Dundee girl with axe verdict- Ilia Belov found guilty of assault and injury

Interesting and shocking in equal parts. I suppose they did it for a political aim. How worrying is that? I’m still unsure how the cctv they examined backed up the two adults account if there was also cctv which subsequently showed the girls were telling the truth. The most the police could have said is that they hadn’t seen evidence as of yet which showed what the girls had claimed. And, indeed they should have said nothing in any case.

Where has the ‘we’re investigating an incident’ gone? Just so they don’t start peddling what turns out to be disinformation. And if it was for a political aim, I think that is what it is really.

I recall seeing a series of statements as you describe but the only one on the Police Scotland website that has been archived is the one posted by @noshade Same statement from Aug 2025 to June 2026.

The other statements must have been published in News articles or on social media.

I agree and as someone who watched unfold in real time with the constantly changing statements and all the lies from MSPs, police and Internet warriors etc it can be hard to know what's true especially when people disappear their previous statements.
All of this makes me long for the days when people couldn't just delete things with the push of a button and pretend that they didn't say the things that they did

Thanks. I'm not questioning the views on this thread, just be clear. But so much of it is second-hand, and it's hard to judge the police's actions/conduct without being able to see exactly what was said.

Yes @noshade there was 1 before that which talked about having reviewed cctv and then another after aswell and yet another after that, which mainly talked about the girl and at the very end mentions that 2 adults had also been arrested but didn't say what for or the charges or that it was the 2 who the police previously claimed were the victims.

There were a couple but most have disappeared from their website and Facebook etc acounts (oh what a surprise) and there's now a grudging statement about their previous statement not being "wholly accurate".
I hope someone has archived or screenshoted them as out of the 4 or 5 that were put out up here i can only find 2 and a new 1 say that the others were inaccurate 🤬

They said that cctv showed the man and his companion encountering a group of youths, and that they had not found evidence of the man committing a crime – which was true enough at the time (the separate cctv footage showing him pushing the girl to the ground had not yet been retrieved).

It was a serious error of judgement to make any statement at all, when the matter was still under investigation, was sub judice regarding the offensive weapons charge, and was subject to reporting restrictions because of the involvement of minors.

Also, the fact that the police thought their statement would be in some way reassuring shows a shocking lack of understanding of human nature.

When the additional footage was retrieved, the case became sub judice regarding the assault charge against the man, and he could not be named in the press release about that charge, because of the involvement of minors: the full picture only came out at trial.

Hamza should have kept quiet about an ongoing investigation.

The Daily Mail article would still have happened.

Just the same as the police tried to slander Henry Nowak even after he was dead and the CPS intervened to tell the police to back off as it would affect the jury trial.

What did the police statement say exactly?

The police actively lied to the public when putting out their statement about "misinformation" this lie was picked up and spread by useless and co to paint the girls as racist thugs.
The question is why did the police lie to the public and slander her, potentially contaminating the jury pool when this was a live investigation and Scotlands extremely strict contemp laws will have been in effect

So, it is strange for Hamza to say that it appears after reviewing the CCTV, the police found nothing to support the girls’ claims. (Paraphrased). If the police hadn’t stated that (and goodness knows they did issue a statement with misinformation) could Hamza have simply made it up for good measure?

Well, seeing as the police said it was the girls who started it all by approaching the two Bulgarians, and didn’t withdraw it when it was reviewed on CCTV as far as I aware, I suppose newspapers thought they were dealing with the facts. You don’t expect the police to be essentially lying. If unsubstantiated, they might have just released a statement that they were investigating an incident involving the parties.

Now, Hamza jumped on the misinformation given by the police with apparent glee, and just used it for his own purposes. One thing I am surprised about, is that he said that after the police reviewed the CCTV, nothing was revealed to support the girls’ claims about Belov and Belova. I though the CCTV did support the girls’ story. So, I wonder if Hamza was not telling the truth about the CCTV, or if he was simply repeating something the police stated about the CCTV.

With Swinney getting involved, it really was a campaign of disinformation/misinformation by the state.

When did the police finally take down their misinformation about the girls approaching (and implying they were the instigators in the whole thing) the man and woman, I wonder?

No it wasn't. Unheard should hang their heads in shame. What is concerning apart from the police behaviour is that there are no investigative journalists in this country who retain a healthy scepticism and are prepared to dig up evidence, let alone the police who are supposed to be sceptical.

It wasn't just the Daily Mail though was it.

I knew nothing of this and I am appalled at the comments made by people who should know better.

It was sickening how so many piled in on the young girls, automatically giving the benefit of the doubt to an adult male who was very obviously taunting them while videoing them. That girl looked absolutely terrified!

I seriously doubt that this would have been their reaction if the man had been white working class. They would probably have speculated that he was likely a "flag shagger" paedophile who supported Tommy Robinson and made much of the fact that "white men do bad things too!" Like we don't know that 🙄

Other papers republished the stories with the "heart warming" photos of the man with his wife and baby.

There were over 500 comments under one copy of the video posted on Facebook and the "anti-racists" were out in force condemning the girls - who were just children! There was no convincing them that if all they had to go on was the video that it was more than reasonable to give the girls the benefit of the doubt - rather than the man who was tormenting them.

The perp himself was in there commenting on Facebook and he even posted that he sold her the knife himself! Presumably that was a lie too because I haven't read that it came up in the court case.

At the time, when all that was known about it was the video, it was disgusting that so many people were prepared to take his word for what happened and even disbelieved one of the mothers when she posted photos of the injuries to her daughter.

In the early evening of 23 August 2025, Ilia Kostadinov Belov, alias ‘Fatos Ali Dumana’, who describes himself as a ‘Gypsy gangster’ and originally comes from the central Bulgarian province of Stara Zogana, sexually harassed a group of young girls in Dundee, Scotland. Among the girls were Lola (12) and her sister Ruby (13). When the young girls tried to escape the situation, ‘Fatos Ali Dumana’ and a relative of his kicked and punched 13-year-old Ruby, injuring her severely. Only when Ruby's 12-year-old sister Lola intervened with a hatchet and a knife and stood protectively in front of her sister did ‘Fatos Ali Dumana’ and his companion end the attack. ‘Fatos Ali Dumana’ immediately pulled out his mobile phone, started filming and approached the girls again, harassing Lola in particular, who constantly tried to defend herself and move backwards. However, ‘Fatos Ali Dumana’ put Lola in such distress that the girl was once again forced to keep the ‘Gypsy gangster’ at bay with the hatchet and knife she was carrying. When the police arrived shortly afterwards, 12-year-old Lola was arrested instead of the assailant ‘Fatos Ali Dumana’, while ‘Fatos Ali Dumana’ was only questioned briefly by the police and then allowed to leave the scene.

The footage went viral, and ‘Fatos Ali Dumana’ began portraying himself in the media as the victim of an attack by a 12-year-old girl, while the serious injuries suffered by 13-year-old Ruby as a result of the brutal attack by Ilia Kostadinov Belov, alias ‘Fatos Ali Dumana’, and his accomplice, were concealed from the public by the Police Scotland and the mainstream media:

It took several days and countless alternative media outlets and supporters to counter and correct the lies of the ‘Gypsy Gangster’ and the misinformation of the mainstream media before the world, with the result that ‘Fatos Ali Dumana’ and his companion were belatedly but ultimately charged with assault, and above all, Lola was widely rehabilitated in the eyes of the public. ‘Dundee has got a problem according to the News: Just in January 2025 were five convicted following dedicated investigation into exploitation and trafficking in Dundee. Four men and one woman have been convicted following an extensive investigation into sexual exploitation, human trafficking and the supply of drugs in Dundee (all of the convicted were gypsies from Romania). Dundee also seems to have its own ‘Women's Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre’, probably not for no reason.

According to The Herald is Dundee at the 'top' of the crime list in Scotland. In the year 2023/24, it registered 847 crimes for every 10,000 inhabitants.

The number of sexual crimes doubled in Dundee since 2007 according to the Police Scotland. Datas can be easily researched through OSINT.

The situation is obviously bad enough in some areas of the city that young girls from those areas feel the need to carry knifes and hatchets to protect themselves against grooming gangs and all sort of other criminals and crazy people who stalk them.

The best example for that is Lola and her encounter with the self-styled ‘Gypsy-Gangster’ as Ilia Kostadinov Belov alias ‘Fatos Ali Dumana’ describes and represents himself at numerous postings on his social media accounts.’

(MY NOTE: I could not find any evidence that the Bulgarian police operation mentioned below is connected in any way with what happened in Dundee nor any evidence that Ilia Belov aka Fatos Ali Dumana belongs to the "Kalaidzhi" clan or any other clan, although that is certainly possible.)

‘Fatos Ali Dumana’ brought not only himself but also his entire clan onto the radar and thus into the focus of a further investigation into the structures of his clan, which criminal investigators describe as a transnational criminal organisation.

In this context, we would like to announce that the Bulgarian authorities reacted immediately on 25 August, two days after the attack on the girls in Dundee on 23 August, and took the first steps in the form of a ‘police operation’ against one of the settlements that serves as a safe haven in Bulgaria for the clan of ‘Fatos Ali Dumana’:

On 25 August 2025, the settlement, one of the retreat areas of the ‘Fatos Ali’ clan in Bulgaria, was surrounded by the local police and 101 illegally build houses were demolished with bulldozers and excavators in a single morning. Further houses in the settlement were searched, two criminals were arrested, drugs were seized and stolen goods were recovered. The settlement had also illegally tapped into the city's electricity and water supply, a situation that was also put to an end by the local police forces on that day. The Bulgarian Ministry of the Interior had ordered the ‘police operation’.

(The next part about the "Virgin Bride Market" is true though.)

It is worth to mention that a ‘cultural event’ takes place every year in the hometown of Ilia Kostadinov Belov, alias ‘Fatos Ali Dumana,’ that deals with the Gypsy clan to which he belongs:

‘Every spring, the town of Kazanluk in the Stara Zagora region of central Bulgaria hosts a controversial bride market where young virgins are paraded before suitors who bid for them. The market is the largest annual gathering of the 18,000-strong Bulgarian Roma clan of the Kalaidzhi.’

Police and the First Minister appeared to suggest the child, then 12, was lying about being attacked by Bulgarian creep Ilia Belov when she brandished the blades.

But it’s claimed this led to her being bombarded with threats and abuse.
Her mother, who was also wrongly branded a crackhead, revealed she even had to send her daughter to stay with a relative after a threat to firebomb their home.
