And here is everyone wondering on MN why Reform are doing so well! I laugh. I can't stand Reform but it's decisions that are as incomprehensible as this that really highlight the problem.

He must either not listen to advisers, or the whole lot of them are in an echo-chamber that nothing can penetrate. I'm not surprised at the choice of a TWAW handmaiden - there are probably no other options in his circle - but the stupidity in not thinking that PIE would come up, especially given the continuing disquiet regarding Labour's response to the grooming gangs, is staggering. It also feels like a desperate attempt at virtue-signalling. He and his ministers could simply commit to working closely with the DA Commissioner and Victims Commissioner and holding regular strategy meetings with women's organisations and activists. There's so much expertise and experience out there already, and some trusted MPs who could be given more prominence. Harman is as much use as a chocolate teapot.

He's not stupid, of course he knows - it's just that he's anti-women and has an agenda we don't know about.

He really is dense isn’t he and I say that as a Labour member. I hope this appointment which is utterly abhorrent, means he is forced to resign sooner rather than later.

I mean he's not a stupid man - is he really this out of touch?? It's not just her TWAW why can't you just be kind stuff but it's her association with PIE. It is of course being brought up immediately and after the issue with grooming gangs, does he really think ppl won't jump all over that?

Christ there are lots of women he could have chosen instead, why this one??
