. Is that what you're afraid of? The truth hurts, doesn't it?

That's pure twaddle.

You cannot be serious.
It explains exactly what has gone on and what continues to go on.

Okay, but aside from your opinion about the politician involved in it - how do you feel about the reality of thousands of victims who were systematically raped? You haven't said much about that...

I believe the women and girls, including Sammy Woodhouse who led it.

@PollyNomial There have already been investigations by the Catholic Church and CoE. These were published at the time.
If you think there should be more it is up to you you to organise it. Recruit the Board of experts like Rupert Lowe did rent a room collect victims willing to speak. Have some lawyers to question them and prove they are truthful and not fantasists like Carl Beech. Organise the CrowdFunding.
In short get on with it and not sit back and snipe.

By the same token it appears that some of these posters think there should have been no examination of churches, “all men rape” should cover it, no?

Northermcharn · 17/06/2026 11:14

PollyNomial · 17/06/2026 11:09

In the whole of written history, it is impossible to find a nation, ethnicity or culture/religion of any kind where men have not raped children (found them fair game) of their own nation/ethnicity/culture/religion or any other group.

You've avoided my question. You said 'white men see white girls as fair game'. How do Muslim men view Muslim girls?

Northermcharn · Today 09:56
And how do Muslim men view Muslim girls? Not fair game because they're wearing black clothes that cover any skin / hair which would encourage them to be raped by helpless men?

It ignores all the organised abuse carried out by employees or officers of the RCC and CoE. It does not attempt to rigourously examine why several institutions failed these victims. It is as independent as a report written solely by the Communist Party of Britain.

But if the mainstream parties would acknowledge it, condemn it, allow open honest discussion, then the extreme far right would become quite insignificant bar a small minority. What we have now is Labour, Liberal Dems, Greens, Conservatives still not facing up to the fact that predominantly male Muslim Pakistani men are responsible for such vile child abuse on mass. Has anyone from the Labour government condemned the way GMB tried to silence Sammy?

That's all fair enough.
Definitely open discussion and that producer on GMB should be pinged as the Rotherham situation was race related.

OneAmberFinch · 17/06/2026 11:12

I wish everyone who disingenuously posts that Britain is a horrible misogynistic rape culture would move to the likes of rural Pakistan.

It'll be culturally enriching I'm sure.

What should they know of England who only England know?

Northermcharn · 17/06/2026 11:11

Onmytod24 · 17/06/2026 10:48

If actual testimonies are used of course that’s not rubbish it’s the conclusions the emotive language everything about the report that means it’s not a report. It’s just a mad diatribe against a group in society absolutely bonkers anyone reading it and thinking it sticking up for women pathetic.

What do you mean 'if' actual testimonies are used. Actual testimonies are used.

You called the report a load of rubbish. Within the report are actual testimonies, as is very very clear. So I repeat, are you saying the testimonies are a load of rubbish?

I am not dismissing the realities on sex crimes. Am I ?

Do you agree that there are issues which need to be addressed here? Particularly in how the race element of the crimes meant that many people in authority who had a duty of care to these children could turn their backs on these girls with impunity?

@PollyNomial Did you answer this question? I can't find it.

In the whole of written history, it is impossible to find a nation, ethnicity or culture/religion of any kind where men have not raped children (found them fair game) of their own nation/ethnicity/culture/religion or any other group.

RedTagAlan · 17/06/2026 11:08

Plimfoot · 17/06/2026 11:05

@RedTagAlan

I always internally question the motives of men that are so quick to dismiss the realities of sex crimes.

I mean, so many of these crimes are committed yet men are always so dismissive of it happening and don't believe the victims . It's not women doing it to each other is it?

Every day we see examples of the depravity of male behaviour in the pursuit of sexual gratification.

A man taking the time to try and discredit a report about child sex abuse, torture and systemic exploitation, especially on a womens social board, just seems extremely worrying to me and if I knew a male in real life that held those views I would give him a wide berth at best and actually probably avoid being around him fullstop.

Nothing should be covered up but the GMB situation is another opportunity for the extreme far right to exploit for their own ends.

Did I dismiss any of the victims ?

Read what I said. A disservice to the victims is what I said.

I am saying a report published By A MAN is practically a disservice to the victims.

You need to clarify what you meant by

There are an awful lot of claims being made in this report with no evidence presented. I mean beyond what the victims said

because it appears you are dismissing the victims, yes.

It was published by a male MP. The inquiry lead was Sammy Woodhouse, a Rotherham survivor.

I think there are serious issues here and they need to be seriously investigated and dealt with, but having Lowe's name attached instantly makes one suspect there may be other motives here which may have biased the investigation.

I take it you didn’t contribute to the crowdfunder then?!
