It is harrowing.

I think it is a racist crime.

I think we need to look banning more extreme sects of Islam. I do not see the peaceful ahmadiyya muslims in the next village raping white girls.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/06/2026 12:00

Read the Casey report into Rotherham council, @HPFA- claimed fear of racism was very much an issue, genuine or feigned.

Paganpentacle · 17/06/2026 12:00

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/06/2026 11:57

I think this is very true. When labels like “far right” are overused, they lose their power, just like when you get called a Nazi for saying women are female.

Indeed.
I'll take being called far-right by grooming gang sympathisers.

HPFA · 17/06/2026 11:58

Shedmistress · 17/06/2026 08:55

Crikey.

A report on the systematic abuse of thousands of girls and the inability to do anything about it because of the fear of being called 'racist' is not worth bothering about.

You realise that is the very reason nobody did anything? So you are just playing the exact same game? Nice.

Fear of racism wasn't the issue in most cases.

Authorities didn't care about the girls because they were seen as "slags" and "asking for it".

The same mentality as the Yorkshire Ripper murders and a police chief referring to "moving on to innocent women" when a student was murdered and not a sex worker.

If people genuinely thought "fear of racism" was an issue they could just stop using these incidents to fuel racism and attacks on immigrants.

My apologies - but maybe it would have been preferable to express that so eloquently in your first post.

Much appreciated x

Look at Labours demographics. Their main core voters. They won't rise against this. They would be ostracising any voters they have left.

Exactly this. Plus their support for incestuous marriages and subsequent children, within the muslim community (despite the costs incurred in future). Plus the benefits for life demographic. Labour have sewn up a couple of sections of voters here haven't they.

Unfortunately, it also means that if wanting child rape gangs investigated makes you far right, people will wonder what's wrong with being far right.

I can't seem to make people get this. The performance of virtue, the need to satisfy a self image even when it's based on total inversion of truth, seems to override it all. There's simply nothing far right about investigating a serious CSA crime network.

At least he listened to these girls.

Anyone remember little Owen's contribution?

Labour voters if there are many left will focus on Lowe over the voices of victims.

Very sad. We are now a society that chooses not to protect children from rapey men.

Rapey men are seen as the victims of Rupert Lowe - incredible.

Yes this 100%

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/06/2026 11:52

All these cases were a complete failure of multi agency safeguarding. The system which was supposed to protect these girls completely let them down.

I've started looking at it. The language is surprisingly emotive for a professional report (understandable given the subject matter but nevertheless surprising for a report of this nature).

The foreword by Lowe calls for the death penalty, which obviously we currently don't have.

I have a bad feeling about the likelihood of Lowe trading on these terrible experiences for political capital.

I wouldn't trust a word he said.

He's been around a long time, I have longer. I don't remember anybody caring much about similar things when I was young, the girls always got the blame. It's good that it is now being taken seriously with many arrests but he is using it for his own warped agenda. Forty or fifty years ago he wouldn't have wanted to know.

SwirlyGates · 17/06/2026 11:49

Without reading the report (and you can tell me if I'm wrong), I would surmise that the victims were not random. They would be vulnerable girls (no boys in this case, I think?) who were out on the streets with no particular place to go, whose caregivers did not know/care where they were, or had lost control of them. This would be most likely girls in care homes, or girls already being abused. It wouldn't be the girls studiously doing their homework in their bedrooms.

No some were middle class girls. I recommend you read it. These girls suffered and people knew and didn’t help. This could have been any girl who lived in the wrong place or met the wrong boyfriend.

Fathers were arrested for trying to retrieve their daughters. Please look up Marlon West - he is on Facebook and X. He tells his story as a father.

Unsurprisingly some people are more bothered about Rupert Lowe than thousands of raped children. I do wonder if any of the posters helped the extensive cover up of the gang rape of children.

The report is harrowing and it was crowd funded. Restore Britain as a political party didn’t exist when the crowd funding was done. The fact the public had to crowd fund to get victims justice is incredible and it’s clear why Starmer hates X and wants digital ID as the money was raised very quickly.

I have followed this since the crowd funded - I believe Lowe does care and it’s clear THOUSANDS of people knew about this and covered up for dirty pedos. These people are wives, mothers, sisters of perpetrators, teachers, nurses, doctors, social workers, counsellors, councillors, police officers, MPs etc. And I always wonder how many are on Mumsnet threads worrying about themselves and their jobs and reputation and deflecting as private prosecutions are next.

It was all over the U.K. so so many women must have known and prioritised dirty raping men over children.

Labour voters if there are many left will focus on Lowe over the voices of victims.

One of the things that struck me the most from that report is just how many of these girls were sexually or physically abused by their parents (mothers too). I suspect most - not all - of their parents didn't care what was happening.

It's clear this cycle of abuse starts in the home in the vast majority of cases.

Absolutely. It needs a fully joined up approach, and social services particularly needs overhauling.

Northermcharn · 17/06/2026 11:50

luckylavender · 17/06/2026 11:46

No, I think he's a populist. He'll say anything

Do you think that means the victim testimonies he provides in the report should be ignored?

Twiglets1 · 17/06/2026 11:49

godlikeAI · 17/06/2026 11:19

@Ereshkigalangcleg I’m not saying no don’t believe any of them, but we should certainly be wary of this man’s motives (and the resultant skew that ignores all the other abuses that happen), plus - how on earth, as a country, do we have so many vulnerable girls? What is up with their families and backgrounds, and what is being done to fix that?

Seriously? First you want to focus on Rupert Lowe rather than the testimony of the women & girls who got sexually abused. Then you imply it is somehow the fault of the victims - their families & background.

Anything but look hard at who the perpetrators were. Because some people really don’t want to place blame there.

It is unfathomable what was done to these children.

The worst possible things it wasn't just rape. I feel ill having read some of it, if I was a parent of one of these youngsters I'd be incandescent with rage.

It’s interesting that many of the initial comments are about how the report isn’t expressing itself properly, the wrong people are saying it, and how it’s going to be used to “create division” instead of what the report actually says.

All ways to dismiss the content without having to consider it at all.

Where have I heard that before?

No. They are ways to flag up an important issue with the report. Which is that the content needs to be front and centre, with facts and evidence presented to the public in order for them to draw their own informed conclusions.
The voices that need to be heard here are those of survivors, families and experts.
By centering himself and his views, with recommendations based on his own political stances, Lowe contaminates the report. What should be an unbiased public information piece, amplifying the voices of those that matter, becomes a tool to support his agendas on immigration and the penal system.
