YouGov Poll shows what parliament would look like if only women could vote

Picturisation of the voting intentions of women aged 18-50 shows a parliament overwhelmingly stuffed with parties which are openly pro-trans.

When will the gender critical movement let go of the disingenuous narrative that they speak for or represent women when they clearly don’t?

Male and female are outdated exclusionary terms now. We have various recognised identities including non binary and agender among many others. To deny people their existence is cruel and hurtful so please do better and look to educate yourself on the matter.

How many Genders are there?

You've got to laugh at someone claiming men and female are outdated terms, on a thread about how females vote.

The Infograph, according to this poster, could be entirely about men.

Oh ok. We are in La La land now.

I’d still like to know what you meant in your comment about working class communities… or are you just here to be a wind up merchant?

I won't be going into detail about that because, for some ungodly reason, people don't want to discuss the failings of working class communities on public forums such as this. That is despite the topic being incredibly popular amongst dinnertable discourse in the circles of my contemporaries but oh well, a sacred cow is a sacred cow and I will abide by the consensus of mumsnet. Allegory will suffice.

Are you actually trying to pull a reverse "what is a woman" argument against me? If you don't know what trans people are then why are you even here in this thread? Don't you have a jigsaw puzzle you can be working on Tabatha?

I didn't say that I didn't know what these terms meant, I was asking you what you think they mean, because if you are using the same definitions as me, then your comment doesn't make sense. I'm sorry if that wasn't clear.

For clarity, these are my definitions.

Someone who is gender critical rejects gender stereotyping and doesn't believe that men can become women (or vice versa).

Trans people are people who think that they are the opposite sex or say they are.

I can add more detail if that's still not clear.

Now over to you. Do you agree with my definitions? If not, what are yours?

You and the men you know might be okay with putting rapists in prison with incarcerated women. But I think everyone can see exactly who it is that makes things 'better' for.

Ha ha so if/when my kids want to become parents how should they go about it? Because exclusionary or not in humans its take one male and one female to make a baby

You're out of your mind if you think most women are gender critical, because we most certainly are not. We have and always will be more accepting of trans people than men.

Most women do not want mixed sex facilities, services and sports. Of course you often get women saying they don't mind sharing with their lovely transwoman friend who they have known for years, but when faced with a male person who they don't know and who is obviously there to do more than pee, change or play fair sports, they all backtrack with a very small number of exceptions.

Shortshriftandlethal · 13/05/2026 09:04

What you are calling 'trans people' are males and females who like to imagine themselves as the opposite sex, often going as far as presenting themselves in stereotypically opposite sex ways.

We are all male or female, regardless of any 'identity' we may assume. I come across and see people who are obviously 'trans identifying' very frequently...and I can always recognise that because their sex is obvious, and the practiced postures are too.

I think you are out of your mind if you think that your little coterie of privileged woke elitism represents what ‘most people’ think. The silent majority are GC. In fact everyone, even trans people themselves, know that humans cannot change sex.

But the issue isn’t really about gender dysphoria, it’s about men, who commit most of the violent and sexual crime, being given a legal and social loophole to access single sex spaces for the purposes of nefarious activity and crimes against girls and women. There is plenty of evidence and court cases that this has already happened. You think that’s a good thing?

I'm not sure who the " We" you refer to is. Most women instinctively recognise a man when they seee one. This instinctive recognition has been honed by millennia of shared experience. I can guarantee that none of the women sat in my hair salon on Monday had the sligtest concern with 'trans rights', let alone be accepting of sharing intimate spaces with strange men.

I seriously doubt that table. If women voted Green in such large numbers then the recent round of local elections would have shown far greater swings to the Greens in far more places than was the case.

The Greens are doing well in large urban areas, with large university populations......and really not that much anywhere else.

But yes, it is pleasing to know that women are absolutely on the ball when it comes to the environment, trans rights, being a sanctuary for refugees fleeing oppression around the world and taxing the wealthy class

Three of those things are "traditional" values of the Greens. Why do you think the fourth (so-called trans rights) fits with those values?

There are many women here who think that being on the ball with the issue of trans rights means campaigning against a harmful ideology which states that people can change sex, children should be given harmful drugs which stunt their natural development and men should be allowed in women-only spaces if they declare that they think they are women.

sanluca · 13/05/2026 08:48

If this would be true, and reading the comments it is not, it tells me the following

Majority of women vote left of center

Combine it with the following

Majority of women don't want mixed sex services, facilities and sports

Conclusion: the statement gender critical women are right wing does not seem to be true

Thank you for confirming that. Not sure if it was your intention though

I saw that infograph during the local elections debacle and I found it heartening that so many women have the courage of conviction to vote for the only political party that wants to make this country better for everyone.

Of course like in all things, men have to go ruin it by voting Reform in their droves. Clearly they need some more lessons in toxic masculinity because it's not sinking in just yet.

But yes, it is pleasing to know that women are absolutely on the ball when it comes to the environment, trans rights, being a sanctuary for refugees fleeing oppression around the world and taxing the wealthy class who hoard their money like Smaug.

I see your scepticism but in all honesty this tracks with my personal experience on the ground speaking to people I know in real life. The Green Party are hugely popular in the circles I run with, even amongst the men. Though having said that I live and work among very respectful feminist ally men that know what is expected of them, I imagine that would be a whole different story in communities like the working class.

Can you explain what you mean by “…a whole different story in communities like the working class”?

Screamingabdabz · 13/05/2026 08:41

@InstantlyBella It’s not heartening to think that voting people are duped by blatant propaganda like that infographic. Or that trans rights make the ‘country better’ for girls and women. The naivety is depressing.

SilenceInside · 13/05/2026 08:37

@InstantlyBella skepticism and some critical thinking. It’s irrelevant whether it tracks with your personal experience, if it’s not true or a heavy manipulation of data.
