Be Kind 2.0 and the "Persuasive TRA"

This is a spinoff from another thread so as not to derail the original.

I thought it would be helpful to have a separate thread to discuss, and document, a phenomenon I have been seeing more regularly recently: the Persuasive TRA.

It occurred to me, after a few posters noted that the recent U-turns by a couple of politicians, and the wheedling TRA responses to the EHRC guidance, were akin to an abuser changing tactics and also asking us to "help" them in the new single-sex regime, that the whole thing is starting to pan out exactly as an abusive relationship often does. When is the most dangerous time for a woman in an abusive relationship? Normally, when she is leaving.

Well, women are leaving the abusive relationship with non-reality that men forced upon us some 15 years ago, and I would argue that now might be our most dangerous/difficult moment.

This is what I posted on the other thread:

I'm starting to see a bit more of what I am calling (in my own head) "Persuasive TRA." Now that they have lost everything that they bullied women for, some activists seem to be changing tack. Women must now fix the situation that TRAs have found themselves in. It seems to pivot on a sort of Be Kind 2.0.

I think women who have been in the game long enough will see through it, but we should be watchful. Stonewall is pivoting, activists are pivoting, and they will be preying on women's socialized kindness: watch for the destination and be on your guard.

I have read several posters on different threads appealing to everyone (women) to help calm trans-identified people's (men's) fears about what this new reality will look like, what it will mean for them (the men) now that they can't just do whatever they want anymore. What about the men's toilets? Are they safe? Where will they go? (Who will fix this problem?)

Well, apparently it is a problem that women can fix, if they just take a moment to think about it. Trans-identified men will be unsafe in the men's, so women need to join the fight to give these men something of their own.

Notice the pivot? The pleading? If you just... If you weren't so.... It can be different if you just... Sound familiar? To any woman who is in, or has escaped from, an abusive relationship, this will be all too familiar.

This is Be Kind 2.0. It's very similar to the original, except that instead of being forced to enjoy our abuse, we are being asked to fix it. And the "Persuasive TRAs" seem to be mobilizing, from what I have seen.

It won't start in the middle (with the women); it will start at the top (infiltrating government, think tanks, charities, etc.) and the bottom (schools). But they will use women to get this moving. Why not? It worked so well last time. And I believe that organizations like Stonewall will be leading the charge: the campaign can be something like Safe Spaces for Trans+ : All of Us Together.

If anyone else has seen this in action, it might be useful to keep a record of it here.

I imagine this thread will eventually be taken over by activists, but, until then, I would be interested in your thoughts.

Thanks for everyone's responses so far. It's been really interesting to see that I'm not the only one seeing a shift in tactics.

Just had a rummage through Stonewall's website. There's the ongoing EHRC guidance whattaboutery, but I'm more interested their other ongoing campaigns and policy work. They seem to be using "LGBTQIA+" and "Trans+" interchangeably at the moment.

At the moment, their work seems to be focused on a mixture of UK (conversion practices, Rainbow Laces, etc.) and global. They've worked with a global law firm called Freshfields (at least I'm assuming that's who they are, it's not specified anywhere that I have found yet) to produce a global report called Pride & Progress (I will refrain from the obvious retort).

In 2025, Stonewall also changed their Workplace Equality Index to "Proud Employers" (nice pivot there, don't call it "equality" now, because it isn't, call it "proud"). It's probably been noted on another thread, but I'll leave it here just for completeness.

Stonewall are also still pushing Inclusive Education, although they seem to admit that this area has been somewhat hindered by the new RSHE guidance to be followed from September 2026.

Lots of posters probably know much more about Stonewall, so please add or subtract as required. I'm not aiming for this thread to be exclusively about Stonewall, but just to have any relevant information in one place, as much as possible.

There will be other organizations we should be watching, so it would be helpful if you could post them on this thread as well.

I will post some text from Stonewall's website below, with links. The links may get the post deleted; if so, I'll repost without links.

These seem to be Stonewall's current projects (relevant)

@BiologicalRobot
"I forsee full on throwing of things. Not necessarily violence against a person but vandalism and out of control marches."

There was that creepy TRA group, bash back, who committed some vandalism recently.

Then there's all the anti-woman protests that have happened anywhere women have congregated to speak about women's rights issues. The ones that come to the top of my mind are pretty much all of the Let Women Speak events, or the piss protests, or the locusts that were released at the LGB Alliance conference.

Edited to add that I totally agree that there's likely to be an escalation now things are not going entirely the TRA way any more.

BiologicalRobot · 02/06/2026 00:34

Refusal to talk. NoDebate.
BeKind.
Verbal aggression and belittling.
Walking on eggshells eg loss of jobs.
Darvo.
Gaslighting aka mirroring.
Whining.

I forsee full on throwing of things. Not necessarily violence against a person but vandalism and out of control marches. The equivalence of throwing the phone at the wall, tipping over chairs and slamming doors. We have already seen some of the masked tras doing it but that's been counter protests rather than the main.

Ive noticed how it is becoming eerily silent like the calm before the storm. The waiting with baited breath for the other shoe to drop. Been there, done that.

My answer has become smaller and more simple over the years. I no longer argue or plead since the SC ruling. My answer is NO.

TRAs mobilised pretty much the whole of corporate and civic society to dismantle women’s rights and our status as a category of people distinct from men on a global scale within a couple of decades. In Australia, women are no longer allowed to openly meet without including men. They’ve shown utter contempt for women and insulted us in a million different ways.

As far as I’m concerned TRAs can do their own bloody campaigning for fourth spaces. I won’t be lifting a finger.

I would encourage everyone to reflect back to male TRA allies that they should be starting 'You can pee next to me' campaigns and arrange to accompany their men who say they are women friends into the male toilets for safety.

Maybe they can make their own badges and hand them out at work?

This is an excellent idea. Forget waiting for the next tactic - let's launch this as a thing. now before anyone else gets in with something rubbish!

ETA or support dogs?

I support fourth spaces but I'm not putting myself out to campaign for them. Especially after being called a 'Nazi aparthedist bigot' for suggesting it as a solution on X. 🙄

Perfect response to any requests surely?!
Sorry I tried to help but was called a bigot and can't risk that happening again
You really are getting the full womanly treatment tho - get used to being ignored and having to do everything yourself

"Mental health impact on trans people" - as stated in Parliament debate this afternoon. That'll tug on some heartstrings, so we'll watch out for that.

Yeah, the mental health impact on women whose sports were trashed, or who encountered men in changing rooms, and the mental health impact on the parents and siblings of young people who suddenly 'went trans'.... I recall hearing next to nothing about any of that.

EdithStourton · 01/06/2026 19:53

Daleksatemyshed · 01/06/2026 13:13

@BridgetPhillipsonIsACowardlyJobsworth the other tactic that's appearing is trying to make out this will be a bad thing for "cis" women _ how more masculine women will get attacked and thrown out of the ladies. Once again, they think we're daft, I know a woman when I see one

I remember once seeing an interview with Jayne Fae and Julie Bindel.
Jayne was all coiffed hair and jangling bracelets and makeup and big earrings and a floral top.
Julie was in a white shirt, black jacket, short hair, no jewellery.

It was instantly obvious which one was the man.

EdithStourton · 01/06/2026 19:48

Hoardasurass · 01/06/2026 12:23

I've seen this too but I just point out that we already offered to help campaign for fourth spaces and got labelled TERFs for it, so my answer now is no, mens violence against other men is not a problem for women to fix its a men problem.

This is my view, too.
They've been so bloody horrible to women that they can stuff off and sort it out for themselves. Any inclination I ever had to help them (and it was there, once) has been whittled away bit by bit, with every pound I've put into a crowdfunder and every woman I've seen doxxed.

Grassstorm · 01/06/2026 19:38

Has anyone listened to the podcast "Agree to disagree about gender"? Presented by a trans woman and a gender critical lesbian I think. I haven't had the time yet but I'm curious to see where the discussions land.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/06/2026 19:25

I think it goes with the types of personality disorders that are overrepresented in transgenderism.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/06/2026 19:24

I’ve also been pointing out the mirroring/gaslighting/argument reversals here and elsewhere for about a decade. It isn’t a new thing.

BridgetPhillipsonIsACowardlyJobsworth · 01/06/2026 17:27

Ophelia, I agree. Especially #notyourmum. They will have to learn to cope and fix their own problems (of their own making, I might add). And, for those men who just will not hear the word no, there is the law, and we will be watching them.

There are too many women now who have been through the wringer, and some of us who have had family members caught up in this will never get back what we had. We cannot let this happen again. We will not.

Mens issues are theirs to fix. I don't see a rush by TRAs to fix maternity services (which aren't purely about their own validation). Giving birth being the most dangerous day in a woman's life and has substantially worse stats than murdered transwomen in the UK.

So frankly they can fuck off.

SternJoyousBeev2 · 01/06/2026 15:59

I’m going to have the same attitude as they collectively display towards detransitioners. No one forced them to modify their bodies medically. They need to take responsibility for their own actions and the consequences that come with those freely taken actions.

Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.

Feels like the last one is a way off😐

Thanks for that!
Yes, long way off, and, for some, I suspect never.

Yes, the bargaining and bartering. That's another tactic. Isn't bargaining one of the Stages of Grief?

I'm fairly certain that 'sex is special category personal data' thing has been debunked and challenged by Sex Matters, so hopefully it will be removed before the guidance is approved. It's an erroneous statement, apparently added in by Bridget's minions, probably thinking they could sneak it past all of us!

I imagine the handbook could be well written by trans widows, as the emerging pattern looks like a macro level of what they experience at the micro level.

Well, that about sums it up, doesn't it? There is definitely a pattern here. I'm going to keep a close eye on Stonewall. When they jump, we'll be ready!

I feel like I'm writing some kind of Handbook on How Not To Get Caught Out Again.
