My wife was a social worker in Wakefield up to the year 2000. I knew that this sort of thing was going on then, although not that it involved gangs. My wife's clients had family members and friends who were involved with asian men in Dewsbury. The police described this as child prostitution and her managers were not interested in helping her. My wife told the fathers to follow their daughters around and make a nuisance of themselves until these men stopped seeing the girls. The girls were 12 -14 years old. The police were not bothered about appearing racist in the 1990s but obviously thought the girls were the guilty ones.

I can guess @SionnachRuadh

I don’t know what it means. Or who it’s meant to be on the thread.

SionnachRuadh · 17/06/2026 19:53

There is an actual Comrade Delta enjoyer on this thread, but I'll probably be suspended if I specifically mention them.

As far as Lowe is concerned, I'd suggest posters acquaint themselves with his propaganda chief Carl Benjamin. As champions of women go, he's got an interesting record.

Can’t you comment on the content of the report rather than its writer? Surely if it’s all absolute nonsense you should easily be able to swiftly destroy it?

Fair enough. But what do you think about the victim testimonies within the report?

Or do you dismiss the whole report because you've <check notes> 'lost respect' for the person who wrote it?

No, of course not. But the commentary is not worth reading when the line being taken is ‘hang them.’ The death penalty was removed in this country for very good reasons. One of those that is often overlooked is that juries are probably less willing to convict if the penalty could be death.

There have been several miscarriages of justice exposed in recent years. Long prison sentences should be awarded in cases such as these.

Hello,
I am a 62 your old man interested in women's views

FernFaery · 17/06/2026 19:51

Also, as a Catholic, I will add the Catholic Church has absolutely not been protected and covered up by communities of ordinary Catholics. In fact, the victims were all Catholic children who often reported as adults. And absolutely nobody shied away from the ‘Catholic’ element because they feared being called a bigot. It’s interesting the left wing here have zero issues saying ‘Catholics’ but cannot bring themselves to say ‘Muslim’ without ‘oooh, that’s racist’.

Well, I just wish you'd all decide whether I'm far right or far left.

I've been banging on for years, with little effect, about the abuse of women in left wing politics, and I often attract passive-aggressive sniping on FWR from posters who accuse me of being a Tommy Robinson supporter when I mention the labour movement funding the rape enablers in the Socialist Workers Party. Nobody openly defends the SWP, they just think it's low class and politically suspect to mention their rape coverups.

Now I find myself in the firing line for pointing out that Rupert Lowe has quite a few extremely dodgy individuals in his party, and that - much as I respect Sammy Woodhouse's advocacy for victims - maybe it wasn't a genius idea for her to agree to be a featured speaker at a conference full of literal fascists, and ask if this is likely to alienate people who might otherwise support her cause. No! - this is being nasty to Uncle Rupert, who is the only man who cares.

I suppose the best I can do is call things like I see them and remember that political tribalism is a hell of a drug.

I don’t think he is the only man who cares, and neither do I think he doesn’t have an agenda. Any comments I’ve made have been to people who think only right wing people exploit political issues for their agendas, while the left are the only people who care and are pure as the driven snow. Which is clearly bollocks.

Who are you quoting in bold?

You specifically came after me for pointing out that Sammy had been a featured speaker at Sellner's conference. You made it very clear that this was no big deal and we shouldn't be discussing it.

EasternStandard · 17/06/2026 19:45

Yes.

If you have a problem with Sammy hanging out with Hitler fanboys then you're saying victims don't matter.

I heard you.

This thread is unbelievable. If people have read this report (which I assume they have to be on this thread) and more concerned about Lowe than child torture then what the hell has happened to peoples values and morals.

I am a floating voter but if the left wing parties continue the way they are I will NEVER vote for a left wing party again. In fact listening to left wing views on this matter has been eye opening if not downright depressing. These children have been let down by so many people and if defending them and being upset about what happened to them makes me a nasty far right person so be it. Maybe the right would prefer my vote and support going forward. Least they bloody did something about it!

After this thread I can totally understand why it was covered up and as I said upthread maybe some posters are the officials or families of the men involved? I can see why a thick skinned man like Lowe was the only type of person who would touch this matter. Fair play to him. I’d thank him and buy him a pint if I saw him.

Surely it’s racist to treat Pakistani Muslim Rapists as victims rather than perps. We would never say the same if a white rape gang raped children. I don’t remember anyone on here defending the men who raped Giselle Pellicot - I believe some of their defence was they thought she was in on it. They thought she had consented. Yet no one on here said oh poor French blokes maybe they were duped by Mr Pellicott. Happy to be corrected if I missed comments of this nature. I believed Giselle (quite rightly) and I believe the Raped children.

Tbh isn’t it racist to expect less from men because they are not of British heritage?
Do we think they the Rape gang men are incapable of knowing rape is wrong? Incapable of controlling their urges? They don’t understand right from wrong? Or do they just not understand the law?

Why do we expect less from some nationalities and allow the rapists to get away with this crime - THAT is surely racist!

I also think these rapists may well be conservative politically - they come from very conservative cultures, arranged marriage, lack of women’s rights, women in the home without freedom, very religious, they don’t agree with homosexuality. They don’t seem to be liberal ideals? They may vote Labour but it doesn’t mean they agree with Labours policies on Gay rights or equality for women. It may be Labour are just easier to manipulate and they will ignore the raping and torture in their constituency.

I don’t care if the gangs are black, white, conservative or liberal. Millionaires or peasants. They need locking up or sending back to their country of origin if dual nationals. They can face the punishment they were told would happen had they raped ‘back home’. If that is death - so be it.

At present we are known as a country that allows men from around the world to rape children and have the crimes covered up by professional’s. Are we attracting rape tourists from across the globe? The majority of rapists get away with it. I think that we need a government who is tough on serious crime and tbh that would have to be a Right Wing party looking at their policies.

I never expected such whataboutery for victims of rape on Mumsnet. It’s really depressing and there is a good chance some victims and their families are reading this. I really hope they get the justice they deserve.

Yes, well said. All communities should be held to the same standard.

The left can't possibly expect to keep the white working class on side if they allow another group to abuse and torture white working class children.

Either everyone is ‘exploiting for political gain’ or nobody is.

It isn’t the case that beliefs can only be truly and sincerely held if they’re left wing beliefs.

What ‘agenda’ has Lowe got besides wanting to be PM (like the rest of them)? He donates his MP salary, doesn’t seem interested in money. Is his ‘agenda’ simply that he’s right wing?

I agree.

In fact if people feel the Pakistani community are being unfairly associated with CSE they should welcome a thorough investigation to set the record straight.

Unfortunately theres fairly widespread evidence now that entire communities colluded or worked together to cover up the rape gangs and hinder the prosecutions.

This isn’t a case of ‘it’s just men…’

I can’t think of any other entire communities which collaborate to protect paedophiles.

My very simplistic thoughts are:

The report is amateurish and Rupert Lowe has an agenda; however, if successive governments and people with authority hadn’t refused to tackle this (or worse tried to cover it up) there would have been an official report and no need for this inquiry.

I think Sammy is incredibly brave and courageous. I may not agree with her political views - although who knows what my views on many things would be if they were shaped by experiences like hers. If I’d been through what these victims had been through maybe I would support the death penalty and remigration.

If a young Pakistani girl had been brutalised like this by white British men the left would have no problem with the victim being anti-white and anti-British.

Rupert Lowe has only been able to do this because of all the failures to address the issue.

In this context I really don’t care about Rupert or Sammy’s views on other things or whether they are far right, these victims have been treated abominably. No one should be scared of an inquiry into child sexual exploitation.

I suspect they wouldn’t have used deliberately inflammatory, racist and anti-immigration language to cynically exploit these victims to their own political advantage. 🤷‍♀️

I remember when you didn’t have to agree with every last little thing someone said to listen to what they had to say, but that was before everyone was a nazi.

Those poor women and girls. I can’t imagine going through all that and then the only politician that is willing to listen to you is from some tiny party no one has really heard of because it’s tumbleweed from the people who have the power to actually do something about it. It’s a disgrace on all levels. Blaming the women and their families for talking to the only people listening is really low.

Absolutely.

From the report;

NextSteps
● Publish this Inquiry’s full witness statements.
● Seek out further witness statements so that more victims can tell their
story.
● Name within Parliament those found to have enabled the rape gangs.
● Continue initiating civil proceedings and private prosecutions where
appropriate.
● We have had more women come forward since our formal hearings took
place. Be in no doubt that we intend for our Rape Gang Inquiry to have a
long life well beyond the publication of this one report. It will be updated
as and when we learn more about the most horrific blight on our national
story. This is the initial phase of a larger mission to make sure that no
such avoidable atrocities can happen ever again.

I wonder how soon will the names of those who enabled the rape gangs be published? Very soon I hope! The NCA announced yesterday 8 police forces will be reopening closed cases. Lots of talk about how no stone will be left unturned and no one is put of reach of the law. Hope there is some very worried people right now. Was it just a coincidence that this announcement came the same day as the rape gang report was published?

I wondered about that timing too.
